We were staying locally for a few days and popped across the street to this gem of a pub. I love the decor and there’s a fantastic wood burning fire blazing in the grate. Kept us toasty in the chilly rainy evening. Minty the landlord is great and keeps the place clean and welcoming. They don’t serve food but you can have a take away delivered there. Minty provides you with plates and cutlery and does the clean up afterwards. We visited twice whilst staying in the area (fabulous B&B directly across the street) and had a take away (Indian) both times. Great place to spend the evening with friends, really good music and Minty hosts a quiz night and Karaoke night there. If in Kew Stoke, you really should pop in for a pint (or other libation).

Me and my partner Joanne found this little gem of a pub whilst out walking and weren't disappointed. Martin the landlord made you feel really welcome as did his partner Judith. Martin even bought us a pint each as It was my birthday. We stayed to watch the Wales six nations game and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were staying at Pontins where the beer tasted like a combination of a bad fart and an old man's shoe. We went back to this pub the next evening and were once again welcomed with open arms. If you are ever in the area I thoroughly recommend that you visit this great establishment.

A proper pub! We popped in for a lunchtime drink whilst staying at the Pontins site. We had a lovely afternoon in a traditional village pub, the memorabilia around the pub filled my blogging desires and filmed around the pub as it was so nice to see a traditional pub was thriving. The landlord was so friendly made us feel more than welcome, and had time to chat with us. I could not recommend the new inn enough, you must visit for a drink if your in the area.

I can not rate this pub highly enough. We were staying at the Church House B&B for a 1 night stop over and popped in for a few drinks. The landlord Martin is an exceptional bloke. Really friendly and genuinely interested in both his locals and visitors alike. If you want food however then I would amble down to the local fish and chip shop at sandy beach which also sells alcohol including shorts and mixers! Or alternatively if you want to stay put then have a sandwich roll and a pickled egg in the pub.We selected the chippy and watched the sunset then went back to the pub and enjoyed the rest of the night chatting with Martin and Sian and some of the other locals. It's not often you come across genuinely nice people so it was a real pleasure to spend the last night of our holiday with Martin and Sian.I hope the birthday party went well Martin. Sorry we could not stay to make it.

The New Inn is such an inviting pub. Sian and Martin are very kind and speak to us like we are locals. They run the pub with such finesse even when the place is full like yesterday when they had a live ska music evening for the owner’s birthday. Well what can we say, we walked into this pub during the lunchtime period and immediately had a warm welcome. We were greeted by the friendly face and bubbly personality of the barmaid Sian. We stayed for for a couple of hours, she was knowledgeable of the local area and how to get around, she was easy to chat to and attentive. We met the landlord Martin who was also very friendly, welcoming and interested in having a conversation. We went back for a quiz of the evening and again was greeted with a warm welcome by Sian who remembered our drinks order. We met a few of the locals who were also very friendly and accommodating to the point where we felt like it was our local! The pub was clean, safe and they adhered to covid rules. A comfortable ,warm welcoming place well worth a visit if you miss the atmosphere of a local village pub and to quote a previous review probably the friendliest local pub you can visit. Buzzing, friendly place where the truly bonkers landlord makes everyone, locals and visitors alike, feel welcome.Martin is also obsessive about the quality of his beer and serves a good range of ciders/ales/lagers; shame no one from CAMRA appears to have visited! It's looking really smart since the refurbishment, but still cosy and quirky. Although they're not yet serving food except for special events, you might get a plate of late-night chips if you ask nicely!Dog-friendly. Visited this pub in the past when staying at the b&b next to it and it was ok for a quiet drink but I must say that the current landlord has made this pub a real pleasure to visit and makes you feel like you are one of the locals ... friendly, comfortable and a definite improvement to previous landlords. I just wished we had a place like this including the landlord closer to home (in Brum) !! They are Dog friendly which made life easier for us as my dog is a pensioner and has separation anxiety ... so he was quite content and this allowed us to play pool, have a drink and relax without worry. 5 stars ... keep up the good work it is appreciated

The New Inn is indeed, as a previous reviewer has said, 'a little gem'. The new proprietor, Martin is one of those landlords you rarely come across in these days of managed pubs; the life and soul of the place, remembering us from our previous visit and welcoming us as if we'd been going there for years. The place consequently has a real buzz about it - even in its quieter moments when locals and visitors alike share a joke and talk about events in the world outside. At other times you might catch a quiz or the local sea shanty group that meets and plays there on alternate Sundays. If we were local you'd certainly catch us in there most evenings and as visitors we'll definitely be popping back next time we're down that way. Five stars shining. Long may you run!
