We have a lovely lunch here for my Mum's 95th birthday. Really good choice of food, pre-ordered as there were 23 of us. Great service, the children's meals arrived first. We had a separate area in the pub which was perfect for our needs. Thank you 😊

Came across this little gem of a pub whilst out bike riding with a group of 8! The staff are super friendly and the food was absolutely fantastic! The sandwiches ( all made fresh) were delicious and the ploughman’s was spectacular! All the food was brought out at the same time so no one was left waiting whilst others ate. We all agreed how lovely it was .. The rusty axe 👌

Went today and had a breakfast. Would of been nice to have had a choice of unsmoked bacon instead of smoked bacon. They also put pepper all over it. I like Pepper but it doesn't agree with me. Wasn't asked if I wanted it or not. Other than that the food was nice.service was great.

We have ate at the Wighton many times before and the food has been perfectly cooked for a reasonable price and excellent service. Whilst the service is still great, the food is not. A new menu has been launched with a couple of changes so we were intrigued to see what new was to offer since we liked to eat here as a treat. We were majorly disappointed when our food arrived. The main food was overcooked, including the Hunter's chicken schnitzel making it tasteless and unpleasant to eat. The chips tasted like they had been sat for a while under a heating lamp and tasted/looked like low quality and bruised potatoes had been used. We ordered some sides including the garlic focaccia bread for £3.29. We were disappointed when it arrived and ended up being just two thin overcooked slices from what looked like a big garlic focaccia bread. The menu should have stated slices so you don’t assume it would be a small focaccia bread. You used to get a whole tear and share mini square loaf for a similar price and better quality/taste. The food was absolutely not worth the money, I don’t think we will be in a hurry to return. This will no longer be one of our go to places for food.
