Raffles in Plymouth

We have had a 60th and now a 30th birthday party here,both times were amazing. Lovely friendly place ,perfect for a party , lovely buffet nothing negative to say,highly recommend

New YEARS Eve! 2023! Was a let down we was promised a lift home as me and my mate had paid £10 upfront! Julie was extremely rude the Manager and also her daughter! My friend was going through bereavement aft losing her daughter of 8yrs old... my mate had to find her way home in the end! I stayed for a while longer at the pub for a terrible buffet the atmosphere wasn't brilliant we were shoved upstairs as downstairs wasnt ready not very organised properly for a new year occasion! :( no extra seating for people who have mobility and struggling to get a seat was a nightmare on top of it all we never had our refund back!!! For the offer of taxi home Julie said yes she drop us both home! I think it was better the Managers before who run this pub! We definitely won't be back and won't be recommending Julie's Pub!! That's not how you treat your customers :(

Friendly people and great service from helpful bar staff. Very good food and drinks which is reasonably priced.

OMG….what a FANTASTIC BUFFET….its the best buffet …I have ever had…the staff was brilliant…Julie and her great staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great night….the rooms upstairs was amazing….we all had a great night…we will b back….Thank u to Julie and her amazing staff….

A friendly club in central Plymouth with a wide selection of beers, good food and live sports. We spent New Year's Eve here and had a good time. Check out the Sunday Brunch Buffet or the all you can eat weekday buffets.

Always have a lovely time here, the staff are great, customers are friendly, drinks always taste great as does their food.

It's one of those places when you enter for the first time ( and consequent visits) you are treated extremely suspiciously. I am from the area and can tolerate this rudeness but I would imagine this could be very off putting to visitors or non locals. There were small signs of professionalism from certain members of staff but generally their attitude stems from the landlady who is very unfriendly which is a shame..

Quite new to Raffles, the owners treat you more like friends as strangers one of the best kept secrets in Plymouth. Went down for Christmas day dinner and was top notch, lovely people and lovely place xxx

We looked at many places for our Emmanuel church group to have a Sunday lunch on a regular basis. We are so happy we chose Raffles. Great carvery at a great price!!! Phil and Julie have been very flexible and accomodating to our unique requests. We thoroughly recommend Raffles to others.

Phil is so lovely. The place is always clean, the entertainment is good, the free food is magnificent. Very friendly place filled to the brim with very welcoming people.

Members only club, a bit dated but cozy. Be aware of you go in here do not swear or you will be asked to leave.

My friends and I have visited Raffles on a couple of occasions and have thoroughly enjoyed, Phil the owner is such a great guy, would not hesitate to recommend this venue, will be back.

Excellent atmosphere, thoughtful and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Buffet was varied, plentiful and well presented. Very good venue, easy access with near by parking. Thank you very much

Quick beverage stop off before a night out or on a Sunday afternoon. Not tried their carvery yet, but have live bands and a pool table. They are suspicious of new visitors and can be very off and talk down to you. A gentleman who said he owns the club was full not attitude while I sat getting a drink at the bar doing nothing untoward, which I made perfectly clear. Sorted the situation, but avoid if you are touchy over such situations. Can be like walking into a village pub of locals hating on the stranger, not a 'SOCIAL club' where you go for hassle free enjoyment after the grind.

For small private events on the very occasional quite night, the Raffles club offers first class hospitality and basket meals or buffet at a very reasonable price.

my husband and I had Sunday lunch here three days before Christmas. When we walked in we noticed right away how nice the tables were laid. I had garlic mushrooms for starters then a Christmas roast finished with sticky toffee pudding. The only difference to my husbands meal was he started with pate. We won this meal for two in a raffle. We will be back again as paying guest. A big thank you to Phil his last very granddaughter and staff. Wishing you all a very merry Christmas.

We had a very enjoyable Sunday Lunch. Very well cooked. The host made us feel very welcome. Very reasonably priced. Good atmosphere! Good for the community.

Raffles has comfortable surroundings, excellent food good variety of drinks. The owner, Phil Gill, does not allow swearing or unruly behaviour which adds to the ambiance.

Scott formally chef at the royal oak hooe is now the chef at raffles. Well done raffles for employing such a talented young chef . Your gain is the royal oaks loss. Looking forward to sampling lots more of scotts delicious freshly cooked food. HAPPY DAYS..

Got brought in by a local mate still at the university. Apparently this used to be the TAG association club and still has some of that flavour. But it probably now much more. On the night we came in it was heaving. All ages and types. There were various live performers including singers. It was a bit outside my usual social scene but entirely relaxed and constant fun. Don't know how it might be for a lone traveller. You might need someone who knows to take you along. Recommended.

Near the railway just off Mutley Plain, this is a lively, homely and busy set up, with a lot going on, and an improving menu of straightforward tasty food. Good bunch of people and welcoming to younger members of families. I was brought here by a work colleague, enjoyed myself and have since looked at the wen site which gives a very rounded and accurate picture and flavour of the place.
