We waited ages to get our meal and my Caesar salad felt like the lettuce leaves were not washed as I could taste the grit. What clinched it was that we pre ordered our meal and the service was still so slow. Won’t be back

Had a dressed crab, delicious but only two pieces of bread with, had to ask fir more and was charged for it. Bit disappointing

We ate here twice whilst staying in Padstow. We really enjoyed our meals; the roast was good value, the service was excellent and staff were really friendly. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

We stopped here for lunch after a 7 mile walk along the costal path. The menu was great with lots of choice and reasonable pricing. We sat upstairs with amazing harbour views. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and great service. We will definitely be back when we are next in Padstow.

Popped in with our dog Rufus, for a quick drink. Warm welcome from Chris, who gave Rufus water and treats, while we enjoyed our drink. The beer and cider, both well kept and tasty. Recommend a visit 👍🏼

Thoroughly enjoyable evening eating on watching France v England ( shame about the result). Burger and fish & chips were top notch

Meal and service were standard, reasonably priced for padstow but didnt leave me with a lasting impression. Wouldn't necessarily recommend I'm affraid.

The food was dry the starters came out quickly, however the chorizo bites were burnt and drowned in oil, the upstairs was empty however there was squashed chips on the floor, we read the reviews before coming and it was very positive however the only nice meal was the hunters chicken the rest of it was inedible, there was one lovely bar staff who served us called Becky she was lovely and couldn’t do enough for us but the visit was absolutely horrible

Lovely traditional quay side pub with large bar and seating inside and out. Staff were friendly and efficient and although we didn’t eat, the food being delivered to other customers looked yummy. Atmosphere was relaxed with a combination of both visitors and locals. Dog friendly.

came to the quiz , the lady Kennedy on the bar was soooo professional and informative, excellent service , the chap who did the quiz Reece was absolutely hilarious but really intelligent too. thank you guys what a team ….the food…. just wow!

We visited this evening and were served by Chloe. Chloe was friendly, efficient and asked all the right questions. Our drinks arrived promptly. The food was really tasty and we didn’t wait long. Well done Chloe 👍

We had a lovely meal here; possibly better than other bigger named restaurants in the area. We all had different meals and the food was beautifully cooked and the burgers were fantastic. The service was good and although it was fairly quiet upstairs, the waitress was attentive and we find this to be the case whenever we come. The Shipwrights is always top of the list of places to visit for a good meal.

We went for dinner on a quiz night and were shown upstairs, which was quiet and downstairs was full. The starter was quickish to arrive though the chorizo bites were swimming in oil. After a significant wait I chased the mains by going to the downstairs bar, three staff chatting and watching the quiz. Our waitresss startled agreed to check the kitchen and came to us to say the food was being plated. No doubt she had forgotten about the upstairs customers. What arrived was a pie that had been so long on the hot plate it was impossible to break into, luke warm carrots and slop of a mash. The Hunters Chicken was gloop which had skimmed over on the pass. Needless to say both unpleasant and inedible. We asked for this bill, the waitress did ask if the food was OK? Given the plates were not eaten, she commented on they were having issues with the kitchen and she could ring a manager to see if we could have the mains discounted. We paid in full and left.

Booked this place online last minute looking for a dog friendly venue nearby. We got a spacious table upstairs and were informed some Sunday roast options were sold out (we didn't mind as it was last minute and 6.30 pm on a Sunday). But what we had didn't disappoint, and the kids loved their food too. I had delicious pork belly with all the trimmings (great cauli cheese!!), my husband a delicious beef pie. Attentive staff, chilled ambience and right on the harbour of Padstow. Highly recommend and a wonderful find!

Very helpful when I phoned to book a table. Put us upstairs as the rugby was. Helpful, polite staff. The food was extremely good. All well cooked, just one niggle, the plates could have been warmer, but didn’t detracted from the lovely tasty food.

Loved this pub, both the atmosphere and the food. You could eat upstairs or down. Quieter upstairs though. Dog friendly. Good food served here. Located alongside the habour and amongst the shops, restaurants and a short walk from the museum and lobster hatchery.

Kennedy is an asset to the team. Always in and friendly and nothing ever is too much trouble. We even got to meet the head chef Reece. A real treat and whatta personality! He even did the quiz that evening which was a real hoot! Love a great cosy local pub. Will be back!

We had lunch here on Thursday. The food was really good. We had the fish an chips and ham egg an chips. The fish was hake. Could not fault the food. The staff were really polite and helpful. If you are gluten free and crave battered fish and chips I highly recommend the Shipwrights. Honestly, the best GF fish and chips I have had served in a eatery.
