Don’t know where the bad reviewers have been but it’s not the same pub as me. This is a quaint English pub with low beamed ceilings and inglenook fireplaces tucked away from the main road. The food is fresh cooked with plenty of it, and the chef came out to check we were happy with our meal. The staff are pleasant, friendly and couldn’t be more accommodating if they tried. All the food came out together, on hot plates and was well cooked. If I had to make a criticism it would be that there is too much food (I hate wastage). My mum asked if she could have a doggy bag and the staff were happy to box up the remains of each persons meals into separate take away boxes. I’ll definitely be coming here again.

A lovely picturesque pub where the hospitality and food lived fully up to expectations. Our family party of 11 which include 5 children enjoyed an excellent Sunday roast. While the food was quite passable and reasonably priced (£20 for 2 meals from the ‘pub classics’ menu) it was a totally underwhelming experience. Pie with chips and vegetables - a square of pre cut shortcrust pastry plonked on top of a dish of filling (not a pie in my books) and a mountain of garden peas. Service was friendly but absolutely no effort to ask whether we wanted desserts or tea/coffee. Indeed felt that at 2100h they couldn’t wait for us to leave so they could shut the pub (which they did). Not at all welcoming. Wouldn’t recommend this as a place to eat.

Wow just wow! The roast dinners are to die for. We travelled from Bridgwater to check this pub out after hearing great things about it. There was 12 of us, neither of us could fault any of the food, roast and basket meals were brilliant and good value for money. I challenge you to find somewhere nearby as welcoming and serving such delicious food. Kids thoroughly enjoyed the garden and the bouncy castle. What a glorious sun trap but plenty of optional shade also. Highly recommended by us 😊

Lovely pub and friendly staff. We have eaten at the pub a few times now as we find the atmosphere very relaxing and friendly. The food has always been great, they even catered for a friend once who required a Gluten free meal. They seem to be pretty proactive at organising events and we have got involved in a few Bingo sessions and paid a visit when they had a special BBQ event. Dogs are welcome, so when we turn up with our Springers, they get spoilt, even when they turn up Soaking wet from a dip in the ditch along the Strawberry trail (which is a loverly walk if you are in the area). Would highly recommend for a relaxing atmosphere and great food.

We were extremely disappointed to have eaten at the Old Inn tonight. We have been going for a few years on and off with family and tonight was the worst in quality in food and choice we had experienced. Log fires secret nooks a garden for the summer and bar furniture smoothed by years of use from weary traveller and friendly local along with the atmosphere comes a good selection of ales lagers ciders and softs as well as a considered menu of english classics and country favourites. I have been a regular (once a month) for 40yrs with different owners. Now it is really the best and dog friendly pub I know. Something for everyone. Great food. 17th Century pub, nice fire 🔥 place, with plenty of seating or hold on to the many leather straps hanging from the ceiling. The garden is out of this world. Only the other day I went with my dog. Covered areas to sit with tree lights, an inside area, no need to go back inside to order as a window to the bar is right there. Heating lamps hanging and the tree lighting give a calming warm atmosphere and ambience. The bar has an extensive range of ales on the pumps and bottles of Cider including Thatcher's Katy's 7% a very refreshing drink . Lots of small bites even bread rolls with fillings. There is a restaurant to the right of the bar and during the day on weekends it's possible to get a table and choose from a great menu. This pub is secluded, if you are not a local you won't know it's there. You may have to park up to 50m from the pub depending, but I have always found a space very close to the pub. Cannot think of anything negative about this establishment. Great Old Inn.

Friendly staff here beer and grate atmosphere! This 16th century country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing it's bar. There’s always a great reason to visit The Old Inn. Throughout the week they run a variety of specials menus including Build Your Own Burger Night on Tuesday, Di’s Pies on Wednesday and Thursday night is Curry night! At the weekend you can enjoy special prices on a selection of fresh fish or on Sundays for a delicious roast dinner. They have a beautiful garden with lots of seating and in the summer lots of colourful hanging baskets. The garden also has a summer shelter just in case it rains! They have three Petanque pistes, which guests are more than welcome to use at no charge, although children must be supervised by an adult at all times. There is a meat draw every Sunday to raise money for the local community, they have recently donated to Congresbury Pre- School for repairs. They also often make hot meals and collect clothes from the locals and community to feed the homeless and walk around the street of Bristol City Centre to give them out and have a chat to them.
