My friend was left upset tonight, after trying to come in with his dog. He was told no dogs, then he asked if he could sit outside (which I've seen people loads of times with dogs) He was told no, he understood and left. He asked if he could sit outside, there was no response. He then asked if it was because he was black (which he's really black) but the barmaid didn't respond yes or no. If you weren't a racist you'd say no, "it's because we're not allowed dogs in here" instead she just looked at him absolutely disgusted and said nothing. He was really placid and said he gets it all the time. I've lived here for over 20 years but not particularly impressed.

Ordered food on their App which arrived fairly promptly, it was great quality and very tasty, only downside was the missing eggs from the ham and eggs I'd ordered. The issue was soon resolved with an apology so all in all a place I'd easily recommend.

Had a wander around Penzance taking in the atmosphere on a chilly but lovely day. Needing a coffee and a bit of warmth we nipped into the The Tremenheere for a coffee. It's a standard Wetherspoons pub much like any other. Wobbly chairs, some clean tables, some sticky, booths offering absolutely no privacy, awful carpet, ten mile hike to the bogs, etc, etc. The coffee was perfectly acceptable and the pub was indeed warm, mind you that could have been shared body heat from the sheer volume of folk needing cheap food and drinks. Nice enough, did the job.

This is one of a national chain offering the standard pub grub on a Monday when most pubs in town were closed. One pizza was crispy and tasty, the other one was underdone and doughy. One burger was hot and juicy; the other was topped with unmelted cheese and cold bacon. The busy but friendly staff cheerfully did what they could to fix things when we complained, but it made for an uneven and underwhelming dining experience.

It's hard to grade the atmosphere for a general Wetherspoon. But you can't beat them for a nice clean well kept bar and reasonably priced food from that particular region. So if you're in the West you will find West Country ingredients used in your meal. If you're a fan of beer and helping keep local landmarks alive don't forget the Tremenheer. Although not claiming to be the Former Mayors Mansion it is nevertheless a lovely piece of architecture from a bygone age. As with all Wetherspoon's there is local history and art displayed about the building. They have a beer garden out there back, but sadly it's not what you'd call a beautiful one. It's more a smoking garden of you will. This 'Spoons does have seating outside the front of the building which, even though it's on the main road, is more entertaining. If you like people watching, the recommended seat is definitely number 12. It's a high bench in the large window facing onto the old Lloyd Bank building.

Terrible, must be avoided! We visited for a drink and food. Food was good and to the usual Wetherspoon standards. However what let this pub down was the staff and their attitude towards customers. All very rude and unhelpful. I asked if there was any BBQ sauce, as there was none out. Was rudely told is not part of their offering and I was made to pay extra for two very little squirts of sauce. I didn’t mind paying as I was happy to have this addition with our food. Just seems strange the day before in another pub in their chain was offer the sauce for free? We were a table of three. All ordered on the app in one order yet food came out all at different times and we had to chase down a missing dish that was forgotten, then we had to ask for a third set of cutlery. As you can imagine with the unfriendly staff and their manner it was a very unpleasant visit. Avoid this particular site if you’re visiting this area.

I often visit Cornwall 2-3 times a year. This place always disappoints. 75% of the staff are horrendous. Their attitudes are disgraceful especially if you come from out of Cornwall visiting. Service is diabolical, they serve their friends before they serve strangers. They are only acting how the manager acts I suppose. He seems to spend more time in the office. Never resolved any issues, just pacifies them. If they don’t like you, they disappear into the kitchen area as not to serve you. If you want to know anything that’s happened in there, you’ll know about it as the young people behind the bar chat about all that’s happened the night before at top of their voices which is off putting. Place is always got food strewn across the place, tables full of clutter and you have to ask them to clean. It’s not exactly a big Wetherspoons either, one of the smaller ones. The saying “wipe your feet on the way out” springs to mind.

Rough atmosphere and patchy food offer: I went on a May weekday evening in 2023 looking for a quick reliable meal in reasonable atmosphere. I normally get this with no problems in the Truro equivalent,OK,cheap and cheerful but predictable. The food availability was limited- no baked potato or coleslaw for example. The replacement salad,a good try, looked as if it had been roughly chopped with garden shears, though healthy enough . The youngish staff were polite and flexible about the food but stuggling, up against supply problems and what already seemed to be a number of heavy drinkers at 8pm ,one of whom was meandering around without any effort by staff to indicate he'd had enough. The atmosphere was that of skid row and we looked out the least troubling space in the smokers' courtyard at the back. . There are social problems in Penzance and Wetherspoons seemed to have attracted at least its fair share of them that day. I think the maagement of the place needs looking into.
