Beautiful setting but the service was so slow. Queued 25 mins for a coffee and cake which was disappointing. Coffee was really bitter and croissant dry and tasteless - you’d get better from a buying in a supermarket. Was looking forward to eventually having a coffee but it wasn’t great

Good afternoon , just want to give some feedback to our disappointing visit to Passeys today . We booked for breakfast and everyone in our group agreed that half the breakfast was cold or warm at the best . One breakfast had a hair in it also . This is not good at all for the premium price charged . We have been several times before as a group of six or less with no problems. I wanted to discuss with the lady serving but one of our group did not want to cause a scene so we just paid and left . This used to be our go to place on Sunday morning . It’s the most expensive breakfast in Portobello, and the quality of food does not now justify the price . We won’t be back .

Pleasant ambiance, warm hospitality, delicious food and service with a smile. That is how I would sum up the Long Story Bistro experience. I love coming here to catch up with my friends just for a blether over a luscious cake and a cup of coffee which is truly divine. The food is exceptional too, from traditional to vegetarian, vegan and other healthy choices. Nobody ever struggles to choose. But like any place of hospitality, it is the people who make it. And the staff here certainly go out of their way to make you want to come back for more. So we shall 😉!

There is now a restaurant trading as Cafe Sol at this address. We only went because Rainbow's End next door is shut on Wednesdays, but it's very good! I had halloumi wrap with Greek salad and sweet potato chips aka fries, which were good anyway, but the best thing I had was their home-made elderflower lemonade, which had more body than most elderflower drinks yet was still refreshing. The service is rather on the relaxed side but don't let the put you off!

After reading the reviews I thought this would be the place to go whilst in the area but I was wrong. You can park right outside which is a good point. The food and service was fast another good point. The first gripe is it is like stepping back 20 years. They want you to pay cash, fair enough, however it is plastered everywhere. A4 pieces of paper stuck to every window, every door, all over the counter and everywhere else you can imagine you telling you to pay cash and the reasons for that. Get with the times and if you dont want to get with the times then request the customer pays cash via one sign at the till, not stuck to everyone, slightly surprised staff were not wearing T shirts requesting cash only as well. Food was not up to scratch. The chips had a weird brown blemish on pretty much all of them and they were therefore binned.

On entering the restaurant through a small door, unwelcoming staff, no interaction with customers or children, menu was okay, not enough healthy vegan options, would not be recommending too my work colleagues, friends and family, my words would be AVOID

We have very few “go-to” places, but Fattso has been a firm favourite on that list for a few years now. They are consistent in the quality, flavours and textures. There are without a doubt the best burgers, ANYWHERE. Friendly team always working hard. Normally a queue, but a great burger is worth the wait. Always ask what specials they have. Tonight I had the Oklahoma. Previously, the Baby Blue. But the Fattso hits the spot on the regular menu. There are vegetarian options too. My wife’s choice is the Big Fat Hello (halloumi) burger.

Lovely garden area which allowed dogs. Despite a little delay the food was excellent. Ploughman's for my husband and a cream tea for me. Super staff and delicious food

Was walking to go and get a breakfast at weatherspoons when we came across this cafe and decided to give it a try instead, so glad we did. Lovely, freshly cooked breakfast that was just the right size, service was great from the two ladies and the offer to refill our tea pot was greatly appreciated.
