Much better now the students have gone home. Food well up to Wetherspoons standard, so no complaints. Some of the staff still insist on smashing empty bottles into the skip which jars and sets off my tinitus big time. Sick of complaining about it so given up...if only they served cheese as in "Allo allo"!

Turned up after busy day, could not be bothered to cook so 2nd time out this year! W D GRACE was quiet tonight. Ordered large mixed grill and rare steak, only chips or salad, okay I decided l needed energy rather than greens. I had to ask for the table to be cleaned. Very shortly steak and jacket turned up, I said chips were ordered. Very shortly steak and luke warm chips arrived, I asked where the mixed grill was, "on it's way " was the reply. About 5 minutes later it turned up with luke warm chips. So I complained, it was insisted our plates were taken back to the kitchen, they were returned with no chips! My friend tucked in, but how was l going to eat now cold steak on it's own. I would have eaten it the steak raw with hot chips! I sat waiting for the hot chips to my horror as my friend had eaten a third of his, I saw the chip bag being opened and chips going into the fryer! Yes cold rare steak and chips straight from fryer was tasty. We then had someone else's food tried to be given to us! No apologies or our plates cleared for over 50 minutes until my friend took a photo in front of CCTV. There is more but I have got bored of this, I could have gone shopping, bought everything and more, would have cost more, but my friend and l wouldn't have been able to laugh about the incompetence of the staff, okay people in Clifton expect as my friend from the other end of town. WE EXPECT STAFF TO DO THEIR JOB, WE PAY THEIR WAGES!!!!!!!! Thanks Wetherspoons for the delicious steak. Oh and the farmers.

Another classic spoons review, this one is a little busy and studenty but that is what's to be expected for any place that serves drinks on whiteladies road. The outside smoking area could do with a bit of a do up to make it feel a bit more welcoming but generally it doesn't really do anything wrong. Quite cheap, and actually really solid food.

The W.G. Grace is a fantastic venue for a bite to eat and something to wet your whistle. We had the fortune of sitting in one of the booths opposite the bar and it felt nice and snug. The atmosphere was great with everyone around us having a good time. Service was superb with FoH being friendly and nice to engage with. Food was great too, so props to the kitchen team. iOrder times were quick and speedy too! As always, with any Wetherspoon venue, your experience will depend on what's happening on the day. That said, the prices are very enticing, and you get what you pay for. After paying £6 for a pint of cider elsewhere, it was nice to pay close to £2 for one here. Well worth a visit.

Knowing it's a spoons I know what I am in for, not in a bad way of course, however I did not expect quality service whilst being here like I have just, Becky (I hope that's the correct way of spelling) was lovely to me and my partner, even going out of her way as to asking others about my request as it was rather unusual, she then went out of her way to go further with my request, the request being if we could have a side of cheese with our meal, she went above and beyond by personally asking the chef if we could have it heated again so the cheese was melted. Made my day, everyone loves melted cheese and everyone should love Becky!

I don’t usually give bad reviews but this was pretty poor. I love Spoons steaks and this was just such a disappointment… I asked for “very well done” which this was medium at best, and it was cooked in something, possibly a garlic butter (wasn’t mentioned on the menu)? Something I’m allergic to as it made my throat swell up and I couldn’t eat any more… If you ignore all that it wasn’t even a good steak, more gristle than meat. So upset. Chips were still the best though, so two stars for those.

This picture sums up my experience at the W.G Grace! I managed to snap a picture of Brian Blessed (Don't mind my uncle next to him; he had a lovely time). Although Bri was quiet, I could here Taylor Swift blasting out of his headphones as he enjoyed a cold one by himself. 10/10 would recommended, I am planning on taking my Nigerian brother here for a Jimi Hendrix styled birthday party. This place is full of familiar faces, as I entered the bathroom, staff had detained a Mr Clunes (Martin) as he seemed to be suffering what could only be assumed as a mental breakdown and out of body experience as he claimed the urinal cakes were Mr Kipling branded. As I exited the lovely diner, I was astonished to see Warwick Davis bouncing in on a Pogo coming to the rescue of Martin Clunes with an army of guinea pigs behind him. Lovely Place, Zion Duvangel

One of the nicest Spoons I've been in, probably my favourite in Bristol. Just had a mixed grill, was all delicious, a decent amount of chips, perfect egg, fantastic. Friendly service. Our drinks came with too much ice, apparently that's what you get automatically unless you specify otherwise, I'll make sure to request a small amount of ice in the future. It was the sky lights in the roof that I especially liked, and the flower baskets in the front. Of the Wetherspoons in Bristol, this one appealed to me particularly because of aspects of the building, and the finish of the main seating area. Todays special was sausage, beans and chips, not very exciting and not particularly good value at £3.99? Had a full English at The George yesterday for 6.50! So gave it a miss.

I and a friend of mine were abused by your duty manager at WG Grace, Whiteladies Road, Bristol. I do not want to be referred back to this pub as it was the Duty Manager who did it. We were waiting at the bar to be served and he ignored us totally and proceeding to serve two other customers before us. When I raised it he began shouting and telling us we should wait because he was on his own and it was busy. He then admitted he had served a customer before us because he knew what he wanted therefore blatantly admitting that he was not being fair. He then said we should have waited and raised it whilst waiting till he he served the first customer before us. I said I'm raising it now, only to be told that he didn't expect us to react in the way we did. I said I didn't expect him as the duty manager to react in the way he did, he said why he's a human being doing his job. I said I know that but as a duty manager I expect certain behaviours. For one not arguing whilst other customers are waiting and not offering an apology because paying customers were rightfully complaining because they had been overlooked. Both my friend and I knew his behaviour was simply because we were black. In the end we left without purchasing anything, called our friends and told them to meet somewhere else. My biggest regret is that I didn't video the 2 minutes of carrying on by this duty manager. Stay well clear.
