Cane here for lunch whilst out shopping. £19 for 2 potatoes and 2 drinks , to add insult , potatoes really small .. crazy price even in these times .. avoid !

Dried up beans and the curry you get 5 small bits of chicken staff are rude and the lady if that’s what you call her mouth is vile scratching her head eeeee then dished my food I felt sick

I would go here regularly on my lunch break because it’s quiet and the food fine, albeit expensive. But I’m so fed up now with it either being closed early at like 2.30pm (if i have a late lunch), or only taking cash which it’s so often, it’s like the guys that work there make it up. Today was last straw at 1.30pm to be queuing for 10 minutes to then be told by one guy there was a 5 minute wait on potatoes, to then be told by another guy it was a 30 minute wait! At lunchtime not having potatoes?!? Lost customer for sure.

Ordered a meal deal to go. Fair pricing for size. Potato was perfectly cooked! Staff were very polite and friendly. Shame it was so quiet, I think it may be the placement of the shop at the top of Drake Circus, too much out the way. Great for a quick lunch stop.

We had the pie mushy peas gravy special which we enjoyed even though it was a Saturday lunch time felt sorry for the 1 girl who was taking the orders , doing the drinks and the till which obviously meant a queue built up, along with the 2 other members of staff who were cooking and cleaning tables but were still smiling can't be easy when very busy

Sad choice for fillings the 3 boys behind the counter very rude almost intimidating. Laughing and looking at you while you wait. Chuck's a tray on the side with a napkin and chucks potato on it and walks off okay assume that's everything. Will deffo not return again. Poorly run

very expensive for the amount of toppings you get, prawn marie had no flavour and even had cabbage in it! baked potatoes was plain no seasonings. Though the other potatoes toppings were enjoyed

Good food but the man serving was big and very wet face the sweat was bad and he kept wiping it and serving with no ppi gloves hygiene was 0 %

Service was amazing, staff so nice and helpful. All seemed to work well together. Tidy and clean restaurant. Just disappointed that the price didn't exactly match the size of the meal.

Pretty shocking visit. We arrive to 1 other family in eating. No staff to be seen out the the front of the restaurant. We queued along with another family for over 10 minutes until we shouted hello to which 3 staff put their phones down and arrived with no apology for the delay. Potato's were okay although had hard spots in them. All in all wasn't the best experience and left feeling disappointed.

I'm genuinely gobsmacked at James Martin putting his name on this. He must be embarrassed or really struggling. I was sat eating my squidgy jacket potato on a terrible plastic plate which gets cut through by the knife with soggy garlic bread and wilted lettuce thinking I wonder what he would think if he actually rocked up unannounced and ate in one of these. I chose the Prawn cocktail as the Prawns looked big and juicy on the screens. They were like Tesco sandwich Prawns... and not the tesco finest range! Still wondering who's terrible advice that was....

Great service, great food and really friendly staff. I think their opening times change pretty regularly but they’re a great store, they all deserve raises and promotions :)

The one thing I used to genuinely like about this place beforehand was... Coronation Chicken. James has removed this in favour of a whole variety of cheesy stuff in the Favourites Menu and some other things he claims to be James Martin signature dishes...like James Martin Chilli con Carne and James Martin Parwn Cocktail. I had the Daal (sic) ...it wasn't very good...a muddy taste with nothing very much to offer. This was complicated by the baked potatoes from Bartlett, which were woeful...tasteless. I had a meal deal...the crisps were good

Ur staff r terrible very rude and smelt of alcohol and saw a white substance drop out of her pocket I think her name was Lauren or Lucy couldn’t c of the name tag

This has now rebranded to “Spud U Like! by James Martin”. I don’t know who James Martin is, but his spud I do not like. Spud 101: it needs to be hot and crispy. Not lukewarm and soft on the outside. It also needs a lot of butter: none provided. The best thing about the meal was the garlic bread side and the Coke Zero. Decent service, too. But the meal itself was underwhelming.

Absolutely loved the place but was so disappointed today, jacket potato with chilli is what I always have but today it was rank, meat was lumps of fat and absolutely tasteless. Don't think I'll be back for a long time .

Don’t bother going if your want a potato. Went at 2pm and they had sold out of potato’s! You’d think a jacket potato shop would have a plentiful supply of potato’s.

Quite disappointed with my meal, the baked beans and cheese were sparse...the beans themselves were tiny, more the size of peas! The entire meal was tasteless. Unfortunately the premises were rather tatty and could do with a good clean.

I am not one to normally write a negative review, but never have I ever experienced service as bad as this. On arrival, we were ‘greeted’ by a member of staff who initially didn’t communicate with us when placing an order at the counter. She/he then proceeded to roll their eyes at us several times for no apparent reason as we were talking to them to order, which was extremely unprofessional and embarrassing for us. It was a shame as it was our first experience here after it had rebranded and we were quite looking forward to it. On the plus side, the food was actually quite tasty (I had the butter chicken potato) and the food came out fast (most likely because they were empty), hence giving a generous star. I’d love to go back just for the food, but will not be returning due to the atrocious service.

Got to be honest the food is rubbish paid £16 for two meals. will never set foot in there again. can't believe i paid for it but you live and learn lol.

Left a positive review in October 2020 but completely different review being left today. This outlet has most definitely gone downhill in the last 12 months. We will not be returning again. Small potato, served in a plastic takeaway container, with hardly any filling. Overpriced and not worth half of what we were charged. Very disappointed.

I haven’t been in Spudulike for years. I had a memory that they did good jacket potatoes?! These were literally the worst! £10.50 for two dry potatoes that tasted like they had been microwaved. The tuna/sweetcorn was so revolting - it was 5% tuna and 95% watery Mayo. Grim! My daughter had cheese and beans and couldn’t finish it. Genuinely the worst jacket potatoes. Needless to say we won’t be bothering again.

The food it's self was nice, however we place our order before these two young lads and they got food before us. This is unfair specially when we sat waited 20 mins for the Spud's to cook.

Regularly visit this outlet whilst shopping in the city centre. Always good food and excellent service. Spotlessly clean. Would like to mention the chap who runs it. So pleasant, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Excellent service every time.

A great place to have something a little different. It's refreshing to have warm yet healthy food. My family and I love it here and don't eat anywhere else in Drake's X It's a little expensive but what do you expect for good quality food.

Just had lunch here as have just re-opened after sudden closure a couple of months ago the spuds are still very nice but we were disappointed that the cutlery is now plastic as was the bowl it was served in although plant based biodegradable plastic but it's not as easy to cut baked potato skins as with metal cutlery on a proper plate

Happy to see the old place brought back to life with the promise of better stuff on the menu. AB seem to have been quietly reopening various branches of the old chain and now it’s Plymouth’s turn.

OMG prawn mayo jackets are the best!

This site had recently undergone a bit of modest redecoration. The baked potato with various fillings formula has not changed much for years. At the beginning of August 2019 it was announced that the company has gone into administration and all units in the UK have closed. Administrators have a duty to minimise any losses to creditors and maybe find a purchaser for all or part of the business. There seem to be no predictions yet that suggest that any of the cafes may reopen.

I am a regular to this store and the reason why I am is because of the staff. They are always so polite and friendly. When I come in the staff are always working hard with out fail, there’s never anyone who’s not doing they’re job. If there is ever any issues they always resolve it!! They are always so kind and constantly of assistants. I recommend Spudulike Plymouth, because the food is always brilliant and so are the staff. Thank you for making my day just that little bit better, I needed it xxxxx

Minimal chilli on potatoe, dry, and moody girl serving. Wont be going back again.

Visited to and will never return to this eatery! Lady in black shirt - manager - is plain rude. No enthusiasm at all towards her unit, very blunt and a negative and robot-like nature about her. The tall boy with a loud voice too is very rude and has no consideration in regards to customers.This boy shouted across the restaurant causing a disturbance whilst myself and my friend were eating and decided to laugh and joke with his manager over it. Misleading menu, overpriced food and horrible staff. SpudUlike!!! Why would you hire such people?!/

Slow service small potatoes not a lot of filling not value for money lady in black shirt I assume she is the manager is rude to staff and customers will never return avoid this place I would rather go to Burger King

I always eat here when I go shopping in Plymouth. Its a healthy and tasty alternative to lots of the other eateries in the area. There is something on the menu for everybody and lots of seating. Well priced and you get a good portion size for what you pay for. I go nuts for this place

Used to be better, prices rising fast . Chilli you get half the amount you used to mostly gravy and used to have cheese. Service still quick and good however.

It is really frustrating when restaurants and eateries get customer service so wrong. When we came here for lunch the staff informed us there were ‘delivery issues’ and as such several items from the menu they were unable to provide. The menus suggest from their display that adding certain items (pictures in a starred circle) from the menu will provide a saving, when in fact they don’t. The staff were unable to effectively explain the menu. And despite having things missing, nothing was offered in good will to make up for this. Wish I had gone to Burger King next door.

We ordered a jacket with tuna and sweetcorn. The topping was icy cold, it was 90% corn and very little tuna. The potato was small and it was not easy to cut with the plastic knife and fork.

Lovely alternative to other fast food

I went here with my young daughter today. I ordered a jacket potato with Coronation chicken, and ordered her a half jacket with beans and cheese from the kid’s menu.The tray that they served the food on was really dirty (remnants of food all over it), upon which they put (what, in fairness, looked to be clean) cutlery. The baby highchair was also disgusting - I took it from the stack of chairs in the corner, but it was covered in mashed up potato and other food. The highchair tray was better, but also dirty. Everything had to be cleaned by me first, which is not the easiest thing to do when you are juggling a tray of food and a toddler. My potato was fine - a little bland, but ok. My daughter’s one had a strange taste to the baked beans, and she refused to eat it.I definitely won’t be returning.

I went into the venue in the afternoon with my friend her daughter and my 15 month old son. I ordered myself the crushed potato with Greek salad option and asked for portion of chicken for my son. The chap behind the counter said I couldn’t have just a portion of chicken, there’s no way to put it through the till. So I asked if he could check in with someone who may know how. He popped to ask his manager who allegedly said no. Consequently I didn’t order any food. Sadly I’m not shocked at the poor service, I’ve never been overly impressed with it to date. Spud u like. This was my last visit. Utter nonsense, bored, unhelpful and gormless looking staff. The manager didn’t even come to speak to me herself.

First visit and Plymouth spuds excellent

First time to a spud u like in Plymouth. Cost a tenner. No butter in the bottom so it was really dry. Not as crisp as I would like. Had about 3 strands of cheese for a portion. Was bunged into a naff bag as it was take out. Had to ask for a fork. Drink cost £1.89 for a teeny tiny pespi max.

Visited spudulike today as it is the only place I tend to go for lunch.Astounded that spudulike can run out of cooked potatoes. Stood in queue was asked if I was having potatoes or salad as they only had so many due to high demand earlier. This was 12.45 they had no cooked potatoes hard to believe such a establishment can run out so early at lunchtime. If I hadn't mentioned I wanted two and not one due to being there with my dad I would have waited to only find out they hadn't enough. No wonder they got less establishments then they did a few years ago. Think after using this place for so long I b going elsewhere as there every chance I won't get any lunch.

We were looking for a place to eat, for a snack, prior to visiting the theatre, to see Miss Saigon (was amazing).

It is great healthy jacket potato.

Ate here today and had the chicken ceasar option and it was really nice. My mum had the cheese and beans potato and really enjoyed it. Marked it down as selection of drinks were limited.

Could do with being a bit bigger

Service was excellent - very friendly and courteous staff, but sadly the quality of food wasn't brilliant. I had a tuna and sweet corn mayo jacket and I would say that the sweetcorn is quite a cheap make as it was rather chewy with the odd bit of husk thrown in for good measure. It was perfectly acceptable for the price though.

Visit Spudulike almost weekly - always been excellent value for month with a large sized potatoes and a healthy portion of egg mayo for under a fiver. Visited this week to be greeted with a 70p - £1 price increase on all menu items, yet the service, portion size and cleanliness of the table's remain the same average it's always been, Won't be returning I'm afraid!

Great place to get a Jacket Potato, with a variety of different toppings. Clean and tidy. A breath of fresh air , you in a fast food market filled with burgers and fries.

Eating here for a long time. Just got worse! Expensive for what you get! How can anyone justify 1.10 for just a scattering of cheese on top as an extra. No cottage cheese today they ran out. And so long to serve. Will think twice about coming in here again.

The manager was so rude and aggressive to his staff it was shocking to see. If he is like that in front of customers what is he like when they're not there? Food is fine (but expensive for what it is) just won't be spending my money in an establishment which demonstrates them values towards staff!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Spuds with fillings. We both had chilli on ours and they were perfectly edible. Nothing special but good enough. Better than the BK next door.

Went here for lunch while shopping in Drake's circus and was pleasantly surprised by the amount and quality. We both had jacket potatoes, one with cheese and chives the other with normal cheese and pickle. Both were good and hot, good portions and well presented. Coffees were reasonable quality and not too expensive. Will return.

Didn't want anything heavy for lunch so my friend and i decided on the jacket potatoe although they had run out of our first choice of filling what we did have was lovely potatoes were large and you get a really generous helping of filling can quite honestly say i was full up when i finished.
