Dr Fox’s Tearoom in North Somerset

Such a lovely little gem in Weston. A warm and friendly greeting and the amount you get for what you pay is nuts, we had to take our time to get through it all. Staff took time talking to customers and the employees all had a smile on their faces and nothing was too much trouble for them, and the owner was present, also getting involved and making it a positive and personal experience. Such a cosy little tea room, that gives great food and service and don't take themselves too seriously - in a good way of course!! made even better on such a horrid rainy day. We were even offered a spare umbrella they had so we didn't get wet going to our car! Can't wait to come back for an afternoon tea!

Often stop here post run or cycle. Lovely little cafe and coffee is good, often have the latte and a little cake also. Nice variety on the menu and nice to sit outside if the weathers nice. Good views of the seafront.

Don’t bother going here unless you like cheese. The only savoury option that didn’t contain it was a bacon roll. To add insult to injury the soup (which I ended up ordering) came with a cheese scone. I asked for just plain bread, and I got a slice of Tesco Economy - which they charged me £2.50 for!!! This place used to be superb, chunky bread, huge range of sandwich fillings. No way will I ever go back.

We popped in and found a jewel of a tearoom. Fresh, homemade cakes and a big variety of tea and coffee. Very friendly staff and service was great. They're pet friendly and what a location.

Good little place, went in for an afternoon scone and a cup of tea. Really tasty and well priced, was a shame the Gluten free scones were so small in comparison to the normal ones, however, was nice it was an option.

We just stopped for an afternoon bite. Coffee cake with no nuts. Perfect for my wife who has a nasty allergy to nuts. Hot chocolates for both if us and our friends lived the Guinness chocolate cake. Very nice atmosphere and located just by the sea.

Disapointed. We wanted a traditional cream tea, scones, cream,jam, and tea, but had to buy them separate, portions were meagre. Not what we were expecting.

I am writing to share my recent experience at your tea room. It was truly delightful! The food was wonderful, prepared with care and served with a smile. What made it even more special was the very friendly atmosphere in your tea room. As a dog owner, another big bonus for us was that dogs are welcome at your establishment. Brilliant service waiters always have a smile and there's two gulten free options of scone. Really good quality. Brilliant place for lunch. They even give extra cream if you ask. Lovely waiters to.

Lovely food, a great place for afternoon tea..

A cake lovers haven! We fancied a brew and some cake on a very windy day on our holiday. The welcome was warm and service so friendly. Lovely victorian building and cute tea sets and plates. I had a victoria sponge, other half had the same, dad had a cheese and onion scone with lovely chutney, and mum had a cream tea. Well worth a visit.

My wife had an afternoon tea at Dr Fox's as part of a present from her previous work place. We took the day off to use it on a Monday. Service, food staff were excellent. 6 different sandwiches came as part of the package. (cheese and pickle, salmon and cream cheese, egg and rocket, ham and mustard, cucumber and homous and red pepper) 4 mini scones (2 of each, fruit and plain) with jam and cream. Then 2 cupcakes and 2 slices of Victoria Sponge. Lovely place well spaced out seating. Dog friendly as well if required. Will visit again. 😍🙂😋 Update - 20th April 2024. Returned for another afternoon tea today as my wife had been given another gift from her current work place. The weather was absolutely spot on. ☀️ Staff were superb, friendly, attentive and interacted well with all customers that entered whilst we were there. Food absolutely spot on, a great mix of sandwiches and cake. Wife again had an Americano and a pot of tea for me which without trouble were both refilled whilst there. I liked it so much that I have bought another afternoon tea for my Mum as it's her birthday next week. Highly recommend, 💯👍🏼😍

As an afternoon tea aficionado - this place is truly a hidden gem! The Victoria sponge was Bake-off worthy. I wish I’d had time to have the afternoon tea as it looked delicious. Great but not overly solicitous service. Cute vintage tea room vibes with a fox 🦊 theme - obvs. Please book to avoid disappointment.

I visited here just after opening for the season and apart from that the cafe was a little chilly we had a lovely lunch. The home made savoury scones were delicious and the pain is pretty good too! There was a good range of drinks and while the food menu is very limited we were still able to find something to meet all our fussy eating needs! The staff were lovely and the environment a bit quirky but we loved it. The cafe is in one of the old buildings on Knightstone Island and we managed to park right outside (needed a disabled space) and while I am sure parking is more troublesome in the season we would recommend a visit and am sure we will visit again for lunch (but not over the summer!)

Love this place. Best tea room in Weston with fantastic cake, all sorts of loose leaf tea and great views of Weston pier and seafront. Really good Gluten Free offering fit for celiacs.

A hidden gem absolutely love it. It certainly impressed my mother in law who came all the way from Bath for the experience.

I was Highly recommended. But very Dissapointed with the selection of sandwiches , my friend had a nice selection of vegetarian and it would of been nice on a separate plate for my Ham and meat selection, which I had egg /cheese , I Thought the price was way to much nearly 40.00. I assumed we would have had a few !!! chrisps or savoury eggs Which would of been lovely !! Staff lovely though

Pleasant surroundings and happy staff but very slow service when we visited and coffee was only average.

Nice little cafe. It looks closed in the winter, but give the door a push and it is open! My tea was only lukewarm, but my daughter's latte was delicious and piping hot. With the tea, maybe they need to warm the pot with boiling water first. I can tecommend their lattes and their cakes are good as well.

Excellent home made food. Always made very welcome & our go to place when visiting Weston. Give it a try ,it never disappoints.

Enjoyed an Afternoon Tea for 2 and overall, we were very happy. The quality of the food tasted fresh and delicious. The staff were really friendly and polite and it's good value. Only a couple of small things would have made this visit perfect. My partner had a milkshake instead of tea and unfortunately it tasted like box powder shake, not fresh like the food. And we were not checked on during our visit so I was not offered a refill of tea despite it being unlimited. However, this wouldn't stop us booking again, i highly recommend this tearoom!

Very friendly stopped for coffee and cake .lovely couldn't fault and was allowed to take dog in. Perfect 👌.

We had a wonderful afternoon tea here. The food was delicious and a lovely mix of sandwiches, scones and cake. Our group had a vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free, and our requirements were really carefully taken care of with excellent options for each, which was really appreciated. I’d recommend for a lovely treat while in Weston.

Latest visit 2023 Re visited Dr Fox cafe as now under new owners. Much improved since last visit. Young lady who served us very friendly and welcoming. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Lovely surroundings and very clean. Service was quick and efficient. Very nice coffee and fantastic coffee cake. I will definitely be revisiting. Well done on the improvement.... Last visit 2019. (previous owner) Could be better. Limited choice on lunch menu which there is no firm favourites eg. Bacon sandwich these are only served before 11.30 am. Scones and tea nice, breakfast looked good but was bland tasting, veggie sausages were mainly bread and leak not very appetising. Salmon and scrambled egg very nice. Whole experience not great due to fed up looking owner finding it difficult to smile and enjoy his career choice, and lack of acknowledgement from any staff member. A smile goes a long way.

We had a lovely Sunday afternoon tea stop at Dr Fox's. The staff were friendly and efficient, the space comfortable and stylish, and the cake.... The cake was delicious. I had the chocolate stout cake, on the recommendation of the server, and it was divine. The scones were lovely as well. Highly recommend this little place - nothing to fault!

A very cute Cafe locate on the island of Weston-super-mare. Have been twice for a low key Hen party and baby shower. The staff are friendly and adaptable for the order of a large group. Afternoon tea selection is very nice, with plenty of selection for sandwiches, including scones and cakes. Would happily continue to visit this cute cafe.

Stumbled upon this tea room whilst visiting WSM for the day. Luckily for us there was an outside table available as it was a glorious day and the view is lovely. We ordered two toasted paninis (Brie and cranberry and cheese and caramelised onion) and some coffee cake. Their food is all handmade on the premises and the quality shines through. The panines were delicious (especially the Brie and cranberry), as was the cake. They are a family business and their enthusiasm for their products is obvious to see and their customer service is excellent. If we are ever in Weston again we will look forward to a return visit.

Came in for a light snack while out for a stroll and left very happy. Scenic views across the bay from outdoor seating make a lovely location. Great coffee, tea and tasty scones and cakes made for a very pleasurable way to spend 45 mins!

We had reserved a table for afternoon tea and despite being 15 mins early, were warmly welcomed to a set table and brought a jug of iced water. (Lovely on a hot day like today.) The food was both generous and delicious. Particular highlights were the mini scones (which meant that you still had room for the cakes on the top layer!) and the fact that the tea and Americano were willingly refilled at no extra charge. Beautiful surroundings, light cakes and the freshest sandwiches. Can't wait to go back!

Really disappointing experience! Arrived late morning & asked for a table for 2. Was given the choice of two tables. When we sat down just an afternoon tea menu was on the table. Waitress cane over soon after with a jug of water, I asked for a menu & said we would like some drinks. She then realised we'd been seated on a reserved table, apologised & said she would get an empty table cleared straightaway which was fine & we fully understood so we moved out of the way & walked towards the other table. Several other tables were vacated at the same time so we waited patiently for several minutes, however no-one cleared the table we were waiting for & none of the staff acknowledged us & then a member of staff came & started to clear a different table & didn't even look up even though we were standing very close by. At that point I as it was about 5 mins we'd waited we gave up & left.

Great place to stop for tea and scone ( or cake ) great walk along the front and the are to this tea shop. Beautiful fresh scones, butter and jam. Staff were lovely and very quick with service. Very quiet place to enjoy your drinks and food.

We came across this tearoom by accident after walking around the outside of the old swimming baths on Knightstone Island. A lovely ambiance with welcoming staff and tasty home made cakes. I will definitely return next time I visit Weston

Visited yesterday for an afternoon tea with my daughter, who is vegan. Delicious food snd drinks, all freshly prepared. The owner was very friendly, welcoming and obliging and was more than happy to supply us with doggy-bags for what we hadn't managed to eat! The tearoom is very cosy with lovely, quirky decor. Will definitely be returning!

We had a private party at Dr Foxes and we were delighted! Alyson was brilliant to communicate with and on the party day nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing and everyone had a great time, would definitely recommend.

This is a truly lovely, but out of the way tea shop. The service is 1st class and happy. I did stupidly also have a slice of the coffee cake, it was amazing but large. I left feeling very full and satisfied.

Yesterday was my fourth visit to Dr Fox’s Tearoom for an afternoon tea. This time my visit was with family. The owner and staff are always wonderfully warm and friendly and the cafe is lovely and cosy. One of our party is particularly fussy and they were so accommodating, making a separate selection of sandwiches with plain fillings for them. Everything on the plates was fresh and delicious and the cakes light and fluffy. I loved the coffee and the tea drinkers drank more than they would normally because they enjoyed it so much. Thank you for another enjoyable afternoon. I’m so pleased that I’ve found your tearooms and have loved every visit.

We called with my parents to enjoy an amazing afternoon tea, we greeted by warm and friendly welcome. The choice of drinks was great, the coffee was excellent and loose leaf tea was perfect. The selection of sandwiches was fabulous and we had more than enough, the scones are the best I’ve ever had and the cakes with lovely, light and delicious. The ambience of the tea room added to the whole experience. The disabled facilities were fantastic with easy access and great a toilet, with lots of room. Overall we had a fantastic time thank you so much

Family of 5 and 2 dogs tried to stop for coffee and cake today. When eventually acknowledged we asked if we might be able to have a table outside, but were told that we would not be able to add an extra chair to a table as 'they only allowed 4 chairs around a table'? There was plenty of room so we were not really sure what the issue was, even the other customers who were dining looked perplexed. We actually felt like they just didn't want our custom. Certainly wouldn't bother visiting again.

This a lovely spot for a drink and snack with great views from the terrace. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Good selection of teas, coffees and cold drinks and fantastic homemade cakes that are to die for. Would definitely recommend.

Great location, with stunning views across to WsM from our table. Ordered the cream tea for my wife's birthday. It was presented well and was the perfect amount of sandwiches, cakes and mini scones for two with refillable tea and coffee. Sandwiches were fresh and tasty, cakes and scones were lovely. The ambiance was the best part, relaxing and unrushed with great service from very friendly staff, even put a candle on a cake for my wife's birthday.
