Stayed here to meet up with friends from Gloucestershire.Made very welcome by staff.Cosy bar area with wood burner.Rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean.Had evening meal in the Restaurant with very good Punjabi lamb curry.A surprise to find Indian food in a Rural pub but very welcome.

Lovely people. Great food. Will return! Picked the Farmers Arms as I was meeting an old friend who was visiting Taunton. Neither of us know the area, so a bit of research was required to find somewhere that ticked all of our boxes. They are super friendly and accommodating (we are both disabled) and couldn't do enough to help. We both had the 10 oz rump steak, and they were certainly bigger than the 10 oz rump steaks I get served in London. BTW their version of medium-rare would be medium in London - next time both of us will ask for rare. Good food and reasonably priced for what we had.

Bar staff fab made us realy welcome.food was realy not the best.we love indian we go india so quite disappointed at our indian meal.

Very long wait for food that was incredibly overpriced toa degree I am not sure why we stayed. Food was very average. Salmon skewer with just 5 cubes of fish was £28!

It’s been what feels like a century since my husband’s been off work and all the kids are at school, leaving us wanting to go have a lunch date. Still kind of new to the area we were told to look for a place called ‘farthers arms’, but instead google maps brought us to ‘farmers arms’. Unsure if it was just bad hearing over the phone or my typing into google maps, we decided to park up and have a gander as we love to explore anyway. It was a lovely warm feeling entering the main door where there’s also access to a back garden with shade , all doors open for a cool breeze inside, all so beautiful and peaceful, so we grabbed a drink and then ordered some food in the shade, whitch came out way quicker then we had thought it would probably be. We are foodies , my husband is a very picky chef himself. He chose there burger and I had a spicey chicken and rice dish, I forget the names as my taste buds are still on cloud nine. The halloumi fry’s though! I shall never forget the name nor the taste! . I’m not a fan of calamari rings but … now I am. It’s safe to say we’re making this our go to lunch dates here. We’re so glad we looked for something new today , such lovely people , amazing service , chilled relaxed vibes inside and out , I’m already excited to go again. 10/10/10/10/10

We booked four room’s for a family wedding and were delighted with the room’s which were suites and really nice. The problems were however all food related. On the first night we decided to eat in the restaurant and we were extremely disappointed with the very limited menu which had only 5 choices. I chose a rump steak which was very nice and cooked to perfection, but at £25 it needed to be good. However at £18.00 for a cheese burger which several people had, was tasteless, undercooked and extortionately priced. Breakfast was also very expensive for what you got and the continental option was simply a croissant and juice In summary: Great rooms Great location Poor range of food Extremely overpriced

Don’t go…..! After a lovely weekend with two daughters and their families at their homes in Bath, we stopped at the Farmers Inn, West Hatch on our way home to West Somerset. We had had a wonderful lunch at the Wheatsheaf, Combe Hay, followed by an equally delicious dinner cooked by a daughter, so we were not looking for a mega gastronomic experience, just a well cooked pub lunch! Words fail me…. I should have realised we had made one of the worst ‘quick lunch’ mistakes of our lives when the perfectly nice young waitress told us we could sit outside on the terrace to eat, but there was no table service! We had to collect a box to lay our own table….not actually a problem, but there was only one other person in the pub..sitting at the bar! The menu was worrying….more signals. Laminated with flower decoration.. We ordered the roast beef, after asking if it would be rare. The reply was confusing as it seemed to imply that the beef would be cooked to order, which I couldn’t understand, but as it just before 1.00, I assumed we’d be safe in getting pink beef. I can’t begin to describe how bad the meal was…..my conversation with the waitress when we paid (!) and left, merely confirmed my worst suspicions. The whole meal had been COOKED THE DAY BEFORE AND REHEATED! The side dish of cauliflower was raw and cold, and I mean raw not al dente! When it finally came back it was actually the only edible food on the table. We left most of it….and paid the bill. We must be mad.. Suffice to say we will never set foot there again, and I hope at least some people will be warned by our experience..!

Sadly, our recent visit to the farmers arms left us very disappointed. We visited at lunchtime and for the majority of our meal were the only individuals in the pub. The menu was very simple and involved mainly sandwiches, burgers or fish and chips and one choice if salad. We ordered a burger and a sandwich (which had the potential to have been delicious) and were both a little horrified at what was served - dry, overcooked meat on cheap bread with a limp looking salad. It is very rare that I leave food, but on this occasion we struggled to even eat the meat it was so hard and chewy. This disappointment was exacerbated by the price - the burger was £15.50 and I have definitely had far superior burgers at other places for less cost. The woman who served us was pleasantly and friendly, but we will definitely not be returning when we were charged so much for so little. It’s such a shame as this always used to be one of our favourite places.

Without exception I would rate the total experience the best we’ve experience. The proprietor and the regulars welcome was exceptional we were made to feel very welcome. The room was a very good size well appointed, decorated and clean, there was even a private courtyard which would be wonderful in warmer months For dinner we choose the authentic Punjabi food over the more normal menu and we’re not disappointed. We will certainly be returning

Disappointed stay yesterday April 15th....a family getogether for my birthday. New owners are friendly enough but not very well organised.? Accommodation was not the best.?.main problem being broken toilet seat in our room. Was surprised to have to pay £12 per dog...rake off! Food was preordered so didn't expect there to be a problem but 2 burgers were missing! We have visited before under previous owners but I'm afraid we will not be returning after yesterday's experience.

We had heard from several people that this place was ‘meant to be good!’ It was! It is a lovely pub, with all the country comforts, lovely staff, lovely food & good wine! We ate the Steak meal, that was cooked exactly how we asked & Panna Cotta dessert! There’s an excellent choice on the menu, something for everybody!

Having been a happy and frequent visitor to the Farmers Arms previously. I was shocked at the appearance as I walked through the door, from shabby looking throws over the sofas and the general demise of being unkempt.
