This is a traditional, independantly owned cafe which was welcoming and unpretentious. The menu was mainly fried food but my husband had a breakfast and my friend and I had a greek burger. It was all piping hot, good quality ingredients and a thoroughly enjoyable occasion. Reasonably priced and would ceratinly go again.
Called in here for tea and cake after passing it many times. Can honestly say this is a real patisserie! We had the most amazing cheesecake which tasted how I remember a cheesecake should taste. Breads looked delicious too, as did the sausage rolls which looked totally melt in your mouth. So lovely to have in independent business to try inplace of the usual chains. We will be back.
I love fudge and this place does really nice and decent size fudge. I especially loved the baileys flavoured fudge and went back for more the next day. The only negative is, I wish i had brought much more than i did to take home.

Delightful dinner at Salt and Samphire. A very nice restaurant run by a dedicated couple. We both had the Durban curry which was very flavorful and just on the right side of 🔥 ! Not too expensive with a good choice on the menu. I would say that the open kitchen is perhaps too open...if it could be screened a little more, I think customers might prefer it.
Not been here before. Quirky decor which i really liked.
Had a mixed starter. Huge prawn and chicken strip in tempura we excellent. Chicken satay had very tender chicken stripes and a wonderful satay sauce.
Some had the thai green and red currys. Good heat but plenty of flavour. I had a beef stir fry and noodles. Beef once again very tender.
Would certainly go again.
Staff were very attentive and genuinely pleased we enjoyed our meal.
Our daughter has been raving about the salad boxes and scotch eggs, I finally made it today. Had a bit of everything in the large salad box, certainly full of flavour, bombay scotch egg packs a real punch too. Can't wait to go back and sample the quiches.
This place is fabulous! Always fresh, home cooked food, decent portions and good selection. Fantastic food, great atmosphere, friendly service and good value …what’s not to love?!
We came for Sunday lunch and the Carvery, an ideal way to get lunch. The meats and vegetables were well cooked and all tasted delicious. It is good value for money and a nice atmosphere.. The staff are always helpful and are just nice people. We plan to come regularly and always have had a good experience.
Overall had a great experience. Only negative was we had issues being seated. Originally told absolutely no space available that evening. So walked around the corner, booked a table online, then reappeared 15 mins later to have a table. Member of staff looked perplexed upon revisit and seemed suspicious of us. No need to lie to customers, treat us better and all good. Food delicious, customer service once seated excellent.

Paddy and Bernie perfect hosts. Lovely bijou hotel right on the esplanade handy for everything, it may be small but it is spotlessly clean, warm and friendly, comfortable and laid back. We found this only two years ago but we try and get back here two or three times a year. It deserves patronage, but don't all rush, leave some for us.
We were looking for a light lunch as we intended to eat a main meal in the evening. Unusually we took the leap and climbed two flights of stairs to the delightful cafe on 2 nd floor overlooking the Parade The staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Two of the party had a variety of Ploughmans lunch the cheese was ample and the ham was thick gammon ham. I ate a smoked mackerel salad delicious. The fourth had a prawn sandwich with a glass of wine. Highly recommend for all.
