Made a booking really looking forward to a good steak and find the place has closed down, even got an email confirmation. The website is still up and running, really disappointed after travelling down from Bath .. shambles
Absolutely delicious - I greedily ate the whole platter!(Did have a very early breakfast though!) So flavourful and non greasy - the onion pakoras were the best ever. I had to wait quite a while but that proves how popular this place is even in between Christmas and New year. Took me back to memories of trekking the Annapurna circuit.
Will be back soon
Genuinely the best staff and the best food out there. Perfect place for anyone but especially students. Today I tried Tina’s Christmas special toastie and it was the best thing I’ve ever tasted. Mind blown. I go so much I have a loyalty card so do recommend 😂
Came by this evening in search of supper. Fish Lounge including its off sales counter has been renamed as Ocean Lounge Some tables laid but not open to the public on this Thursday in mid June 2022.
This place is such a gem in the market. Please visit because I never thought I would enjoy this, but my son insisted and I had a bite and I was so surprised by how yummy her freshly made Korean Corn Dogs are. We have been back many time since- which is a testament to how good they are. Also very good value for money. Priced very well.
Likeable unassuming corner neighbourhood coffee shop, although I came for the repair of a leather strap on a bag. Met an affable guy, showed him the worn weak point and asked whether it was their type of work getting the response ‘ it’s what we do, run of the mill, pays the bills’ and I was told to come back midday tomorrow. I did but was told the right coloured piece of leather hadn’t arrived and I should return a day or so later. When I did it was not the cobbler but the friendly female server disappeared into another room returning quickly with bag which had the strap end bound roughly but tightly with strong dark thread. No comment or explanation. The charge was £10, less than I’d been warned. It solved my problem but I was a bit disappointed given the previous chat and more so because when I drove past a minute later I could see the cobbler behind the counter. It might seem petty and it hasn’t put me off ever returning, but he could have shown his face and told me what he’d done and whether it will hold up.
Stop off here weekly for coffee as it’s the best coffee in town. Staff are always super friendly and although a small shop always has a nice atmosphere.
Last few times I’ve gone to visit and passed by, the shop has been closed. Hope this is only temporary and not permanent!
The best thing about the food was that the portion size was good. Bland over-sweet sauce - probably from a jar. Dry meat. The merest gesture of salad - why bother? Cold plate so the food went cold quickly.
The service was poor, unhelpful and perfunctory. Their loud conversations on phones & with a visitor gained far more of their attention.
Reading all the gushing praise from all of the other reviewers, maybe I went on a bad day, maybe I missed something? Maybe the chef was having a day off?
I recently discovered Coffee Time through Instagram and decided to pay a visit. This place is truly a hidden gem. The service was exceptional, the food was reasonably priced, and the quality of ingredients was top-notch. It was all beautifully presented. Just make sure you get some pastel de nata for dessert!
I’m glad it’s not an all-you-can-eat, or I would have ended up devouring 20+ sausages—they were that good! Thank you so much for the warm hospitality and inviting me in. I’ll definitely be spreading the word.
Many thanks,
Alex (IG: FatFridaysPlymouth)
I found this stall a couple of years ago and travel from Torbay to visit it. My favourire dish that I have tried so far is the crispy belly pork, which is just awesome. Massaman curry (peanut based) is great too. So many nice dishes.
