Great value for money food outlet serving pasties, jacket potatoes, cakes and drinks. Staff are very friendly. Pasties may not be that warm but if they sold hot they would incur Vat.

‘We are open. a car drove into our window. please keep buying from us so we can get a new window’. I would have loved to. I tried to buy a coffee at about 14.20. No can do. ‘We aren’t serving.’ ‘I only want coffee not food.’ ‘No I’m washing the floor’ ‘Oh I’m sorry I didn’t know you were closed as the door was open’ ‘We aren’t closed.’ ‘Just not selling anything then? Good luck getting the money for the window’

It's quite central for a stop after shopping and to have something to eat and drink, the service is not the best immediately they leave you (brusquely) a box with vinegar, and dressings. The food is not the most expensive but it is not excellent the hamburger with cheese and bacon is good, the fish with chips average ... but the lasagna lacks salt and meat and pasta hahaha it is lasagna flavored tomato puree with melted cheese and a few green salad leaves, and if they give you garlic bread it is frozen (greasy thin, watery and burnt) that is, the drinks are very cold and the waiter with a beard, a young man and a blonde girl (not the older woman) are friendly at least they smile, and look you in the face, it is not so bad (there are points that could be improved) if you go when it is busy you will hear a lot of volume and shouts of men who usually go in groups but if you go when it is not very busy it is quite relaxed and comfortable to enjoy your food.

Took my husband for a meal at The Antelope for the first time as normally go with a friend but she was unwell. My husband loved it the same way l do. Fabulous food and friendly and attentive staff. Always a real pleasure to dine here. Already looking forward to my next visit. Many thanks to all who made our evening such a pleasure. See you soon Sue B x

Seems to have lost some of its original magic. We enjoyed a few drinks and really good food previously. Ordered Chateaubriand to share, was tough. Staff seemed stressed over all disappointing from our previous couple of visits. Gave us the impression as gone from great atmosphere, vibrant and relaxed dining to more like a rowdy watering hole. The cocktails weren’t as good as we remembered either sadly.

Having not been here in over a year we thought we would have an evening out as we had always enjoyed the food and atmosphere, sadly we were disappointed and did not end up staying for food. Firstly on entering we could not smell and food smells only a damp musty smell. We ordered drinks and were shocked at the price, over £10 for a shandy and half a glass of lime and soda. On being seated upstairs it felt chilly, the table was grubby and the light feature on the table did not work. Awful pop music playing in the background was being drowned out by the bellowing voice of the chef downstairs in the kitchen, we could hear most of what he was saying including the 'F' words. After sitting for 10 mins we realised that the dish I would be ordering (slow cooked pork belly)was obviously not cooking so would most probably have been microwaved along with the dauphinoise potatoes, and the noise of the chef and music we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. Such a shame that this once lovely restaurant lacked atmosphere, fresh cooked food and respect for customers from the chef!
