Very helpful young male staff worker.

Glad to see the miles arms back to how it was great beers n food luvly jubbly

I went down to the Miles Arms because they had the Fury v Usyk fight. I met up with a few friends and people I didn't know who became friends. I had a draw for £5 at 11/1 so £60 I didn't win £60 but I did get something for the fight go the distance. Fury dominated the first 6 rounds but then Usyk started coming into his own own and wore Fury down. In fact he should have knocked Fury out in the 9th round when he was saved by the bell. Even though the referee gave him a standing count. Then Fury got clever and jabbed Usyk till the end of the bout. The 1st Judge had Fury the 2nd had Usyk and the 3rd also had Usyk so he is now the Champion of the World 🌍 The 1st boxer to hold all 5 belts since Lennox Lewis 25 years. So basically I had a Fantastic night in the Miles Arms. No doubt I will be returning in the very near future.

Good grief. Now under new private ownership? No longer a Black Rose chain pub? Manager not a clue about what the owner has in plan or what future holds? But will, at least in part, stay a pub??? Sports bar side of pub currently under refurbishment, so a good sign of things to come? Canned booze only ATM no pumps.

Under new ownership which as improved the place, prices are great and good selection of drinks. Hope they start doing food.

Not great food as they don't serve any but good snacks. New management, they are selling soon. However, new management is amazing. Staff is way better, services, options, snacks. Martin has done an amazing job to turn it around. Still wish there was hot food, but it is what it is. If you're reading this review, this is for the now. I fear that if Martin leaves, things get a lot worse.

Welcoming pub. More larger than real ale. Pleasant lady served the drinks and knew her when a wine was no longer suitable to drink as the bottle had been opened and standing for a long time. A fresh unopened bottle was served up. Good value prices. Unfortunately, food is no longer served here. Packed of crisps yes. Plenty of room, Sky Sports for the big occasion. Situated on The High Street. Parking is often limited and road systems a little complex due to the One Way System. TV was showing a Golden Oldie - Are you being served. A bot different:) Music in the background was varied standards across different timezones. Plenty of drink for your money but alas Real Ale not one of them.

Went to the Miles arms today what a change the outside tidy bar staff friendly and didn't close early had a great night Will definitely be back the new landlord was so funny and interacted with everybody made some great recommendations for drinks and played our music requests can't wait for our next visit we'll done looks like we have a landlord who wants to make the pub a success

People smoking at/inside doorways, might as well just sit at the table and have a fag, just glad I wasn't eating

Outside looks shabby could do with a repaint looks shabby not very welcoming had one drink in here it tested like fish water and ordered food witch took over hour to arrive at my table no reason given as to why it took so long to arrive when it did turn up it was like warm won’t be comeing back hate again unless it improves dramatically

I pass by the miles arms every day on route to work and must say never have I seen such a filthy exterior of a pub really the plant boxes full of cigarette buts rubbish around the pub frankly the miles is disgusting place I won't patronise such a filthy exterior

Lots of seating inside and outside. The pub is clean and tidy. The staff are efficient at cleaning the tables and bar area. Toilets are clean. Pool table and slot machines in the bar area. Staff are friendly and welcoming, but they do change managers a lot, which is a shame as it used to be a nice local pub.

I ordered nachos and a steak ... The nachos were absolutely excellent and huge and I couldn't finish them. Then they brought me the steak. I ordered it medium rare and as you can see from the photograph it was perfectly cooked... They brought a steak knife but to be honest it was that tender that it wasn't really necessary. I highly recommend the food. Oh and the staff were very friendly. I will be back thank you very much

This place is what it is! Local! On our visit for lunch to be told they had no chef till later on in the day. It looks as though there has been an attempt at a refurb.

Went for a pint, won’t be back again. Should have guested not to order a draught product as the regulars were drinking bottles. Staff were friendly! Shame when we arrived they where having a smoke. Don’t expect much from a pub, but I do expect that it’s possible to look after the quality of a drink. Cider, taste and smelt like wet dogs, Guinness… orange head (with complimentary hair) and a taste of “we don’t sell much of this product” and Moretti, again damp and musky. Might be worth reducing the product range and sell better quality instead of a wide selection. Also if you want to sell Guinness might be worth looking at a Guinness surger system as you clearly don’t sell/clean this product often enough.

Awful pint of cider, beer and Guinness. Lines haven’t been cleaned for a very long time! Avoid at all costs Paid 11.50 for 3 drinks, which is fair, but we couldn’t drink them and had to leave them.

Would not recommend. Staff discriminate which is disgusting. Went in and the barmaid asked me to wear a mask. I told her I was exempt (which I am medically). I also had two badges on displaying that I am face mask exempt and I had a hidden disabilities wristband on as well. The barmaid asked me to show an exemption card. I told her to give me two minutes whilst I go on the government website to load an exemption card. The barmaid responded after my reply to say “no”. It is not a legal requirement to show or provide an exemption card. Avoid if you have health conditions and disabilities. Absolutely disgraceful.

Thought we would try as under new management wish had not bothered . arrived at 11.45 told kitchen don't open till 12. Ordered Stake and cheese sandwich and cheese and onion sandwich. The steak was so tough you could not even pull it apart using hands let alone chew it, when we complained was told, yea I will have to speak to our supplier. The Cheese and Onion was tasteless and dry. And £6.95 plus £2.24 extra for chips the food is a rip off for a basic cheese toasty. No wonder the staff got another member of staff to go to the local bakery for there lunch. Absolutely disgusted. Avoid not worth the money.

My brother & I had a very good experience on our first visit to the Miles Arms, had a nice meal & food was to a very high standard. We went back again on Wednesday 16th September for another meal but we're very disappointed. Both had fish & chips, batter was soggy, chips undercooked & food looked like it had been chucked on the plate!! We won't be returning.

I haven't visited in months. I recall the last time was a nightmare! Things have changed for the better great food and drink and quality food. Well worth a visit if you haven't been there for a while. Please note the bar is closed whilst they refurb, so lounge only. That wont stop me visiting again soon 👍

The Miles Arms is under new management and if my recent stay is anything to go by I will stay there again anytime I'm in the area. Can't fault it great everything!!!

Just had a three day stay at the Miles Arms and it was a great experience. The new management are very friendly and attentive, polite and efficient bar staff with a good range of beers and lagers and no less than four ciders. Happy days. Looking forwards to my next visit.

The Wifi ain't brilliant when you can connect, But not all is lost!! If a certain person is in the Miles is good. SMURF is his name and he will entertain you all night. Massive bonus for this venue.

Been to this place a few times so review based on several experiences. New management are really good but service can be hit and miss. If the manager is on shift cant complain as he runs a tight ship and very customer focussed. When he has a night off things go to pot. They advertise as serving food until 8pm but twice I have seen customers come in and ask for food at 7pm only to be told they have stopped cooking. Latest incident when the chef was asked why food was not available he simply replied 'if you dont like it there is an f***ing takeaway down the road'. Its a shame as pubs are struggling to survive and an aptitude like that may well see him on the dole queue. As above cant fault the manager and majority of staff but they need a new chef.

We have dined at least 3 times here over the last few months, and have never been let down with the quality of meal served to us. My fish and chips were beautiful, thank you chef!

The Miles seems to have changed ownership, and, from what we experienced, it's for the better. We were a party of 4 out for a Saturday evening meal, and have already booked a return visit on Valentine weekend. All of us were happy with the meals we were served, and thought them great value for money. The only small quibble is that there was very little choice for the vegetarian in our group, perhaps one more choice could be added to the weekend menu? This wasn't me, I was more than happy with my meaty sausages and mash!
