The best restaurants serving British food in Plymouth South West

Don’t bother, service very slow and it wasn’t even busy, when we remind them we were still waiting we were told we haven’t even started your order thanks for reminding us! lunch food was very average. Wouldn’t bother again, shame as a lovely location.

Racism at every level — from the staff to the ownership, and even worse, the local customers. If you’re thinking of going there just for the views and food, this is not the place to be. As a well-travelled individual, I was shocked by the treatment I received. Having an Eastern European accent apparently counts against you here — even if you're polite, try to tip, or simply start a friendly conversation about life and dreams. This place fails to represent what the United Kingdom should stand for. As someone who owns a business in Plymouth and is always generous and respectful, I was treated like an outsider — just because of my accent. It’s disheartening, and I honestly don’t believe this environment reflects the mindset of the younger generation (ages 19–30). If you're a foreigner, don’t expect respect here. I would not be surprised if other minorities, including Black people, are made to feel equally unwelcome. As an Eastern European, I’ve had two separate negative experiences here. Please, go try it for yourself — but know this: If they can’t adapt to the humanity of today’s world, they should not be in business. No place for racism. No place for sexism. Shame on those who let this become the norm. I appreciate your response, but I stand by what I experienced. It’s not just about one night or one staff member — it’s the overall atmosphere and how people like me, with a foreign accent, are treated. I’ve been there more than once, and both times I felt clearly unwelcome — not by a single person, but by the collective vibe and certain customers too. It’s easy to say you have “many different kinds of people” coming through, but when someone shares a different experience, brushing it off as “misleading” doesn’t help. I’m not here to argue — just sharing my real experience in hopes that places like yours take this as feedback and reflect on how to create a genuinely welcoming space for everyone, not just the regulars.

Ordered gluten free pasty , owner was lovely service was brilliant. But £6 for a pasty that wasn't even nice . I know they are warmed to order in a microwave which doesn't help but obviously to avoid cross contamination this needs to be done .

What a gem! Such friendly and warm people. I had a delicious quiche - home made! And a really good cuppacino . I loved the attention to detail with fresh flowers and really nice touches.

As my partner and I were in Plymouth we decided to have an ice cream so we stopped here what can I say this place is amazing the young man at Gertie's was funny and very helpful and knowledgeable I can't praise the shop any more loved everything if we are down this way again we will definitely pop in again

We decided to go here on a Saturday lunch time. After ordering our drinks the bar staff proceeded to tell us that they wouldn't be serving food until 2PM which was far too late for us. Seemed like a rip off, just wanted our money for the drinks. The manager was also sat there counting his money, this could have been done on a Monday afternoon when there aren't any customers. Won't be returning.

We went and visit Fabulous Burger Boyz last week prior to visiting the cinema (a little divert and out of the way) but Im glad we did. Don't listen to other reviews regarding the burgers not being fabulous, they were INCREDIBLE! I won't delve into too much detail and can only say go and experience them yourself. One thing i do recommend is the Pizza Fries! OMG, they were to die for. All in all a 'Fabulous' meal that didn't disappoint. Would recommend and will visit again.

Had a meatball pizza from the new Hunger fix wow wow wow would highly recommend. Unable to show a pic of it it was gone in minutes.
