Star Fish Bar in Mendip

By far the best fish and shop in Street. The young lady who serves is lovely and polite and the young lad is a good member of the staff. They remember what i order every time which is amazing service. Would recommend to everyone.

This is by far the best fish and chips in the village. Fish is wonderful. Best to go when they have been open for about 1.5 hrs in order to get the best chips. Very good staff and great service. Nice to see them encouraging cash!

Used the fish bar two weeks ago and they were excellent. But went there Friday night about 6pm. When we opened the food the fish was excellent but the chips were very poor . In the chips were some nice chips but there was a lot of chips broken in half and they were very hard on the outside and inside as if they have been cooked twice . A shame as usually they are very nice . If you are recooking chips I would not cause they are not nice . Hopefully this is of use to you ?

Food isn’t bad for a take away but every time we visit you get asked to pay cash which makes it uncomfortable so we end up going to other take away in street.

I must point out first of all that there was nothing wrong with the food, it was all fine and the staff were also good…however there was a copy of “The Light” on the counter- which is a conspiracy theory rag, full of Trump-type BS, anti vax, Covid denier etc. Therefore my experience was extremely negative (as it was there due to one of the staff). Sharing crackpot, dangerous propaganda like this means I won’t be returning and I feel it’s only fair to share this with other potential customers. It insults anyone that lost someone due to covid and I personally can’t support any business that openly propagates these lies. Everyone is entitled to their own view but I don’t need it shared with me.

Friendly and always prompt service here. Fish and chips are superb, can’t fault them, best in the area!

Starfish Fish and Chip shop is great value for money (what ever you choose), good size portions and always cooked fresh. Staff very polite and helpful,only fish and chip shop we go to in street

Having been here on numerous occasions, fish and chips usually fab, today not so great cold chips and tepid fish The prices have just gone up so please be as good as normal and not disappoint like today it was not the best experience I have had

What a great chippy! We have been here regularly and the quality, temperature and value is always outstanding. The staff are friendly too 😊 I would definitely recommend Star Fush Bar in Street.

Excellent fish and chip shop, very good value and huge portions, can usually eat for 2 days after coming here, what els can say come and try it for yourself.

Quarter Pounder Cheese meal, fish and Chips and a pensioners portion of the same. Fantastic quality and value will definitely use again!

We have tried 3 Chip shops in Street.The first had miserable staff and average food.The second had pleasant staff and average food.The third was Star Fish and chips.The staff were very pleasant the food was lovely.Large chips was big enough for a family of 10.The medium fish was huge with really nice white cod and crispy batter.It was so good we are returning next week.The fish and chips rank amongst the best we have found in the south west.Well done Star Fish and Chips

My husband has been craving chip shop fishing & chips .Its Been 3months since we have had any .We don’t normally come to Street . Some friends of ours recommended going here however . We are so glad we did .Wonderful fish (it was still crispy by the time we got home !)Chips ,best we have had for ages ...not withstanding current lockdown Restrictions The staff were friendly ,And polite .Good value for money .Distancing appeared well organised .But it wasn’t raining . I highly recommend however .....we shall go again for sure .

Great quality food everytime I've been without fault. Friendly staff and efficient. I've tried every chippie in Street and the only one who comes remotely close is the Park Fish & Chips. Try Star Fish Bar you won't be disappointed.

The fish is quite large compared to other local chip shops. It is fresh, excellent quality and cooked well.The chips are well cooked and very large portions.Friendly, efficient service but due to popularity there may be a short wait during peak periods.We are blessed with several good chippies in Street and Glastonbury but this is the best.

We had the OAP Cod and Chips, one with curry sauce, one with peas. They were delicious. Huge portions. We'll definitely go back...

This fish shop.. I don’t know where to start ... first of all need more appreciation they are amazing!! Staff are so friendly and smiley and the food is GORGEOUS huge portions but also have options to go with what you would like, for example want fish n chips but don’t want loads of chips get an oap portion. The fish is golden and the nuggets are fresh more people in street, Bridgwater and all over need to visit this chip shop..... there may be other star fish bars but believe me street is the way to go! WELL DONE GUYS!

This is by far the best fish and chip shop in bridgwater and with a family of 7 we do like our take aways. The nuggets r proper nuggets. The fish is amazing. Burgers r lush.... just everything is spot on. Really nice people that run it and very on the ball. Portion sizes r exceptional so you won't go hungry. Nor do my dogs hehe. Been coming here since they opened last year and never has let me down at all. Would defo recommend this place. Everyone in my family love it. Well done guys you've done a good job... keep it up.
