Went in for some food but told the chef was away so no food, nice pub and the locals seem friendly enough. Good access sportshown on a few large TV's price's not to bad aswell. Would I go back yes I would

This has just reopened, great local pub, beers are kept perfectly , pool table and dartboard available inside Donna and Gareth who run the pub are great fun and they always give a fabulous welcome, the large flat carpark adjoining the side of the pub is flat and we parked our motorhome there well recommended

Ordered a takeaway roast from all the family for my stepdads 90th birthday. Spoke to the owners and they were lovely and so helpful. Report back from stepdad and mum was that it was a brilliant meal....nothing they didn't enjoy. Thank you so much VICTORIA GATE ...we will be back !!

Visited this pub a couple of weeks ago when visiting a friend in Taunton, I did not think pubs like this existed anymore? A nice hello from strangers, cheap drinks, a loud jukebox, a pool table & a friendly buzzing atmosphere, this is what a pub should be like. When I'm down from Bristol again I will definitely be spending an afternoon here, well done!

Wow! Great value for money, the portions are huge and staff are lovely. When they open to dine in I will for sure booking a table! Yum. We had a roast dinner.

I have been drinking in the Vic for two years now and have to say it's the best / friendliest venue in town today tied the roast dinner take away and can say it's the best roast I've had in many years

Popped in on the off chance, had just finished abit of shopping in Taunton and we thought as we havent been in before we'd have a look before lockdown... Happy to say very pleasantly surprised, have a cracking lunch and the staff were really friendly, hopefully we will get to go back this side of Christmas

If you are looking for a quality roast dinner at a reasonable price then this is the place. As a repeat customer this speaks for its self for the service received. Even better you can have it delivered through these difficult times and everyone deserves a treat once in a while.

By far the best roast dinner in town . Potatoes were not from frozen and veg was also all fresh .the portion was extremely generous and I will definitely be back

Really impressed, I had a really good pint (Thatchers Gold) and some nice food (Large Sunday Roast) the wife had the same she was equally impressed. Don't get me wrong, its not michelin start bit its a quality pint served by nice friendly staff, with food that you can tell has been made with love, so 5 starts in my book.

I have To say This is Hands Down The Best Carvery in Taunton The roast potatoes are clearly home made and not frozen / premade like in most other local Carverys Also I have Tried The Breakfast on 3 occasions and it is always cooked fresh To Order I love What The new management are doing with The place

Being a local for the 5 past years never ever known it to be an attraction for a comedy club Absolutely amazing experience and evening with talent from Somerset, Bristol and Plymouth.. A night not to be missed on a monthly basis and an Open Mic Night in the works... DON'T MAKE A MISTAKE!

Fun friendly welcoming pub. Great bar staff, excellent food. Live music nights. Live sport can be seen from where ever you stand/sit. Never any trouble and best of all it is a pub women can go in by theirself and made to feel welcome. The locals are lovely, this pub caters for everyone from young to old. Highly recommend the Cavery, the best in Taunton.

Excellent traditional pub with a superb menu. Carvery's are divine, they even offer delivery! Atmosphere is friendly, children are welcome. They offer various types of entertainment from discos to comedy nights. Sports are shown on a large projector screen. Pool table, juke box, dart board. What more could you ask for. PS. Its cheap too!!

Called in for a take away roast from the carvery which is priced at £8. I believe this is a great price for Taunton.Food was arriving to the carvery freshly prepared and smelling rather good.There is a very large step up to and down from the carvery area.Unfortunately it got to 12:15 and I had become quite warm and didn't feel too well, the carvery was still not ready.Arrived home put my plate and cutlery away.I don't think I would return. The food looked great. It's a very male dominated bar, but all whom I came across were very sweet. The large step up and down from the carvery would not have been overcome by me however I have no doubt the staff would have been very helpful in supplying me with my takeaway lunchIt was not £8 well spent by me but this does not make this a poor carvery just a tad delayed in its delivery.

This is the best I have ever seen the White Hart. The pub was clean and welcoming. I only have one criticism, as a visiting darts player the food was brought out in one and not staggered. My game finished second and we found most of the food had been eaten by the teams finishing first and the working staff had no idea what was going on or how to rectify the matter ????

Nice pub, we stayed on our way to cornwall. Had a room directly above bar, staff member had loud music going in early hours when cleaning though which wasn’t great had to go to ask to turn if down

We order a small breakfast. Sausage, bacon, egg and beans with a slice of toast for £3.50. Freshly cooked and delivered by the chef. This newly decorated and spacious pub is a pleasure to sit in.
