The best restaurants serving British food in South West

Has been closed for years, it is semi derelict,a great shame as it would be a great place for the village if it would be able to be done up.

Serving the premier inn on the outside of Chippenham, this Brewers Fayre is a place that garuntees to give you a good meal. Despite it being a 'order at the bar' restaurant, the food that is served in this restaurant is exceptionally good. Breakfast and dinner had great prices and the food we were served was delicious. Special mention to Florin and his team who work exceptionally hard to ensure all their customers needs are looked after.

A lovely old fashioned pub, with pleasant helpful staff. Service was very good and very fast. Food was cooked to perfection. A meal enjoyed by all in our group.

Arrived on Thursday for quick bite to eat and was surprised with how beautiful the decor and how friendly the staff especially the one with the beard and curly hair who went out of his way to help us with the menu options Food was lovely and price was perfect too

Our Sunday lunch was excellent with good food and good service. After many years of poor performance the inn is now back to the high standards of 20 or more years ago.

Food is fine if a tad expensive but... But the coke in a glass is dreadful. Did ask for full fat ie- cokacola version though obviously it was a mixer tap. Awful taste and so much so when we left our table to go outside I could see quite a few glasses of left coke on various tables. So it wasn't just me then. Please sort your mixer out or better still get in coke brand by the bottle

A great Sunday dinner for the 4 of us, would definitely return 5*

i’m not surprised that it shut down seriously use to get there at least two times a week but honestly the last 3 times my friend and myself went for lunch around 1-1.30 they said they had no spuds life ? really no spuds ? sure it was a james martain place ? ps there were others shocked on these occasions to

Barmaid was quite unfriendly, it seemed like it was too much trouble to smile. Food was over cooked. Chicken burger, cod and bean burger obviously cooked together for far too long and just tasted of oil. Gammon was tough. Didn’t order pudding as we were put off by the mains!

Amazing Sunday lunch. The gravy was the best I’ve ever tasted and generous quantity. Lovely deserts too. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. A special mention for Amy who was very efficient. Look forward to returning for pie and chips and hopefully some more of that gravy!

We ordered from Britannia Kebab recently and were really impressed. We had the doner kebabs, lahmacun, and battered sausages everything was spot on! The kebabs were juicy and well-seasoned, the lahmacun had that authentic flavour with a crisp base, and the battered sausages were perfectly cooked and not greasy at all. The portion sizes were generous, the food arrived hot and fresh, and the service was excellent. The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome, whether you’re ordering in person or over the phone. Definitely one of the best takeaways in Swindon 👌🏻 highly recommended!

Went here on Christmas Day for lunch and the food was excellent you had a choice of starters and main and dessert followed by coffee and mins pies, the servers was excellent and you were not hurried between coarse, the staff where very helpful and could not do enough for you. The drink prices where very, and to top it all there was an open fire which was great. It lived in area would use a lot more one of the best pubs we have been in for sometime.

Just visited for a lunch on a Monday afternoon. I had the Katsu Curry and my partner had the steak tortilla. Both were exceptional, hot and full of flavour. The service was friendly and efficient and we look forward to visiting again, many times!!!!!
