Well usuall stuff for me Fish and chips aaaaand they have Battered Potato aka potato scallops.

Always satisfied with the taste of the fish and chips and the quantity is always satisfactory. However the mushy peas are quite sparse as it’s mostly liquid. Never seem to get a generous amount of it, but apart from that I can recommend their grub.

Me and my partner have come here x2 now and both times we have gotten food poisoning from the fish (cod). I believe the fish is left out for a while as each time we’ve gone in the foods been ready in 30seconds…. First time we got halfway through the fish until we realised is looked slimy and smelt horrible then we had another Sunday night and we have both gotten food poisoning AGAIN and the only thing we’ve eaten is this fish not one to complain but we are very unwell and wanted to warn others avoid fish unless you know it’s fresh :)

This was my local chip shop for five years. It was only after moving away from the area a few months ago and sampling four other local chip shops that I came to appreciate how good this one is. The cod portions are huge and always well cooked; high quality flaky fish and crispy batter. The chips are also just as I like them, as are the burgers. I drive out of my way to collect from here now.

Love this chippy! Open late on a Sunday, great prices and portion sizes, and actually has gravy. Unlike many other chippies in Bristol! Also a very clean establishment with lovely service.

Do not look at their prices on website 4 yrs out of date went to buy 2 large cod 1 small chips £6 more than what it says on website and he was anything but nice when we confronted his prices he said website is 4 yrs old we told him to update because of trades description he didn't want to know thougrally bad tempered

GB Got back after a long day working stuck in traffic starving to find the incompetent employee actually wasn't even the employee but the actual owner only put Onion nothing else and lots of it! 🤦🏼‍♂️ When ringing to say we want a new one delivered which is perfectly reasonable considering we paid for something he did not order it able to eat his reply was no even you know there was multiple drivers taking deliveries. Basically just robbed us of our money and give us the one thing we specifically said we did not want... This isn't the end look at the picture attached just Onion and that suppose to be a Large the place is a shambles and so is the owner! It clearly only stays open because of the football stadium near by because you have to blind drunk to eat food of that quality or put up with Customer service like that. All I can say is stay well clear! Maybe the next poor person's order you mess up you might think twice on how it should be handled and actually fix your mistake!

Chips under cooked and battered sausage over cooked. Burger was horrible I took one bite and threw it. Judging by the reviews on here they are capable of making nice good but we didn't receive this. Many kind returns.

Ordered for a birthday gift, fish & chips mediocre, chicken ‘wings’, one piece of chicken so dry and stale he binned it - was vomiting badly the next day. Won’t be back.

Popped in with my son, on the way to watch Bristol Rovers play. We had sausage & chips and curry sauce & chips. We both thoroughly enjoyed the food and will definitely call in again. Nice friendly staff too 👍

1st time delivery order food plus drinks .food arrived good quality and within time slot. yet no drinks .I made contact with shop,told only one there would drop cans off later by approximately 21-00 Didn't happen .shop blamed delivery driver.forgot to take them !!! Not sure if would order again wanted drinks with food not 2 hours later or not at all. Poor customer service and out of pocket

Last night we ordered a large cod and chips. The fish was large but the portion of chips was tiny, I didn't see it being boxed up behind the high counter, but I put my trust in the assistant and looked forward to getting it home. Only when I lifted the fish out of the box back home did I realise that I'd only been given a tiny portion of chips. It was disappointing because we've been going there for years. I'm not sure if the assistant is new, or the portions size has been cut, but sadly next time I will think about choosing another fish & chip shop because despite past purchases we don't want to wondering if we're going to be disappointed like this again.

Ive ordered here a few times before recently but last nights order was something else..although the food was tasty the portions were absolutely tiny!!! I ordered fish and chips and a large donor..hardly any meat in the donor and only a few chips with the fish n chips..we both finished our food within 5 minutes i was fuming all this for 25pounds?! bloody ridiculous..should've gone for a kfc instead..wont be coming back here again!!!

Have started going here as had been badly let down by Clifton village fish bar recently. The Fish and chips are much better at the Bristol fryer with almost double the portion sizes and much better prices. Really glad we have found a proper Fish and chip shop locally.

Very good indeed, we usually go to superstar fish bar bottom of G road but tonight they were cash only so we drove up the road to try these guys out instead. They are a bit cheaper, bigger portions and great food. So would definitely return 👍

Tried it out as some friends were raving about it and I was on that side of town. Ordered large cod and chips and a curry sauce. Curry sauce was good and the cod was very large, and well cooked. However, portion of chips was very small, and because it’s served in a box with the fish on top of the chips, the chips underneath were greasy and soggy and claggy, and didn’t quite seem like proper chip shop chips. Due to this, I had to bin a lot of the chips as they weren’t that edible. Maybe that’s the best Gloucester Road has to offer and people are used to that, but I’ll be getting fish and chips closer to home from now on, as the chips are cooked better. Disappointing.

Amazing, good value and amazing quality food. Really quick and easy to order from the shop. Signs for only 2 customers at a time posted as you walk in. Areas are clean and hygienic with friendly and responsive staff. You can pay by contactless as well as cash. Would definitely recommend.

Ordered a collection on just eat, called to chase it and they shouted, ‘we’re not on just eat!’ And hung up. Called them back and they shouted again, ‘it’s cancelled’ and hung up, it wasn’t cancelled and had to go through just eat for refund. Absolutely disgusting and rude service. Will never use again

Me and my mum got a take away from here the other night - the best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time and their scallops are lovely too. Would definitely recommend!!

Fish were dry and hard and battered sausage was equally as horrible. Also didn’t appreciate the server making a snide comment about me to my boyfriend while I was getting my food (that’s no way to treat paying customers!). Poor service.

Whilst the cod was a good size, well cooked with crispy batter, the chips were poor, far to many flat shards in what was a small portion anyway. I did eat in and it came on a plate so you do get less than a take away but still.

Ordered a cheese burger and chips chicken and chips and 2 kids meals we only got 1 lot of chips and the burger was completely plain no sauce no salad just a bun with a dry thin burger and an over cooked slice of rubber cheese

Fairly decent. Fish was fresh and flacky (like ya muma used to make) chips were a bit soggy but I finished them all up.

Popped in for chips 🍟 n curry sauce I looked on the Kebab menu and asked what was in the pitta and salad I was told mockingly just salad . I asked why it was in the kebab section , no response . Chips looked like yesterday’s and the curry sauce was heated up in a microwave. The service was awful no patience . I asked for a reciept I was told curtly it’s coming . The place looked dirty and unkept . I would avoid at all costs the server was unclean looking too

Huge portion served in quick time. Freshly cooked fish served in a nice, crispy batter. The chairs outside made nice seating while we enjoyed the hot food, especially as it was drizzling when I went. One can see massive crowds at this place before and after games as it's around the stadium.

Once proud local business now being run into the ground. Displaying five star rating when they actually have only been awarded 1 star. Food Standards Agency informed. Avoid like the plague. Unless you like plague amd chips because there is a good chance of getting it here.
