Really great coffee in a cosy space

A coffee shop tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

A small cafe in Bristol city centre. Nice interior, but no wifi. Good selection of savoury items for brunch/lunch.

Very cosy coffee shop with barista that knows what he’s doing. I tried the piccolo coffee, which is basically just a Cortado. It was well-made. However, North Americans beware that this coffee shop just like many others in England offer Ethiopian coffee. Compared to Colombian coffee that we are used to is a bit more bitter and requires some getting used to. The interior of the coffee shop is very cozy. However, space is limited. We were lucky enough to sit by the window.

Very Good food and coffee. Atmosphere especially very cosy since its small and has a lot of wooden furniture. Service is amazing too. Highly recommended once you are around.

Unfortunately, the employee wasn't particularly friendly to me. Unfortunately, I didn't like the espresso at all - it was far too sour and floral. To me it tasted more like coffee ground powder had been misused for espresso.

Actually I don’t want to share this review on Google map as it’s my one of secret perfect cafe in Bristol city centre. Artisan espresso and barista is very professional. Price is reasonable and it’s a quiet place to stop on. After got an expensive milk water( named cappuccino) in the kiosk(in front of Caffè Nero, damn because Nero was closed ) in Clarks Village( outlet) on last Sun, I really need to get the real nice coffee. P.S. : Place to enjoy coffee! Card payment only No toilet Please keep quiet, here is not a kid’s playground

Coffee lovely and staff friendly, my only issue was after the coffee was made to go I was told card payment only. I wanted to support an independent cafe for future lunches with friends and colleagues but in future I will take my cash elsewhere.

Stopped by for a V60 - very cute shop with wood benches and outdoor seating. Excellent coffee; made slow, rich in flavour, nice sized cup for reasonable price. Quiet spot to work (though you won't find a ton of proper tables inside - was a bit hunched over). A few pastries available (might have more in the morning - I popped in around 11).

Don't even think about going anywhere else for your coffee and croissant if you're anywhere near the centre of Bristol!

A small coffeeshop in the older part of Bristol, just near the courts which makes for an interesting clientele - including lawyers in traditional garb. The coffee is excellent and there is a small selection of baked goods and toasties. I particularly enjoy the toast and peanut butter. It has a cosy atmosphere and the staff are helpful and friendly.

This is my go-to coffee shop in Bristol. Great coffee, nice cakes and a chilled, pleasant place to sit. Unlike a previous review, I find the staff (including 'the brunette') to be polite and very friendly. I chat to them whenever I'm there! Highly recommended! 👌

Very handy, if you have reason to visit Bristol Crown Court. Small location, and their coffee tends to be a little strong and slightly bitter (not the best) but hey it’s convenient and very close to Corn Street, and St Nicholas market etc

I ordered a oat milk chai latte which was alright - my partner ordered a oat milk flat white which he also found to be okay. The café was a little loud, but had a lovely interior.

Must stop in Bristol. Definitely the smallest coffeeshop in town, and yet the one I love the most. The coffee quality is outstanding!

Oat cappuccino was smooth and delicious, and the hot chocolate was perfectly sweet. Also a great piece of lemon polenta, in a very cute little coffee shop, with a great friendly barista. I’m taking off a star because one of the baristas (a blonde lady) gave off a really immature and rude vibe, which I felt conflicted with the style of the coffee shop. Also no toilet.

Popped in here today. I have several intolerances and the person who served me was very kind, patient and helpful, which I really appreciated. The banana bread and oat milk hot chocolate were lovely too :)

I’m frequently in the area on business, so I’ll nip into Small Street for a Latte, it’s everything you’d want a coffee shop to be, it’s a quaint and rustic looking place. Whenever I visit there’ll always be someone sat in the corner with their head buried in a book or someone working away on their laptop. Whoever greets you behind the counter is always warm and friendly, there’s the most tempting and alluring sandwiches or cakes on the counter, and the smell of the fresh coffee is amazing also!! I drink a lot of coffee and I love to sit and watch the world go by, if I had more time I’d love to sit outside here and do this, unfortunately my busy job means I’m unable to do so, maybe one day. Onto the coffee itself, it’s genuinely the nicest Latte I’ve ever tasted! The coffee itself is made nearby which makes it even more appealing, it’s a myth when someone tells you that Columbia make the worlds best coffee, they need to try here!

A must just down from the Bristol Harbour Hotel. Lovely coffee and a great selection of filled doughnuts Only disappointment it wasn't open on the Saturday morning.

Certainly a place to get a fantastic coffee. The staff were very nice and attentive. I just wish they were open more days and on weekends. That's the only reason it's not 5 star.

lovely lil cafe with the friendliest staff. the coffee was pretty decent; i could definitely taste the quality of the beans, but had to take a star off as it was slightly too bitter and ashy for my palate.

Probably one of the top 3 best coffees in Bristol. The espresso beans used here are top quality and the baristas really know what they’re doing (down to recommending whether you have milk or not with the guest filter). They’re also just really nice, gentle people which I appreciate. Set on a lovely quiet road in Bristol I love to get a coffee and sit outside to stare at the building opposite.

It's not just the coffee that makes a coffee shop it's the staff as well. Lovely small independant coffee shop, great coffee and great staff and the best mochatado😉

Nice little cafe and nice little spot on the street! Wouldn’t say the coffee was as great as the other reviews are implementing however everyone has there acquired taste. Came here to try for myself although I thought it was too strong and had a bit of a weird after taste to it, nonetheless I suggest you try for yourself

Possibly the best coffee in this area! As I’ve not tried all the coffee places in Bristol I’m hesitant to go that far! I tried a decaf oat flat white and the coffee was superior to anything else around here. It was £3 which is cheaper and tastes better than another independent coffee place on the next road down by the Grand. It’s obvious Small Street Espresso care about the quality of their coffee and won’t over charge for it. Also fully recyclable cups booya!

Another great coffee in the centre!! We went there on a weekday and sat on the street side. Its house blend is a very balanced one with combination of El Salvador, Ethiopia, Panama and Uganda. The blend is roasted by Clifton. It was so smooth with the milk with balanced taste! Gonna come back for filter coffee next time!!

Visiting Bristol and chose this coffee shop based on the good reviews we had read. Was not disappointed. One of the nicest coffees we have had and the cake (millionaires brownie) was fantastic and I’d highly recommend it!

Sly and most sufisticated coffee .. on small street ' definitely not small mind you on the service and grind .. fab tasting espresso with smiley and friendly staff. A great first time experience here also with a flapjack that was vegan and upmost yummy!

Today i visited your shop while in the area on business and was clearly wearing a face covering exempt lanyard. I watched the previous customer go in and order and stand by the counter with the shop door shut as it was 2 degrees outside! She left and i went to go in and order but was told i had to stand by the door with it wide open and shout my order across as i was not wearing a mask! I showed my tag stating i have a hidden disability that means i cant wear one. The woman serving was very rude and said she didnt know what i had! I was nearly in tears and reminded her about discrimination. She tried to backtrack by offering a free pastry. I left feeling so shocked and embarresed!

This is an amazing little coffee shop I discovered many years ago round the corner from my office. Their coffee is amazing and they always have a delicious selection of cakes from Harts bakery to enjoy too. The staff are really friendly and getting my morning coffee is a real treat.

1st time visit, excellent coffee. 2nd time visit today. Great coffee, wouldn't revisit though. Extremely busy, minimal seating and no toilet. A lot of people just sat talking after they finish their drinks which takes up a lot of space.

Excellent coffee on offer and to ingredients take away as well. Tasty looking snacks from pastries to sandwiches. Everything at a fair price with very friendly and efficient service.

Best coffee in Bristol with a smile!

My favourite little retreat to go and have a quiet coffee in the heart of Bristol. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, always happy to see you and have a smile on their faces. Great selection of local and guest beans available, and the coffee served is some of the best in the South West.

A must visit when in Bristol! Small street has an incredibly cosy vibe with a smell of beautiful single origin coffee filling the air. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, giving you plenty of time to make up your mind about what you'd like to order. Sometimes you just need a coffee chocolate hit (instead of a filter coffee) and there's absolutely no judgement from the baristas.

Its one of Bristols small coffee independant shops (the other one thats cool is just near dangun, its really cool and really love the place, as i am sometimes sitting here reading some books, talking to the nice bartenders and expierence different kinds of coffee too.
