Shift leader outlawed laughing. Lil lad's first promotion I guess, bit of a power trip. Other staff all wonderful but the shift leader needs to reign in the ego. You're not working at the ritz...

It's a weatherspoons simples, had a mixed grill it was well crap but it filled a hole, no san miguel anymore that's gone, it's ok for a cheap beer

After years of having breakfast here I was disappointed with my visit 23rd March. After a long wait it came out cold with extremely hard eggs. When told server he took away the plates to put it in the microwave and fresh cold eggs. This is not the service I expected and had to ask for refund, a replacement breakfast should have been offered.

Dreadful breakfast service.. took over 20 minutes, order was incomplete, returned with missing items after 5 mins, the whole time food was waiting on cold table. Then no cutlery provided. Waited at bar for cutlery as no floor waiting staff. Food was cold, muffin unable to cut, breakfasts totally inedible. No waiting staff to speak too .. queues at bar and as with 89 year old we , left.... I did send msg to actual wetherspoons but no response... so disappointed...a treat for elderly parent ruined...

Typical outside of a Spoons however when you get inside it was fantastic Well themed, clean and tidy. Nice staff food good although menu had a few things missing

Toilets were like the toilets in Trainspotting. That was before I went in there!

Very cheap and quiet great for bears and stout. They had a nice Italian chocolate stout for £2:15/pint

Lovely spacious pub! Toilets on the same level as the bar...staff are great and friendly...using the app gives prompt service too

One of our favourite spoons normally but staff were so miserable especially a bloke in T Shirt who was also very very rude over the coffee machine it was there problem not ours so we left as they didn't fill the machines up with milk Won't be going there again

We visited with the intention of having brakefast / lunch, but I reminded my Daughter of our last experience as we wandered in. Decided to have a drink and leave.

Not bad but not great Weather spoons judging by the ones I've visited in the past. It's a huge pub but very tired looking. The food was ok. Overall a satisfactory visit

Nice enough place and as usual for all wetherspoons, an interesting and well decorated building with interesting artwork and great interior design. The service was good, the food was cooked well, presentation is a little lackluster but you're not paying for pretty garnishment. All in all I had a good steak cooked exactly as I ordered. Very happy.

A run-of-the-mill Wetherspoon pub, but with less lairy clientelle than most, despite the contrary evidence in the "Fight night Bristol" YouTube video posted in July 2008. The pub, a former cinema, has a slightly unusual appearance with split level flooring and green girders in the ceiling, from which sculptures of large fish, of various species, are suspended - it's in Fishponds, geddit? There's the usual mixture of table sizes and types, TV and an occasional large screen available, gaming machines, and WiFi ... but at least the bogs are on the same floor, no alpine trek needed. When busy, you may have to scour the tables for any ketchup.

Updated as previously a 3, these guys are continually improving so being fair, The site is clean, toilets well maintained & staff are pleasant to talk to, large range always available with rotating ales. one of the better spoons I've visited but again the slow service is a slight let down, but wait till the bars clear and you'll be served straight away, may also have just been the time i visited though.

This is a Wetherspoon's pub with a good food menu but the bar service leaves a lot to be desired. Also comes with screaming kids as a lot of pubs do these days.

Am sure weatherspoons can afford to clean the tables a bit more often. Sticky = icky The food is standard cheap fayre, which is very much appreciated but still, it's pretty mean portioning. I had the veggie breakfast Example: A whole of a (small)tomato instead of a half. and more than one (standard size not beefsteak) mushroom on the breakfast would be less mean. The portion of beans was also just about a heaped tablespoon. Service was great as always, and plenty of Access ♿ £6.50 including refillable hot drinks I've withheld one for the sticky tables and one for the mean vegetable portions.

On the day I went the Gents toilets smelt like a farmyard & a visit here is certainly eye watering! Employees who do the checks must have lost their sense of smell! Worse is that it drifts into the pub eating area too! This one is just for hardcore drinkers only!!

After a long time, waiting to order, when I was going to pay, they told me that we had to leave because they are not pet friendly and we couldn't be with our dog even on the terrace even though it was empty and very dirty, so TRUE

Really nice place. Amazing value for money. And the serve REAL butter with their Full English. Nice vegetarian options. Broad menu range. Very good customer service.

The food is quite good and well priced but I found the old post office to be nicer and better priced. It's quite noisy, sometimes even for breakfast, but much more on the weekend or the evening.

Don't use the app here or you'll wait three times longer than going to the bar. Under current "conditions" using the app you'd think would be preferable...

16 of us gathered for a family get together. We arrived at different times .I arrived at around 8 o'clock with my family, including my 12 year old grandson. We ordered drinks at the bar and joined the group. After a while we ordered food. The food came at around 8.45. All good or so we thought. A very officious staff member then told us my grandson would have to leave by 9.00 pm. In the course of the next 15 minutes 3 other staff members came over with the same message. Wetherspoons, a few tips for you: SIGNAGE.... there were no signs to inform us of this rule. ORDERING AT THE BAR: Staff should inform customers before ordering of this rule. The evening was spoilt and my grandson upset. We wouldn't have ordered food with 15 minutes to consume. SECURITY: Over the top. One person would have sufficed. We won't return....

Cheap pints with reasonable prices. Other actual pubs is expensive with 4 to 6 pound pint. Wetherspoons pint cost 2 to 4 pound pint depending on brand

Este pub tiene un interior muy llamativo, muy agradable de hecho. Lamentablemente, se necesitan mejoras en otros lugares. Visitamos alrededor de 1. 30 p.m. un jueves. Los menús del Curry Club no estaban en mi mesa ni en ninguna de las mesas aledañas cuyos menús de desayuno todavía estaban fuera. Pedí bebidas en la aplicación. Después de esperar 12 minutos fui al bar a buscarlos yo mismo, ya que todavía no se habían llevado a la mesa. El área de condimentos era muy baja en stock. Podría ser mucho mejor.

Mi amigo lo sugirió para el desayuno. Fue una comida y un servicio terribles. Su huevo estaba demasiado cocido, podría haber sido de otro día. Mi desayuno simplemente no era fresco. ¡Y en cuanto al servicio! ¡Bueno, no había ninguno! Además tuve que servirme el té y se quedaron sin bolsas de té y alguien dijo que tampoco tenían azúcar. El personal necesita algún tipo de capacitación mejorada o algo así. Simplemente no quieren estar allí y ser antipáticos. El menú decía huevo bendito. Pero cuando mi amigo cuestionó la sobre cocción de ellos... no pudieron reemplazarlo ya que la mujer dijo que no había facilidad para hacerlo. ¡Respuesta muy extraña!

Terrible, terrible, terrible! Fish from last week's menu, poached egg hard boiled, rotten, and 3 weeks old. When I asked for a fresh poached egg they said "Oh no, sorry, we can't cook them to order today sir"! So what the hell have you just served me? I said. Something you cooked last week, or the week before???

Cooked breakfasts hit the spot and the setting in the old cinema and the portraits on the wall made this another good quality and quirky Wetherspoons.

Staff are excellent. Food as usual. Excellent. Definitely do have a great time with people chatting and laughing. Met various people there. This is what life is about. The correct way to enjoy life. One of the best establishments ever for brilliant hospitality. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work there.

Really quite perfect for the price / value is very high. Best pub on Fishponds area.

Went for breakfast. Unmistakably an old cinema. Food was good but had to return the cutlery because it still had food on it. Hopefully just a one off. The unlimited tea and coffee was good though

Irish lady is so friendly and welcoming to all who come in. Sometimes needs a little more time spent cleaning tables but otherwise food always well cooked and rarely issues.

Had an early evening meal here. Everything was good. Food and service were excellent, however there were a lot of tables waiting to be cleared and staff were moaning about being short staffed

Tried to report a problem, and the 'manager' was about as difficult and also passive aggressive as is humanly possible in her position. refused to give me her name because i politely asked to make a complaint. Doesn't seem like any kind of normal procedure, and a shame... I won't be coming to this establishment again. Out of her depth

Faily typical Spoons in a former Cinema. Decent food at reasonable prices - meal and a pint for cheaper than a typical takeaway. Only thing missing is an outdoor area, but that's due to its location, it's not really feasible.

Disabled. Challenged at Wetherspoons? It's Christmas eve - some friendly advice taken as unwanted criticism and then escalated out of all proportion. refused to serve, Asked to leave and then threatened with police. This is Fishponds , Bristol 2023 Did you know, as you walk in - they have/claim video rights to record you but you don't have right to record their malpractices- and ? Of course any and all staff should have rights to refuse to serve anyone, BUT This is NOT acceptable if the discriminatory action is against those with disabilities ( we have a friend who sat next to and spoke to us that is mentally challenged ). By the the way, no threatening or drunken behaviour from anyone, no refusal to leave, no abuse, no raised voices even. Just TOTAL refusal of staff to accept or investigate CONSTRUCTIVE criticism!! Wasn't even particularly busy! There is a law!!!! If not applied it will continue to be disregarded I guess you get what you pay for.. Cheap beer, CHEEPER SERVICE, BAD attitude Anyone want more info ?

Not the best visit we've had to spoons.... Food was ok-ish, not very hot Warm cookie dessert was more tepid than warm Service tonight was shocking, spilt a drink, asked for some cloth to clear it up ourselves, they told us they'd do it First attempt didn't do much, just spread it around the table... asked a second, third, fourth time, still not cleared up!! Moved down the table, asked again, still not done.... took about an hour to finally get it done Staff don't look like they want to be here tonight

Good food, excellent value. Large range of well kept real ales. TV with subtitles on at times. Lacks a cozy feel as basically just one big space.

Firstly,no alcohol or abusive behaviour by reviewer was involved. I ordered on the app for a large soft drink.So paid in advance The pub was quiet and staff were hanging around. After waiting almost 20 minutes with the order stood on the bar in full sight I went to collect the order. The shift manager was standing around doing nothing. I picked my order and gave the lazy manager a withering look. She started an altercation and accused me of stealing my paid for order.I was never abusive nor did I shout or raise my voice.The manager did not apologise nor attempt to remedy their error. I drank the paid for drink and the manager told me not to return. Appalling service,idle unhelpful person

For a weatherspoons this is a nice one, light airy with friendly staff.

Nice and roomy. Food was ok 5 bean chilli, came fresh from the microwave. A good atmosphere was able to hear conversation with friends.
