I’m gluten free as I’m coeliac. Not only is this a most attractive venue, but the staff took great care to make sure I was fully informed about what food would be ok for me to eat, and did so in a kind and helpful manner (not always the case in restaurants). What’s more the food was delicious! The tomatoes and baguettes can all be done with gluten free bread. In so many restaurants this means you get small portions as a slice of gluten free bread is always much smaller than a normal loaf. Here I was given TWO toasties to compensate for that. Roasted red pepper, mozzarella , falafel and pesto accompanied by a huge serving of salad leaves. Fantastic. I’ll definitely be back. Coeliacs take note!
We went for dinner on weekdays to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were welcomed and given a table straight away to the seat which was good. It seemed like they had made some changes and renovations. Last time I went it was cramped and a bit dull but now the interior looks quite vibrant. The table setup is still quite next to each other and if the restaurant is full there isn't much space to move in and out easily. I would definitely not recommend any parents with a small child who needs pram access and even disabled people.
Food was as usual good. We ordered sheekh kabab and paneer in the starter which was delicious and the main was good too.
Overall it's a good place and definitely worth visiting.
I have been here so many times. Friendly great staff. Amazing proper pizzas at sensible prices.
Always busy in the early evening due to being next up the Hippodrome. But they always get you through in time to get to the show.
The other thing I can always rely upon is that the red wine is at the right temperature, and a great price.
Seek this place out!!
The small plates menu has 9 different dishes on it, and I could happily eat them all.
We ate here for lunch - family of 6, and shared 6 of the dishes. Amazing food.
We also had the sharing stew- also great - oh and the spiced potatoes.
Can’t recommend highly enough.
Lovely food served by a lovely family. We really enjoy Nepalese and have been to a variety of restaurants like this, in fact probably the 4th one called yak and yeti that we have been to! Food was good, my wife loves momos, the mains were tasty also, thoroughly recommend you try this place. Bit cold, they needed more than one plug in radiator!
Wow! It was the tastiest food I've had in a long time!
Service was friendly, the restaurant was cosy, the food first rate.
I'd recommend the potato and leek soup and the slow cooked beef, mash and brocoli was 5* I was sad when my plate was empty.
We have the most delicious lunch at the Crab Shed. We had scallops, king prawns, the Crab Bisque which were all very tasty. The fish of the day, crab linguine, bouillabaisse, fish and chips and Dressed Crab were exceptional main courses. My two children really enjoyed their meals, the portions for all were great and nobody was left disappointed. I would highly recommend a lunch or Dinner at the Crab shed in Salcombe.
