Wow 🤩 Been trying to get here to try the food for sometime. Finally booked and went last night and was not disappointed. Thai food was super tasty, great choice and freshly cooked to order. The chef even came out to talk to the diners to make sure everything was okay. Service was excellent, staff were very attentive and very friendly. A lovely well presented, clean restaurant/pub. Would highly recommend and hope to get back asap to try other dishes on the menu. Well done to all !

Beautiful pub. Zoe was really helpful in regards to the allergies a couple of people in our group had. Super dog friendly too. The food was delicious. Would definitely come back, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a cozy place to grab a bite to eat with friends and family (and furry family)!

We didn’t stay at the hotel but had Afternoon Tea there which this review is about! Poor service as waiters seem to have no idea how to serve. We were rushed to pay as they were finishing for the day. We were not offered what type of tea to have. One of us asked for topping up the water glass while the other two got ignored! They had no knowledge of the place either given it’s a building with some history! A refreshing conversation was with the gardener who has good knowledge of the place, but unfortunately it was too late.

We called the pub for vegan options in advance as previously the pub had a very limited menu for those with dietary requirements. The chef had only just joined and said he was planning on changing the menu so it suits everyone. He was very helpful offering us a yummy wellington, which was made on the premises. Five of us ate and four tried the new mushroom and spinach wellington. It was delicious and very well prepared. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo but I'll be back to try that again. We also tried the sticky toffee pudding with vegan icecream. This was pleasant, but was more like a lightly flavoured sponge pudding with toffee sauce and ice-cream for £8.50 (although I may be spoiled with Demuths STP recipe). Hopefully more vegan choices will be added. But it's a very positive step forward for a lovely pub.

Four families from different parts of the country meet here for Sunday lunch to celebrate with my parents for a big birthday. I had searched for somewhere convenient for us all to get to and had booked this based on reviews and pictures of the food. We were not disappointed. The Sunday lunch was amazing and the desserts were too. I have to admit, I was sceptical when we pulled up looking at the exterior but do not be put off by this, let the food speak for itself as you are not eating the outside of the building.

My first visit to the The Shed and it will not be the last that is for sure. The ladies serving were so welcoming, accommodating and kind I felt my custom was really valued. Having dietary challenges they were so willing to make my Breakfast Porridge suitable for my needs and it was Delicious. Great coffee and a lovely atmosphere within. On a cold winter's day the ambience was warm and comforting. The facilities were spotlessly clean and it was lovely to see dogs and everyone were welcome to enjoy the experience. Looking at the Lunch menu, there were many options detailed that will surely me see me back there very soon. Thank you.

Fantastic food, service and location. Service was extremely friendly, prompt, courteous and not intrusive in any way. Our food choice was the Chefs menu, five courses, each and every course was served and presented superbly, delicious does not really do the food justice. Menu was thoughtful and well balanced. The other menu options are also varied and also went down well on other nearby tables. Location is just on the outskirts of Taunton, easily accessible and the premises themselves are tastefully presented as befits the house itself. All in all well worth a visit by both locals and non locals alike.

Deborah, Jeremy and the whole Oggy Oggy team go above and beyond what you would expect from a pasty shop. When we are in Taunton, we always stop of at Oggy Oggy for a delicious pasty; the staff are so friendly and their baking is divine. Their giant steak pasty had been officially rated best in the world, by my ten year old daughter. Since lockdown, Deborah and Jeremy have been delivering fresh baked and frozen pasties far and wide....thinking this would be a fabulous surprise for my daughter's birthday, we gave them a call. They did not disappoint. A mixture of fresh baked and frozen pasties delivered to our door at lunchtime? That is what dreams are made of and was an amazing surprise for my little princess, who was absolutely overjoyed. A massive thank you to you all, for keeping on going, even now.

Amazing venue ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We used The Allerford Inn for our wedding venue, it was absolutely perfect and more than what we dreamt of. The staff were incredible and helped me make my dream a reality. No matter how much I stressed in the lead up to the wedding the staff took on that load and helped to make everything run smoothly so I could just relax on the day and just enjoy it. With a very short turn around I only had 8 weeks to plan my wedding from start to finish but Shane put me at ease and we had the most perfect magical day. If anyone is thinking of having The Allerford Inn for their wedding venue I 100% recommend! The food was amazing, we had so many compliments at how tasty it all was and the selection, there was something for everyone. A massive thank you to Shane and the team for everything! 🥰

Had the Sunday lunch..the roast potatoes were very over done and even though I asked what was scattered all over the meal..the server never came back to offer an answer..so any allergys were not addressed she also did not offer any condiments of any kind..so I will be advising not to bother to visit this pub which is a shame for the new owners.
