Nice, cozy,and very clean, its very unusual to find tables cleaned straight away and not sticky. Food 5*** and friendly welcoming athmosphere Recommend to anyone.

I pass this pub regularly, on the way to work and always wondered what the food was like? So I popped in today, to try out the roast, after a mate recommended it. Was not disappointed, it was a huge portion (pwoar) I opted for chunks of lamb (I know they're cute but they taste so good) and it came with a massive Yorkshire pudding, roast potato's and the usual vegetables. I've got a big appetite but it was a bit of battle to eat it all but I managed too, as it was damn good. The staff we're friendly and very welcoming, the pubs very homely too. I'd full recommend coming here yourselves you won't be disappointed

We went for our Sunday lunch. The food was delicious. Served piping hot and fresh. Sometimes Vegetarian options are dry and boring....This cauliflower steak was tasty and cooked and presented with care. We look forward to our next visit

So we went there after seeing an ad on Facebook. They opened up for the first time on a Tuesday. We heard that they would have music playing, its a basic pub, sitting inside though lots of people were outside. Everyone was really friendly, dogs allowed. It's a lovely come as you are pub, nothing fancy but very welcoming. We had a great night. Prices were reasonable too. We will go back. They do do food but at the weekend and later in the week. Great night.

Use it regularly for relaxation. Always friendly, clean and safe. Perfectly situated halfway along the Bristol/ portishead cycle path. Lovely food cooked and presented beautifully. Excellent.

This is what you call a proper pub. Sunday roast provides an option for everyone and if you don’t fancy the usual Sunday dinner they even have a list of things to satisfy everyone’s taste. Chico the landlord made us feel extremely welcome and even sat down to have a chat with us. Everyone in this pub was friendly and said hello when we walked in and the pints are extremely cheap for what seems to be a stuck up area when driving around. Right under the bridge offers bench seating which we used to finish out drinks before heading home for the euros. Definitely will be back again and will be speaking to Chico to book events!

I highly recommend it, very nice place, huge portions, delicious food, I'm not a fan of roast but I really like it here, as well as other dishes, the owner Czesiu is a very positive and nice guy 💪👍 I recommend it

I have been here twice already and will come every week not big fan of roasted dinners before but this place changed me and i love roasted dinners now and all my family as well big portions served and friendly people highly recommend everyone

Spent an afternoon here on 1/12/23 for a birthday celebration with my family. Chico, the landlord opened early especially for us and couldn’t have been a better host.

We came up from Oxford last Tuesday, we did karaoke with the owner and all of the locals and it was amazing never had a better night, will definitely be back soon to have another go on the karaoke machine. Drinks and service was perfect

Just had a bangin’ roast with 3 meats at The Star. One of the best I’ve had, great portion size and flavour. Will definitely be back!!! If I don’t have time to eat in on my next visit I’ll be getting a take out. Keep up the good work!

The Sunday roast at the star inn is the best I have EVER had. I cannot recommend it enough. Amazing roasters, melt in your mouth meat, beautiful vegetables. Absolutely delicious.

A raw village pub with great food have had breakfast which is great , sunday roast great and steak on a wednesday night probably the very best . All at reasonable prices . Dog friendly too . Well done Amy and team x

Had a takeaway roast from the Star today for the first time. Can honestly say it’s the best roast I’ve ever had!! Highly recommended.

Lovely beer, the staff are great, and the breakfast on the weekend are to die for, I highly recomend it. Thanks Amy and crew 😊😊 new to the star banging grub, and now Sunday roasts, I have tried the lot nothing left on my plate 👌.

Saw some poor bloke told off by the landlady this morning becuase his dog barked a couple times. Won't be taking our dogs there and its a shame as its next to a good park for walking!

Bought a voucher for here off living social. 3 courses for £15 for 2 people. It was a bit of a drive for us but found it easily enough. Tidy pub with very clean toilets. Received a lovely greeting and staff were very friendly. We choose the pate starter which I don't think was home made but we both enjoyed. We both had the beef dinner. 2 large slices of beef, lots of roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and stuffing. And a dish of veg to share. Very Good size portions, tasted ok but nothing amazing. Desserts were not home made either but tasted really good. Overall absolute bargain. Drinks were very cheap too. It's a bit far away for us so we probably wouldn't go again. But value for money it's worth a visit so you don't have to do the dishes.

Found them on Living Social site and went for a 3-course Sunday Lunch. Had a nice bowl of soup (could have been hotter), roast beef lunch - beef tasty and roast potatoes very crisp and fluffy. Sticky toffee pudding and blueberry cheesecake with cream for dessert. All in all, very pleasant meal. Would have been nice to have menu's on tables but landlord was very friendly and pleasant. A good Sunday lunch.

Initially we visited on group on and have since gone back numerous times without the group on deal. The food is spot on every time and such good value. All the staff are fantastic and throughly welcoming. Once you arrive your seated and then your meal is ready and waiting for you when your ready. We couldn't ask for any better. Can't wait for our next visit

We visited for Sunday roast lunch on a Groupon. This is an old-fashioned village pub which has a great atmosphere. Kevin, the landlord, was friendly as was the girl behind the bar. The cooking is done by Kevin's wife and was much better than I dared to expect from a Groupon deal - every vegetable was tasty, the meat succulent with lots of roast potatoes. We will definitely be back.

Stopped here for breakfast nice and cheapish. If they did breakfast and a pint would have been better.
