The Golden Farm in Cotswold

The most UN-welcoming pub I have ever had the misfortune of visiting, I sincerely hope they close down & the sooner, the better. It's also a "Pub Stopover for Campervan/mobile homes, my advice is, DON'T BOTHER, there is a better pubs just down the road !! Bottle of wine in this pub £22, (plastic cups)same wine in a shop £6....I don't mind publicans making a profit but £16 on a cheap wine !!!!

This is my local and it’s great that there’s lovely seating outside and it’s very dog friendly which is a must in Cirencester, and me and my partner have been going for years. Unfortunately, we’ve had a horrible experience with the new owners where we had drink in our bag that we bought from a very reputable supermarket in town that the landlady discovered. She took it, which wouldn’t be an issue in itself because rules are rules when it comes to licensing, but she then drank the drink that we had bought? Pot kettle black really?

Very friendly and hospitable. We could spend the night with the camper at the back of the parking lot for a fee...

Popped in for a drink and was pleasantly surprised. Great place and a lovely beer garden. I will be going back.

Nice pub, just came here for a drink. Service was quick and it was very busy. They have a pool table and darts board in a separate room. Seems like a big local pub with a good atmosphere. They also have live bands. Overall a good experience!

Went for a birthday meal with friends. Opted for the carvery, was blown away by the generous portion received. I asked for the three meats option (chicken, beef, gammon) and received a plateful fit for the king! All absolutely delicious. The vegetables and potatoes were decent too. Staff were lovely and seemed to really care that we were having fun. The starter of battered prawns was very tasty and generous too. I left unable to think about eating for the rest of the day!

The Golden Farm is Very Good for Sunday Roast. The Three Meat Roast is Excellent. I Recommend that you try the Sunday Roast Dinner.

Had an amazing Sunday lunch yesterday - beautifully cooked, fresh ingredients - loved the broad beans!! Can honestly say best roast I have had. Definitely will be back Booking is advisable

Honest to god one of the best pubs I’ve ever been in! The staff are lovely and the atmosphere here is incredible every time I’ve been! This is one of the most hospitable venues, the food is delicious, the drinks are even better! More often than not there is fantastic entertainment end I honestly couldn’t ask for more!

How to start? What a warm and friendly welcome, I don't normally take my children to a pub but with the live music and bouncy castle in a impressive outdoor area I thought why not! COVID restrictions still very much in play from track and trace to a very easy to follow one way system, they also do fundraisers for really good causes! Highly recommended!

Been to the Golden farm too many times to count now and can’t complain about a single thing. Staff are so welcoming and kind. The atmosphere is great and so are the pints!! They always have events and live music for everyone to enjoy. Can’t recommend enough!!

I've been supporting The Vaults for many many years so understandably we want to support the Golden Farm as we come out of lockdown. We had a family celebration there and we were really well looked after by the staff. The buffet was fantastic and had more than enough on offer. Helpful and accommodating staff. Thank you!

Little gutted they was not serving food as often. And as new in area felt little out of place but put that down to covid and people not really able to mix with other people. great place to go with family as they have bouncy castle and ice cream van.

Holy Sweet Jesus ! Landlady’s son selling drugs in the Garden , beer was very poor , staff terrible ! I asked my kids if they want to go back and they said not a chance ! Security needed on a weekend….. I wouldn’t take my kids here again ever !!! Awful is the only work I can say without offending anyone !!!

So It’s been awhile since I have been here due to covid.On arrival. instantly I was impressed by the professionalism of the staff. First by signing in. To track and trace then being seated, I was also very impressed by how quickly my friend and I were served. The prices of the drinks were great value for Price. With a amazing outdoor space. And some music softly being played in the background It’s definitely Somewhere i would recommend for anyone who lives locally or if you are just visiting.Thank you to all the all the staff at the golden farm you were all such friendly and welcoming people. We will be coming back soon.

Was shouted at a few times in 45 mins by the landlady and left after one drink. I think it was a stressful day overall for the pub, I got the impression normally they wouldn't show sport so I get it. But to tell customers "you're annoying me now" and "just go over there you've annoyed me so much"... Odd. Our crime was wanting a drink, and wanting to watch the football without hearing the goals 30 seconds before they happened from the other room. Plenty of good reviews here so they must be doing something right.

A small group of us visited on a week day night for a business meeting. We drank and ate. Staff were friendly and very attentive. The food was great. No complaints at all. We will be back.

This new re-vamp has got everything going for it. They have thrown in the works and I love it !

Looks such a nice place from the front. However, we parked out the back to find rubbish and bottles everywhere. Also, there is an alley way used by the locals as both a thoroughfare and a toilet. Within just a few minutes three different guys were having a wazz in the car park. Some 3rd party 5 minute transactional private business seems to be running from a dilapidated caravan in the back garden.If this grot is in plain view, what can't we see?Some seemingly dodgy clientele. The toilets were horrific (take your wellies). Live music was advertised, but there was none.Not somewhere I would want to take my family to.The staff were very friendly and helpful, but they could not rescue this place.

Good evening,We have had a takeaway delivered......We had an array of choice of food,Hot dog, burgers, chips, Tex mex etc etcAbsolutely stunning,Very pleased,Attention to every bit of prep and serving.Cracking food at a reasonable price and delivery time.So chuffed, thank you.Ps. We did get an exchange in the meal not ordered, onion rings instead of chips, but that was a bonus as the portions were cracking and we were able to share and got to try the onion rings

Good local pub tackling covid rules very well! Despite the business, whilst abiding by the restrictions, the staff push through and be as efficient as they possibly can be! The Landlords are also strict to ensure everyone remains safe with the covid rules in place!

A great dog friendly pub on the outskirts of Cirencester town centre (approx 10 minutes walk) You have a selection of well kept lagers and ales as well as your usually spirits & mixers. They have a huge garden which has a marquee with seating and 4 enclosed booths which have in built heaters, ideal for those chillier nights. We went on a Friday which i believe is regular live music night, this was in the garden as we were still on restrictions. The staff were fantastic, they were very efficient with the table service even when the rain started at the end of the evening & on top of this extremely friendly, we felt well looked after.

Stayed 2 nights in our motorhome. Lovely friendly and helpful landlady. Good beer & reasonably priced food in a big garden. Unfortunately some of the customers were a handful in Covid times but most locals were friendly.

I’ve been going to this pub for over five years. In that time it has been run by two landlords/managers. The experience has always been relaxed and friendly as a punter. The variety of drinks on offer is large, the food is of good quality and is value for money. As a musician playing in The Vaults (the venue at the back of the pub) I have been treated with respect and the staff have gone out of their way many times, letting me leave gear there for sometimes days at a time. All in all I would recommend this place for anyone who likes a local-feeling pub without pretensions.

Waste of an early evening! My friend and I thought we would enjoy a pint or two in the garden. Got there around 7pm, sat down waited to be served (it was't too busy). Half an hour went by watching staff chat away for 10 minutes at a time with other tables. Didn't even try and make an effort to take our order. We had enough, went somewhere else and were served within two minutes! Honestly, don't bother.

PERFECT END TO A GREAT AFTERNOON. Enquired about a table through Insta, and straight away The Farm responded with open arms. Booked a couple of tables for Sun 25th April after our football game. Nothing was of any trouble to them, they tempted us with their Loaded Fries- and must say- really glad they did. Didn't have to wait at all, food arrived looked the business and happy to say, tasted insane! Draught pints went down a treat, crisp! Thanks for having us. Finished off our afternoon perfectly!!!! If you could give less than a star I would. You won't get served no organisation and the management is horrific. Months to prepare for opening up their establishment simple guidelines to follow, help small businesses this pub should have done the lockdown a favour and remained closed. Total failure, hopefully they're taking applications for new management and start from scratch with the members of staff embarrassing ordeal ⛔

pubs opening up after a third lock down- I thought I’d try the golden farm as I’d visited before and had a good experience . This time sadly differed . 25 mins to get served . Gone off beer . Fights breaking out and dodgey tasting beer then the cherry on the cake bar maid telling me to F off under her breath as she walked away . Interesting to say the least. We all have bad days but just wow.

A great traditional local pub, cracking food and the best tastiest burger i can remember having ever, a top chef and friendly staff..

Full of underage drinking , no social distancing at all, fights every weekend, unpleasant locals, poorly run. Dirty. Avoid avoid avoid. Great shame, When will this pub ever get the owners it deserves

My life is complete ! I just had a Sunday roast delivered that was perfect , just like mum used to make with crispy roast potatoes and pork , thank you Golden farm and Jay .

Lovely, friendly new owners. Very welcoming to motorhomes/campers for overnight stays. They are in the process of creating a small campsite with basic services.

Had a really great party with family and friends , however my daughter overheard the landlady tell someone that she knew where to get weed and the landlady was miserable all night , turning disco music down ,and generally looking miserable , I don't think she liked kids being at the party , certainly wouldn't make this my local !

was barely in there half an hour and I was extremely disappointed in the staff. was served quickly but the bartender was more interested in her phone. then when was about to leave another bartender came onto the bar and proceeded to pour himself a drink when u could clearly see he was about to start work

New management seem to be doing a lot to bring the customers in. Seems to be working as always busy when I've been.

I don't enjoy writing bad reviews, especially for community pubs, and places which support live music, but the quality of "Sunday Roast" my family and I had here was downright awful in truth. The meat was chicken breast straight from a packet and so dry, dry beef that appeared to be frying steak from a packet, dry pork which was pork loin from a packet, packet gravy and very little of it, barely brown 'roast' potatoes, packet Yorkshire pudding and packet veg which was both very overcooked and undercooked as well. The meal was thus devoid of flavour as it was clear none of the food was cooked from scratch given it came to the table barely 6 minutes after we got our drinks, which meant we had no real time to ease into our lunch experience either. The Doom Bar was perfectly nice, service perfectly friendly, and it's clearly a popular venue. That said, as a first time visitor who supports local pubs, I can't recommend the food at all, especially when a Toby's Carvery is better, and other pubs serve considerably better food for only fractionally more than we paid. Maybe the regulars are happy with the quality, and each to their own, but as a first time visit, based on this meal I'd only go a drink and nothing more. Disappointing

Traditional homemade Sunday lunch, sharing platters of vegetables, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding & amazing roast potatoes all on the table to share, no matter what meat you choose. You won’t leave here hungry that’s for sure. It’s nothing fancy & if I had the moan it would be the fact it’s a bit of noisy bar with drinkers.
