You know what you are getting when you go to a Toby, a fabulous carvery. We had a lovely server called Cheryl who made sure we had all that we needed. Thank you

Cheryl was brilliant! Best service ever! I celebrated my 38th birthday with my family. We had a lovely time. The food is always great!

Very disappointed with the food quality and presentation. Dried out and unappealing breakfast. Especially the eggs. When I asked for fresh eggs, they were as bad as those on the serving area. Our usual Toby in Northbourne is much better, I will NOT be wasting my money here again.

Great night out for a family meet up. Amazing roast dinner and spectacular service from Jane B as always. We all had different meats and enjoyed them all. Good crispy spuds too!

Good. Beth was good as a waitress. Went with an OAP and they were helpful. The only issue was they claimed to have no knowledge of my reservation

I went for my birthday meal. The meat on the carvery was tender and lovely but unfortunately the vegetables were very dry and the roast potatoes rock hard. The waitress who we spoke to said that she would let the chefs know. Overall, not too bad experience. The waitress Libby was really polite and friendly as were the other staff members.

If it wasn't for the self made toast I'd be starving. Everything on the hot counter was overcooked and dry. eggs like rubber... Yuk.

Good food is as usual although £8 for a few lettuce leaves, tomatoes and some cucumber was a little much. Cheryl was extremely friendly and very helpful.

Went for a birthday meal..once shown to our table we waited for about 20 mins before we had to go in search of someone to take our drinks order..the waitress was sent and our order taken. Again we waited another 20 plus minutes for our drinks and these were only delivered once we had asked where they were. Finally our order was taken for the carvery..the waitress was obviously busy with, as she put it, a big table that she was also dealing with! We had no visits to the table asking if we were alright or if we had everything we wanted. After our meal we waited again for our dirty plates to be cleared..we had to seek the waitress out again to ask for our deserts and these were brought to the table when our dirty plates were still in situ..we had to point this out and she said she would clear them..she was very lacking in customer care. First visit to this place..service and food very disappointing 😞

Jess, was rushed off her feet, but still served us with lovely smile on her face. Even took the time to explain the Toby app rewards. Well done Jess 🙌

Not the best. Service was slow and forgot drinks, brought out wrong food, no ice cream available with deserts and the place was messy.

Would like to Thank Jane.b our server, she was very attentive and polite even when busy took the time to grab us extra cutlery for our little one and we always had drinks when needed. A big Thank you. Also the guy who served my partner was very generous with meat so thank you to him 😊

We visited with our friends and was asked by the waitress if anyone had any allergies. We told her that one of our party was highly allergic to citrus. The waitress went away after speaking to the kitchen staff and the staff couldn’t be more accommodating and understanding. They were brilliant. Well done Toby. Also the food was as good as ever.

Our server Jane 'B' was wonderful, very attentive and very friendly. No lamb left at 7pm but gammon and Turkey was lovely

We have had great meals and experiences here in the past, check my previous reviews. This time was a disaster. Booked for a family of 8. Six adults 2 toddlers. Arrived and seated fine by the mangeress, then gingerly approached by a waitress that looked no more than 16. She took our drinks order, but didn’t mention food. We didn’t see her for another 20 minutes. Meanwhile (and I accept it’s not totally Toby’s fault) a family of 6 arrived and were seated next to us. The mum was dressed inappropriately. Very small top with bra and stretched marks breasts all over the place, Nan, in a wheelchair, absolutely stunk of cigarettes and went for a fag break mid meal and worst of all Grandad who had a vest on and also stank. One of our group found themselves behind Grandad in the carvery queue and knew she wouldn’t be eating that evening such was the stench. The waitress then appeared with drinks and we ordered food. Grandad started coughing without putting his hand over his mouth then loudly declared ’It went down the wrong hole’ Nice. Apart from the toddlers we all had carvery and all of them were terrible. Lukewarm, almost no meat, potatoes that were black and looked like they’d been there all day. Soggy veg. Nobody finished their meal. Grandad then started to belch and burp incredibly loudly. By this time we had had enough of the smell coming from the adjacent table and went to the bar. The toddlers were due a desert with their meal. They were ordered but 25 minutes later still no sign of them. Eventually as the kids were getting restless, we asked to cancel the desserts and have them removed from the bill which they did. Now. I know Toby is near the bottom of the Mitchell’s and Butlers chain, but they should be able to refuse entry to people that aren’t appropriately dressed and stink to high heaven. I know Toby are going to reply with apologies blah blah blah, but the service was awful, the food inedible and the clientele near us needed a bloody good wash. The staff who worked there wouldn’t like it and neither did we. Sorry. Never going back.

Stopping over in Poole for the weekend so would be rude not to have a cheaky carvery. Food lovely but would have been nicer if the beef wasn't over cooked and crumbly. Jess the waitress is a credit to the Toby brand.

Fantastic food at a great price and welcoming and attentive staff. I had the beef which was lovely and tender and the selection of veg to accompany it was incredible.

Overall poor experience here. I went over the weekend with a prior reservation however when we arrived they stated the table wasn’t available so placed us on a small table at the bar with a 2 year old with us. When ordering we were met with an unenthusiastic waitress who mumbled her way through our order. In contrast the ginger bearded chef was friendly and inviting. When my partner got back to the table she found her cutlery to be sticky and unwashed which we later swapped. Overall very poor experience

Liberty was a lovely young waitress, polite and very helpful. The food was delicious, very plentiful and the roast dinner was perfect. Also loved the bowl of pigs-in-blankets. Brill desserts. Good value for money. We will definitely be back!!!

Booked a table as down there for a few days on a break. We opted for an extra large carvery for £1.99 extra. Loads of meat and vegetables cooked beautifully. Was served by Jane B who was very friendly and efficient.

All the staff appeared preoccupied with standing around while one staff member (Claire) did everything but when she did get a chance to serve she was friendly and a laugh and gave great service

9-30 on a Friday morning. Breakfast for 3 costing £20. Very good and polite service. I still cannot get used to having Yorkshire pudding and gravy served with Breakfast. Car park fairly quiet so all in all fairly pleased. I suppose I should add that...

During our meal a poor lady became unwell while dining with her family. All staff were excellent and professional while an ambulance was called. Our waitress Megan was outstanding throughout.

Very busy being Easter Sunday. Our meal was good and service was great by all the staff, especially our server Kirsty who worked well under pressure.

We were early for our booking and were seated immediately. Served by Reynie. Very attentive and polite young lady. Food was lovely.

Great and Fast! My family had booked a table, it needed to be cleaned but was done super fast and we were soon seated. After a few minutes we were asked for our drinks order, which did take a while to arrive but my family was busy getting their carvery! All the drinks were lovely and the options for the carvery were great! Everything was hot and fresh and was very enjoyable. Very good time!

We went to Toby today for a Carvery on a Sunday evening; there was probably 5/6 other tables but only three in our section. It took over 10 minutes to be served for drinks, we then waited around 20 minutes for the glasses to get a refillable drink. I ordered a vegan main and asked for vegan gravy and the separately cooked vegetables as per the menu, after another long wait my pie arrived. The waitress dropped it on the table and seemed confused that I had ordered seperate veg, then changed her tune and said it was on its way. We went up to get Carvery and I spotted her trying to dish up veg from the Carvery to give me from the hot plate. She then informed me it was all steamed and fine to eat - including the cauliflower cheese!! Which has dairy in!!! I did not receive my vegan gravy but at this point stopped bothering to ask as service had been so poor. My partners meal was cold, Yorkshire puddings dry and cold too. The service was poor in general and when getting our food you could hear the manager chatting about his date the night before which was not only unprofessional but vulgar. After our meal it took another 30 minutes for the bill to be brought over and our plates cleared as the entire staff were eating food. Including staff stood eating around the still running Carvery! Absolutely disgusting service - would definitely not recommend.

We live locally and used to use this resturant a fair amount. Even allowing for the effect Covid has had on all aspects of the hospitality industry tonights visit was a dissapointment. Our waitress Ellie was great. Polite, welcoming and even took away our used plates without us asking. Sorry to say she was the highlite of our evening. The quality and look of the food was a disgrace. Usual Toby stuffing which for 20 years has been mixed with polyfilla. The potatoes were dark inside with no taste. Toby vegetable mixture looked as though they were leftover from breakfast. Carrots had no taste, etc etc.. The only thing more bland than the food was the interior decor, dark and dismal. The staff are doing their best I'm sure. Toby management should get off their bums, get out of their offices and give these people some support.

My husband and I visited here whilst away for a few days.We both said it was the best carvery we've had anywhere in months.Food was fresh, hot and full of flavour. The roasties were perfect, veg full of flavour and meat was succulent.The service we received was first class. Staff were all pleasant and friendly.We will definitely return here on our next visit to Poole.

This was the second visit on a Boxing Day and it was as good as the first, the food was Delicious and the Service was as usual extremely good, all of the staff were in a jovial mood and had time to chat with customers, my Daughter and her family ate an hour before us and said that this year we will all book the same time and go as one family she also gave the Menu 10/10 and very well deserved. We come here often as this is our favourite Toby Carvery.

My family & I had dinner at Toby Carvey Friday 7th Jan, the food was lovely. The man who served us our carvery is a credit to this restaurant, he was super friendly, engaged in conversation and that in itself would make you want to return to this restaurant. A person with customer service skills as excellent as he has deserves recognition.

Ordered a collection when my wife was ill I collected. I was really disgusted, the Turkey looked like the Chef had just picked up a few Turkey crumbs with his fingers. The roast potatoes were almost black they were so old & dry you could not cut them with a knife, the whole meal was really disgusting & a big disappoint, l wrote to Toby about the issue & they never even had the decency to reply, there are plenty of nicer places for us to visit in the future never so again, this could have been resolved with a reply but as the can’t be bothered neither can l so long Toby.

All started well enough starters , carvery was good , but we had a very long wait for our sweet so asked for coffees and bill at the same time .to save waiting any longer. Otherwise it was ok . Probably needed more staff but who wants to work Christmas Day .

Good carvery desserts need some attention. Christmas pud was lacklustre the previous week and the plum crumble topping was not caramelised.

The waiting staff were leaning all over us with no masks on. No windows open - ventilation is key to help the spread of Covid. Other customers who arrived after us were put on the table right next to us when there was plenty of other space in the building. I did not feel safe and will not return again until Covid cases are very very low.

I paid for a roast but in the middle of eating i felt unwell i asked the waitress if i could have a takeaway box which she replied no we are not allowed to use them very poor indeed

Relaxed atmosphere, good food and service. Plenty of choice, carvery excellent. Not rushed to leave.

Unorganised and the food was barely edible. Undercooked potatoes and cauliflower Staff were polite but clearly rushing messing everything up and seeming uncaring.

Visited today as a party of 9 for a family get together. Food was great good value for money and the service from Tamzin was lovely!

Called here on our way back from day out in Poole. Nice friendly greeting and asked for table of 5 and straight away showed to a stall and table but unfortunately my. Brother in law couldn’t sit there as there wasn’t enough room for him. We asked the waiter that greeted us as we came in if they had a table with chairs instead of the stalls but he abruptly said you will have to wait now. The bar man came over and said he would push 2 tables together in the bar area as he could see my brother in law was embarrassed, this he done for us with no problem. He got a waitress to come over and set the table straight away. We had a lovely meal as usual at Toby especially the Yorkshire’s, we would like to thank the bar man and waitress for their help and kindness shown to us. It was very busy this night but nothing was too much trouble for them. .

We visit this pub often but mainly midweek as tend to find busier on Saturdays but today we went (Saturday). We are never disappointed but today was not great. After getting our drinks we went to get our Carvey. The chef behind the counter seemed friendly and was chatting to my auntie. I made a comment to my auntie he was being polite cause he’s after something (jokingly) the chef replied “yeah her number”. (Auntie is over 70). After that my mum gained her plate/meat and he then started to make inappropriate comments to her which I then replied to the chef “u can stop as I don’t want a step dad thanks”. I then asked for my plate/meat which he then said “guessing you want 5 yorkshires”. Being a larger person a comment like that is uncalled for and unnecessary in a customer service job like this. No top of this when getting our plates/meat you were lucky to get 1 small slice of meat, blink and it’s gone, 1 bite and gone, might as well of been vegetarian. I am truly shocked with today as after all this time I have never felt the need to review such shocking service of fleetsbridge. Had booked a table for mums birthday in couple of weeks but will be cancelling and go else where

Myself and my mum had a lovely visit. Although they were incredibly busy, Lee, Alexander and Ellie were fantastic, happy, smiling and making the best of the day. The rest of the staff were equally as happy and friendly, and I can completely relate to that Sunday feeling working in hospitality myself! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the chefs were a joy as well. All in all a lovely afternoon and the food was great, but the service topped it off, Thank you!

Visited when on holiday in Poole recently and found the staff to be very pleasant. Took a while to order some drinks and forgot we wanted to order desert. But when we got the food it was edible and enjoyable

Meat was fine. Vegetables and other Food undercooked. Yorkshire pudding heavy and stodgy and vegetables undercooked or unrecognizable, the stuffing not cooked at all. Waitress very helpful and replaced Yorkshire to a slightly better one but agreed the stuffing was uncooked. Disappointing as I usually enjoy Toby carveries.

We visited every night on our recent holiday to the area. The staff were really friendly and ready to help out even though at times it was really busy. The meat portions were not skimpy, one of the best Toby Carverys we have been to. They even gave my little girl extra yorkshire puds without question where we have to practically beg for one extra in other Tobys.

Our first visit back since the start of the pandemic and it was good to be able to go. Food was as usual very good and so was the service will be back again soon have missed going

RUN unless you only eat bland white food , we had such a dire meal here on 14/09/21 that I would say eat somewhere else , No nice vegetables only white mash white pasta white cauliflower white crispy cabbage burn flat Yorkshire pudding and brown carrots how can you burn carrots even I can do better than that and I’m a rubbish cook .

Ordered from dilveroo, shockingly cold food a lot of mash potato why?tasteless roast potoes peas, carrots and cauliflower uncooked stuffing small amount of dry cold pork a Yorkshire pudding which was as dry as cardboard, overall what an absolute waste of money... Shame on you Toby carvery

Lovely Carvery always filling and great to have a roast mid week. Nice day after meal , sat in the Beer Garden. Bar man was helpful and polite , so was the waitress too.

Excellent service and the carvery was up to the usual Toby standard. Our waiter Alexander was extremely helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. You can’t beat this place for good wholesome food at great prices, highly recommended.

I've had a few toby carvery and this has got to be the worst one I've had , the only thing that was good was the waitress was very friendly and professional , food was terrible

We just wanted to pop by here to leave a note for the amazing service that Danica provided us on Sunday evening. Great food, despite struggles with steamers, etc. Service was second to none. Very friendly and made us feel welcome, even though the place was very busy.

The servers name was Tamzin. She was absolutely lovely and made sure we were okay at all times. She has an amazing personality towards customers!!

Had a wonderful family meal here today. Very clean with wonderful staff. Wheelchair friendly. Look forward to going back again.

Visited for the unlimited breakfast with family. Most of the food was undercooked whilst also dried out from sitting for ages under the heatlamp. Bacon and sausages were pale and flabby whilst also dry and chewy yet still only lukewarm. The hashbrowns were barely cooked and were pretty much inedible lumps of cold mashed potato. The large whole mushrooms were almost raw. Toast was underdone and cold, pretty much just untoasted bread. The fried eggs were mostly overcooked and solid. Apparently Toby don't even serve breakfast basics such as black pudding, fried bread or cooked fresh tomato, which isn't acceptable when even cheap chain hotels do. For some bizarre reason they do serve Yorkshire puddings and gravy at breakfast though, I suspect because they are left over from the carvery. Tea and coffee, charged extra of course, was served in very small single serving mugs rather than a pot and had to be collected at the bar. There was no real service to speak of and we had to ask where we would be sitting after almost ten minutes of standing at the bar to be told we could sit anywhere as the restaurant wasn't busy. Which after eating here is totally understandable. The only plus point is that now we know never to go here for the lunch or dinner carvery. Or go back for breakfast, obviously. Please don't waste your money in this dreadful place.

Nice sausages, everything else...not so much. Burnt toast, pasty bacon, solid hash browns and Yorkshire, uncooked eggs. Won't be returning.
