There is now a restaurant trading as Cafe Sol at this address. We only went because Rainbow's End next door is shut on Wednesdays, but it's very good! I had halloumi wrap with Greek salad and sweet potato chips aka fries, which were good anyway, but the best thing I had was their home-made elderflower lemonade, which had more body than most elderflower drinks yet was still refreshing. The service is rather on the relaxed side but don't let the put you off!

Having visited this establishment many times over the years it's a regular stop off point when in Glastonbury. But since being taken over by the Glastro cafe things have changed and dramatically improved. Great selection of freshly cooked food, brilliant personal service and at a sensible price unlike many places up and down the high street. Unbelievable pancakes that make the drive down worth it alone. Never miss an opportunity to visit and get the bacon pancakes. If your lucky enough to get a table this place is a real hidden gem.

Stopped here on a family trip to Glastonbury. Only three tables were occupied at the time. Was served straight away but the lady taking orders could not find a copy of their children's menu. After waiting an age my husband's food arrived , the remaining meals came 15 minutes later by his time my husband had ate his food alone. Jacket potatoes were hard and my son's fish fingers were stuck together like a deformed hand !! Trying to pay the bill was another chore . The server could not use the iPad to add up the bill and it took 10 minutes of waiting to leave the cafe !! Would not recommend.

Exceptional Breakfast. My partner and I visited the Glasto Cafe on the day after the summer solstice. I had the Biggie and my partner had maple bacon pancakes. The coffee was excellent and the pancakes were delicious. Brilliant cafe set in Glastonbury. Slightly inconspicuous location however well worth finding. We've had breakfast here 3 days and they couldn't have been more accommodating in terms of our orders. Anywhere that gives you the option of beans separate in a dish is good. We reckon this is the most reasonably priced breakfast on the High Street and the people who run it are very friendly. Smoothies are fresh and fruit pancakes are to die for

We called in for lunch after climbing Glastonbury Tor. We ordered 2 x soup and a portion of chips for our two young children to share. The service was very slow and we ended up waiting for half an hour for our order. The soup was watery, fairly bland and the portions were small, it was also fairly pricey and didn't have highchairs or room for a pushchair indoor, forcing us to sit outside. We are and left pretty quickly as it was rather chilly, as we left we heard another people complaining about the wait for their food, maybe just a bad day but we will not be returning.

I was happy to finally find a cafe in Glastonbury where I could have a meat dinner, rather than a walnut on a bed of cardboard . I had roast pork, which was acompanied with roasters, peas, stuffing, parsnips and carrots. They do offer various meat options. I'm quite fussy about my roast dinners, but I have to say I was impressed by the portion size and the fact it was not all baked to death, Even though it was late in the day. Everything was home cooked, rather than from a packet. It is also a lovely warm place to sit in on a cold day. I had a glass of chardonnay which complemented my Sunday Roast. Glastro cafe are fully licensed to sell alcohol. The cafe is set off the high street in monarch way which makes it easy to get to from St John's car park. I would highly recommend the roast (sunday) dinners to anyone. My wife was also happy to have someone cook dinner for a change.

Been here a few times now as the chef is very allergy aware and food is cooked from scratch. The breakfast is filling and cooked any way you like it. I am limited due to allergies but I go nowhere else in Glastonbury now. Also noticed the comment about no no baked potato.. seriously? The clue is in the name....BAKED.. microwaved is just horrible, dry and tacky. Puds should always be baked in an over in stages...yes I am a chef too.I would recommend glastro café. To anyone. The owners are lovely and it's like a little piece of Italy in Somerset.

It confuses me why people pre cook jacket potatoes then reheat them to order. You can tell just by looking at it, the skin becomes greasy and the flesh brown. You can cook a jacket potato in a microwave for a number of minutes and it will come out the same quality as one that's been cooking in the oven for an hour. So why reheat it when you can cook it fresh!? Don't get me wrong i'm not into eating microwaved food but i'd rather it was freshly cooked in a microwave then precooked and reheated. Its such a shame that too many places make this same mistake when its an easy simple meal. However the side salad was fresh and the place itself is in a lovely little quiet location away from the main road.

We visited the Glastro Cafe for Sunday breakfast/brunch. Tucked away off the high street, down a narrow alley, it's not an obvious place to find and, on a chilly winter morning, empty until we took the conservatory area over (12 of us!) On the other hand, it's easily accessed from the central car park (St John's Square?)The staff/owners did well to deal with our range of requirements with unfailing good humour. Service wasn't lightning fast, but we weren't in any hurry and, yes, the establishment is small enough that one man cooking in the kitchen is all it will bear. Well, the food was worth the wait and didn't seem to take too long to arrive, given the numbers. We particularly enjoyed the toasted brown seeded bread – cut nicely thick. As for my coeliac/celiac wife: her enquiry about gluten free fare was met with calm understanding and assurances that there would be no problem in providing a modified breakfast devoid of gluten. She was even offered extra bacon to make up for the missing sausage. For some reason I was seized by the desire to give the vegetarian breakfast a try and found it every bit as tasty as the carnivorous version looked! Good coffee too!The breakfasts weren't huge, but at £6.50 were good value and you can 'upsize' for a couple of extra quid anyway. Mine kept me going for most of the day.We can recommend a visit – the rest of the menu looks well worth trying, so maybe if we return to Glastonbury we'll give lunch a try next.

I'm a regular customer of this cafe now. It's my favourite breakfast spot in Glastonbury at the moment. I've taken family and friends there and we've all enjoyed our meals so it seems to offer reliable quality. Although I've only ever eaten from the breakfast menu, the lunch menu also looks pretty tempting. I like the fact that they emphasise that their chips, pesto etc are homemade. It appears to be run by the owners and I'd say this is the difference between this cafe and others in the area - you know that they care about the food and service etc because it is THEIR restaurant and THEIR reputation at stake. I think that's probably why I like this cafe so much.I also like the comfortable, bohemian feeling of the place, with its cosy conservatory at the back.

This cafe itself is quite small but does have plenty of seating if you count the conservatory and outdoor area (though wasps can be a bit of a nuisance out there on a sunny day). The service was polite and efficient and I had a very enjoyable prawn baguette with salad. There was a decent range of sandwiches, soups and light meals offered as well as hot and cold drinks. I did find the fruit juice glass on the small side and would perhaps choose a different drink if eating there again. This cafe is built into an interesting historical building down an arcade called Monarch Way off the high street in Glastonbury, and is a nice, quiet place to eat as the seating areas are not out at the front. As the indoor space is accessed down a steep step and tables quite close together it may not suit families with buggies or wheelchair users. However, I would recommend for a light lunch.

From the reviews I was expecting to be wowed for breakfast. Pleasant little cafe - friendly owners/staff - open, light comfortable interior and seating outside. Coffee was nice and juices were a notable bonus! For me, the lunch menu was a bit limited but I enjoyed a tasty enough warmed baguette with a side salad dressed well with balsamic. I enjoyed the quiet to read the paper and eat my lunch. The service was polite but not particularly friendly which is something mentioned in other reviews. It was also slow for an order of one sandwich. We dropped in mid afternoon when the cafe was quiet, and waited well over an hour for our food. The lady serving was lovely, friendly and obliging, but it's clear from reading other reviews that the kitchen can be rather disorganised. The food when it eventually came was a bit of a mixed bag (I was disappointed with my veggie burger, which was a vegetable burger out of a packet, deep fried) but the home made pancakes, smoothies and quiche were very good. What a shame - it's in a lovely spot with a pretty outside space. I first discovered Glastro back when they first opened...can't remember when that was actually...and they have consistently impressed me from day one! The location is cosy, tucked away down a little corridor off the high street. The decor is fabulous, very eclectic, colourful, and gorgeous. Even the plates and cups are stunning! And the food...beautifully prepared and presented, delicious, and a total bargain- and as the wife of the head chef at one of the biggest pubs in town, as well as being myself the deputy manager of probably the busiest cafe in town, my praise doesn't come easily. I recommend Glastro to all my friends, as well as to some of my own customers who want to eat breakfast late in the day (they serve brekkie til four). And last but not least, the owner is a lovely lady who makes everyone feel welcome, and always greets me with a smile, even if I'm just dining on my own and taking up a whole table (like today, even though it was a busy Sunday!) (veeeeerry nice!)It is a lovey Café and for a fair price you get a really good plate of food and with that said I will be heading back there on my next walk to the high street.

We regularly eat at glastro all year round because every since we started coming here they have always offered consistently good service and food. Very patient and kind with my challenging toddler and always willing to accommodate his tastes. If you plan to come to Glastonbury it's worth adding a morning breakfast trip or a lunch time stop. They even do health shakes and juices, as well as seasonal events.

I was in Glastonbury for the day with friends. As we are regular visitors to the town we were looking for somewhere different to grab a bite to eat for a change. We saw the sign for Glastro from the car park on arriving to Glastonbury so made sure we returned when we got peckish. We were pleasantly surprised with this little gem of a place. It had a great selection of food and at really good prices. Not only that but the décor was brilliant, a real homely earthy feel. The service was great and we were really made to feel welcome. After asking the staff about Glastro we were aware of its location being off of the main high street so not a lot of people like us knew it was even there. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to let everyone know its well worth looking for. We will definitely be returning again and look forward to more homemade cakes and lovely tasty food. Well done Glastro! :)

Popped in for a quick coffee whilst shopping. Really friendly people and a great looking menu. I only had a coffee (and free biscuit) but the other food being served around me looked lovely.I shall return :-)

Found this delightful cafe just off the High Street in Glastonbury. I had a cheese and bacon burger which was fantastic, the home-made chips were great and the balsamic drizzle over the salad was a nice touch. My friend enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast which looked great to me, but next time I am there I will be having the all day breakfast.

We found Glastro by accident as it is tucked away down an alley off the High Street. we later found out that there is direct access from the car park behind it. D'oh!Good selection of light meals, including homemade specials etc. We had the veggie lasagne and salad (for £4.95) . Absolutely delicious and the salad was comprehensive, attractive and dressed in a clearly fresh and homemade dressing. Best of all - they know how to make a proper cup of Tea. Dog friendly too, as part of Glastro is "outside" - under a big gazebo. We will eat there for sure if we visit Glastonbury again.

After climbing the Tor we arrived back in Glastonbury ready for lunch, but at 3pm, a lot of places had shut, or were vegetarian only, or had no outdoor seating. This place was perfect, and the food was great too. I had simple double cheeseburger, but it was really tasty, lots of cheese, and not too much bun, just enough to keep your hands off the burger ! Salad and home made chips completed the plate. My wife had the all day veggie breakfast which was very good too, not greasy, a bit of everything, including tea. Excellent service, and wth my cold drink, the total was £13. You cant go wrong there.

Called in and had a Lamb sausage roll, a Brie and bacon sandwich along with a cherry danish. Probably the best tasting combination of food that I have ever had from a bakery. Can’t wait to go back.

Taking into consideration its location, its staff, its cuisine, its ambiance, its clientele and not forgetting its log fire, The Strode Arms in the village of Cranmore is quite possibly the best place for miles around to go out to for a relaxed and enjoyable evening meal. Charming hostess, busy chef, imaginative and tastefully presented food and a splendid time being had by one and all.

By far the best fish and shop in Street. The young lady who serves is lovely and polite and the young lad is a good member of the staff. They remember what i order every time which is amazing service. Would recommend to everyone.
