We had a fab night for my daugher’s 13th. Lovely pink round booth reserved for us, lovely waitress (young, short hair, northern accent), very accommodating in every way. My daughter loved her mocktails and the food was absolutely delicious! There was a DJ who played the best tunes, shame it wasn’t that busy, I’ll definitely be going in on a Thursday night again. The decor and atmosphere of the place is lovely, def one of my favourite places to be in Taunton. Drinks are pricey but they’re well presented and delicious eg actual passion fruit in the porn star martinis which some places have stopped doing. Thanks for a fab night!

Went with my friend for some cocktails on a Friday evening and where very accommodating, bar staff where lovely and the cocktails looked and tasted amazing

We visited on a quiet rainy Monday, lunchtime, to celebrate my parents' anniversary. The staff member who served us was pleasant. He was very apologetic when there was a delay with our order, and even offered a round of free drinks which of course we happily accepted. We enjoyed our meals and agreed that it was much better than the eatery opposite which we visited for my mum's birthday the previous month. The interior of The Library is impressive - definitely a place to visit if you're looking for somewhere a tad more special to dine/drink. Only negative is the sticky food/drink menus which seemed to have been handled by numerous grubby hands.

Great place, beautiful building with the nicest team. I host a monthly Book Club here and the team have always been fantastic. Also visited as part of Pop and Bark when they hired the venue out and that was great too! Food is always good!

We booked The Library for our daughter’s 18th Birthday. Pete the manager was a joy and pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble for him or his whole team. We enjoyed the private function area that Pete allowed us to decorate. We had food served as a buffet at our chosen time for 40 guests. I’d arranged a private saxophone player to play throughout the night, and Pete happily worked closely with him to ensure it ran smoothly. Pete was on hand all night, and nothing was a problem at all. He even drove to buy some candles for the cake. As I forgot them!!! I wouldn’t hesitate to book or recommend The Library to anyone that is thinking about hosting a private function!! Big thanks all rough for making the evening very special celebrating an 18th birthday. All the guests commented on how lovely the whole night was.

A grand building and although not busy on our arrival was given a very warm welcome. All three of us ordered the posh fish finger sandwich which came with a very generous size bowl of chips. All very delicious and well presented. Restaurant very clean and comfortable. Toilet facilities upstairs also spotless.

Went to bottomless brunch for a hen-do and service was amazing! Food was delish and we were constantly getting more drinks and didn’t have to chase them up. Peter served us and dealt with everyone amazing! Definitely recommend

Bottomless brunch was amazing! We went for a Hen Do with a huge group of people and they were so attentive to us, kept the drinks flowing constantly so we were never short! Special thanks to Peter who was just brilliant especially with our loud group, would definitely come again!

A really wonderful atmosphere, the cocktails are to die for and the food is really great too! A must-go spot in Taunton even if its just for the 5* service, all the staff are so friendly and polite, carney was very attentive and all-round lovely lady. Would highly recommend going!!!!!

went there with my boyfriend after a hospital appointment on Tuesday 10th September around 5pm - it was the 2 pints of Estrella that got us in the door ! We ended up having a lovely meal of chicken burger and the dirty burger with pulled beef, both absolutely yummy, perfect service and the guy behind the bar (we think Oliver - with ginger hair) and the next guy were really really lovely !

First visit to the Library and we were really impressed. 4 of us ate me my husband and 2 children and the food was delicious and really good value for money. My children can be fussy but they gobbled up all their food. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The service was fast we didn’t have to wait long even though the pub was very busy. We have never had the worst Caesar salad the chicken was like old leather also served brown and wilting lettuce could not eat it .

What has happened to this place? It used to be really good - good food, friendly staff and good service but it seems to have changed hands as the name has changed. Now there is an endless wait for drinks - tables are dirty with plates piled up and dirty glasses everywhere. There were not enough bar staff so they were doing their best but really under pressure and they had to keep stopping to wash up glasses or change beer barrels and didn't have the ingredients for the cocktails - there seems to be zero management now - such a shame.

Had a great lunch here. Fantastic atmosphere, great service and brilliant pricing. Will be back very soon! Keep up the great work!

Wait for food was long & we were informed of this after a long wait to be shown to her booked table. Food was very small portion for the price when it did arrive. Queues for the bar were long and took forever to be served. A lot of dirty glasses to the side of the bar as well. Informed had ran out of various alcohol- unable to make a lot of cocktails. Bar staff had to leave the bar to find a tray for drinks. Disappointed no longer offering table service. Seemed to be lacking staff considering the events going on in the town.

It was quite busy when we arrived, but we were soon seated and had our first drinks within 5 minutes. There was a bit of a wait on food, but it was worth the wait, everything was really nice. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Fantastic pub. Beautiful decor and ample seating area. The food is almost like tapas style and would suit most people. Friendly staff and also great music nights at the weekends.

Waited over 40 minutes for two orders and only came when I enquired at the bar. Most of staff concerned with their phones and no sign of service. Expensive and not worth it. Will not be returning.

Visited this weekend. Really beautiful place. Only had drinks with some friends. From what we gather they have recently gone through some changes and will fully up and running in a few weeks but was a nice night out.

First time here and really not impressed. The decor is beautiful but the service was awful we patiently waited while what staff was on served customers that had came in after us. Two tables had waitress service and we had to wait and wait for drinks then food . When the food finally came out it was dry . To me it was pre cooked then cooked again . Very disappointed. Expected to have a good time for a hen do and the only thing that made our experience good was the man with the curly hair at the bar that was very apologetic. Very expensive too for cocktails that had ‘bitter’ pumps put in to make them seem more alcoholic

Came here with my partner for dinner. Came in and after booking no table ready for us, just to sit anywhere which is fine. The drinks were nice but over priced. We ordered the halloumi fries which were nice, chicken tenders had nice flavour but over cooked, been koftas were inedible the were so over cooked and the pulled chilli fries were nit nice, just soggy and little flavour. The service seemed very unorganised and slow, the queuing system really needs some organisation. Overall, I wouldn't come here again, nor recommend.

Just wanted a quick ceaser salad for lunch. Met with miserable waitresses. Long wait for a salad that arrived with stale croutons, what can only be described as 4 small tesco pre-sliced chicken breast slices. Lettuce is just lettuce with some dressing but paying £15 is not worth it. Same standard as a meal deal just 4 times more expensive

Good experience. The waiter didn’t really know about the tastecard discount so we had to educate him on this. It wasn’t made clear that the buy one get one for the cocktails weren’t included if you use the tastecard so we purchased more than we would have if we had know. Otherwise good experience and great food.

Probably "Mis-sold"... so we picked bottomless brunch, based on the menu online and booked. Got there and the menu on site was totally different! I brought this to the servers attention and the response was oh that's nothing to do with us! Really wasn't sure how to respond to that... so I thought let's just give it a go. There is a Spirtz menu I haven't seen and it looks OK. Let's give it a try. So all but two of them tasted basically the same so imagine 7 choices is actually 3.... not bad drinks and strong but not at all what I signed up for at £36 each and not stand out at all. Half the drinks I had to collar someone to order. Food was OK but had 2 meals for £12.49 the night before which were just as good. In summary I've done a fair few 'bottomless" brunches over the last few years and this ranks on the bottom 3. Very disappointing. Do NOT recommend!

It was very early in the day and only a handful of people were in, but the barman was friendly and talkative. A very amicable young man who brought our food, which was very good. Nothing was too much trouble for him. My friend had the Buddha Bowl which looked great and she didn't leave any, I had fish fingers in a brioche bun and dirty fries, both were excellent.

egor gave a brilliant hands on experience, made me feel so involved in the process even let me pour my own ketchup, 10/10 would recommend. Phoebe behind the bar was simply incredible

Popped in for a restful pint as we wandered around Taunton. Really nice pub and restaurant, light and airy with great outdoor spaces, a good range of drinks and really friendly and welcoming staff. Spot on for a quiet pint while dodging a shower or two! Enjoy.

Been coming here regularly for years. Great food, quality drinks served correctly. Very lively on Friday / Saturday nights with music and a great atmosphere. Staff work hard to keep customers happy :)

We had a meal for our friends 17, were surprised to hear the mocktails could not be drunk by under 18s even though they contained no alcohol however this is not much of a problem. We ordered our food and the waitress got it wrong several times when we ordered and either it had been put through wrong or the kitchen made it wrong as it was not what we ordered which was just no chilli’s on all dishes. My friend could not eat any of her meal as the cheese tasted sour. After we finished what we could of our unsatisfactory meal it took us having to go to the bar to get the waitress to clear the plates. There was another table who had not asked that still had their plates when we left and they had finished before us. There was only two or three tables so it can’t be excused.After all this we had to ask for the bill again and we got served a cake we had brung in with no cutlery which was just adding to the problems. I always leave a tip but could not after having to ask for all the necessary services to happen. Nothing was taken off the bill. I really hope this service gets better as it could not get worse.
