We were on a day trip to sample the Bristol beer scene, the Drapers Arms came very highly rated by our local micro pub owner. From the moment you entered this place felt special and it certainly was friendly greeting, excellent choice of real ales and all clientele were very sociable. The entire place had a friendly buzz about it. We arrived just after opening 1615hrs and sadly had to leave at 1800hrs but managed a couple of pints each. Could have probably managed another but too much chat with other friendly customers :-) !! We hope to return.

This gem of a small pub is wonderful. Excellent craft ales specialising in local brews. Nibbles provided on Sunday and inside and outside seating.

Over for the cricket. A superb pub. The neighbourhood sense of community underscored with being able to take the bespoke ales and excellent wines to Jean’s exceptional Thai restaurant. A mixed, fun, eclectic clientele added to the fun. Read a few negatives. Clowns. Not the experience of those who know. Highly recommended.

Think this place is a little gem , stumbled across it in a 3 night stay in Bristol . Everything you want from a micro pub no fuss or full of knob heads .nice relaxed atmosphere very warm and friendly .. really enjoyed the hoppy ale .. Only disappointment is my trip was cut short and didn’t get to go on the 3rd night .. Iam sure I will be back as I have more work in the area

What a great watering hole! For someone who likes decent beer and like to explore different breweries, it’s definitely the place to go. The bar staff are great! I went to the pub on a Sunday and the bar staff (Ellen and Zee) were hard at work. Sure of a warm welcome; and with a great bunch of locals, I always go home relaxed after a couple of pints. The world needs more local pubs like these to escape and relax, especially with all the trouble the world faces at this time…. Cheers!

They had an interesting sounding stout on "Mint and Chocolate", sorry, cannot remember the brewery. A beer like that I ask for a sample before purchase but this was refused. I opted for a pint. It was quite flavorsome. A bit rich for me. Let's just say I just about made it home, but wasn't quite sure which end to put over the toilet. I will not be going back there again!!!

The Drapers is, to me, a friendly welcoming place. The people are amazing with a common bond of a love of proper ale and an understanding of like minded people. Friendly and polite all of the time. The early closing is a bonus and a hassle in one as its sometimes too early to go home, if you know what I mean. The staff are amazing and the treatment is second to none. Zee, has an ability to know what to recommend and is an asset to the Drapers community.

Garvan at the Drapers Arms is a proper beer enthusiast. Despite all of the restrictions in Covid times with 'tiers' and 'lockdowns', the Drapers Arms are consistently supplying good real ale. They were one of the few pubs in Bristol serving take-away cask ale (when they were allowed to), and now (in our February lockdown) they are delivering proper beer (in 5 litre 'bag in box'), to keep the thirsty punters such as myself happy. For those of us who long for good quality _cask_ ale, rather than fizzy bottles and cans, they are a marvel. We certainly look forward to visiting the Drapers again properly, once they can re-open for real visits.

Not just another old shop front converted into a Micro Pub selling expensive Craft Beer, instead a well run Micro Pub selling good condition, mainly local keg beer at a reasonable price. £3.70 a pint. In addition wine and gin is available. Good friendly, safe, relaxed vibe with spot on service. A real find.

I arrived at 5pm today with a 2 litre growler and was going to buy some wine too. I told the girl behind the counter that I was looking for a hoppy fruity pale ale to fill up the growler and I could see there were three on the board. Without asking, she gave me a sample of one called Ferrymans which I wouldn't have chosen as it had (bitter) by the side of it. It wasn't right so I asked if I could try one of the other pale ales. She gave me a very small amount and it was more to my taste but when I asked if I could possibly sample the American Pale Ale just to be sure, she told me that I was rude to ask for a third sample. She did reluctantly go and get it but by that time I was so shocked by her meanness that I told her to forget it and left without buying anything...just for the sake of 1cm of beer. It was clear I didn't want to taste the whole board! I'm so disappointed as I usually love the Drapers Arms, I'm even inside with one of my friends in your CAMRA celebration pic on this site. Can you please ask your staff to be a bit kinder? Thanks.

We called in for a couple of pints on route to a football match at Ashton Gate, although the pub is close to the Memorial ground. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. About 8 real ales from the barrel. No hand pumps. 20p a pint discount for Camra members. We had a couple of good pints each and a crusty cob with cheddar and red onion (no other choice) , which went well with the ale. Reasonable prices.

Drapers arms We had been in the Thai Restaurant next door and were keen to get into The Drapers Arms before they closed (9.30pm they call last orders). This is a quirky little Micro pub at 447 Gloucester Rd. Its a one room venue (Max 40 people) that offers a range of real ales (sadly they have stopped selling real Cider as they just didn't shift enough, so ignore what it says on the web site). They don't have a Juke Box, a TV or Wifi, they don't sell hot food but you can get a pickled egg. They have an incredible range of beers and the customers looked like they knew their stuff. It's worth checking the web site to get some background on this place as it has a bit of history. I'm not a beer drinker (though I was tempted) but my mate sampled 3-4 different beers before settling on one but then he forgot its name, so it seems we have to go back again to check it out. Great atmosphere, nice environment full of character. This is an idea place for a good night out and to sample a few beers. There were plenty of women in the bar so its not a male dominated environment. It looked clean and welcoming. Well worth a visit.
