Great coffee especially the cappuccino

First time mini fish and chips here ,not very good fish was very greasy and chips not quite cooked not cheap either better elsewhere in Torquay

We get our fish and chips here when we visit Devon (the small battered sausage is perfect for a child sized meal). The cod is lovely, fresh, decent size with a crisp batter.

Lovely fish have tryed a few others but always come back to the sea bank! Friendly staff and good price

Great mini fish and chips. Stopping at Premier Inn where the Beefeater is closed at the moment (lockdown) and looking for a snack evening meal for last night. Tried this chippy close to hotel and very pleased we did. Portion sizes were huge, fish tasty with crispy batter and fresh chips. Friendly and helpful service . Great meals thanks

Prefect location and great chips in a tourist area. Usually, when you have chips in a popular location they are bland. These were perfect and not greasy. Seen a couple of reviews on pricing but don't forget it's seafront location will effect the overheads. Food very much worth it!

Had a lovely meal, fish and chips cooked to order. Owners really nice just took it over the plans to make it look better sound good so we will be back after the season. We'll worth the visit.

From the second we approached the cafe bar, we received excellent service. The doors were faulty- no problem they opened the doors for us and were very apologetic!We were promptly served after choosing from the decent menu at reasonable prices! We both selected haddock and chips with mushy peas. FAB portion sizes and the food itself was delicious.Service from a man who was clearly passionate and proud so possibly the owner, was brilliant! We’ll definitely be back!!

1st time coming here and it was great the owner was very welcoming and friendly the restaurant was clean and tidy and the food was spot on. Highly recommend and will definitely be back when I’m back down this way.

This used to be my familys favourite place to eat. Always a warm welcome and great fish and chips and a reasonable price. We saw it was open today (which is very unusual as the previous owners went to Thailand every winter)Straight away you could tell something had changed. Although who I assume to be the new owner was friendly, the prices now actually shocked us. One portion of fish and chips' 2 childrens meals and 2 fruit shoots and a pot of tea £28! It was nice but we realised as well as the prices rises(Chocolate Milkshake £5) I had actually paid £3 alone forthe privilege of eating in. A shame really.

On our last day on holiday in Devon we wanted a good fish and chips lunch. Looked at several restaurants before deciding on the Sea Bank. It was a gorgeous day and many people were eating outside on the terrace, but we opted for inside. The cafe was spotlessly clean, bright and inviting. Service was friendly and very efficient. The fish and chips were fantastic. Large piece of fish , perfectly cooked, in lovely light crispy batter, a good portion of proper chips - not soggy, not hard, not dry inside but just exactly right. The view across Torbay wasn't bad, either. If we had been staying longer we would most definitely have gone back.

Spent a week in Torquay and walked past this place on a number of occasions. Finally gave it a try on our last night and we’re glad we did. Good service and tasty food. Glad we booked in advance as it was incredibly busy. Recommended.

We had fantastic fish n chips here, the scampi was also amazing and it was finished off with a side salad which topped it off beautifully. Eat in or out, we chose to eat in. Well worth a visit.

Tried the fish and chip shop due to the reviews but found it to be pretty average at best considering the cost. My daughter had nuggets which were bland and i had a jumbo sausage which was part undercooked. The only upside was my wife said the batter on the fish was nice and crispy. Would we go to this chip shop again. NO

sausage terrible over charged by £5 when we worked it out quite expensive 2 x cod and chips 2 x gravy 2 x peas 1 x kids sausage and chips 1 x sausage 5 x drinks £39.50

This is a cheap and cheerful chippy. £17 in total for Cod and chip, cod goujons with salad, and two soft drinks. Fish was cooked well and the goujons were lovely

Lovely fish and chips in a lovely resteraunt area, we would have loved to have eaten them outside but the weather was wet and a little windy.

Without doubt in the top 3 fish and chip shops in the country. Friendly, fast, clean and well priced. A must place to visit for anybody. Well done all at the sea bank cafe fantastic.

We were greeted straight away by a very lovely lady. She took our order and then we only waited around 5-10 minutes. Really good price, nice and easy and nice food

Went a group of four of us .sadly all a little disappointed ,fish certainly didn't look like any of the photos on ta. Thin batter thin fish very greasy chips however very good .it was very busy amd I put it down to maybe we were just unlucky as seems very popular .staff were very nice and friendly so I wish I could write a more positive review .

A small fish and chip shop with nice views- the chips were nice but the cod was very greasy- very small table and uncomfortable chairs but ok for a quick bite

Pop in for quick serving of chips on Sunday whilst on beach. Only thing should have a different way for staff to serve sit down customer than takeaway as it always full

My wife and I ordered cod & chips and found the fish was beautifully cooked in a light batter and the chips as they should be for chippy chips!

Fabulous fish and chips and other great items on the menu. Very friendly staff and great service. Great views over the harbour ideal place to eat and take in the views and sunshine.

Very nice Cod sold here with light batter , pity about the chips as in the menu it said 'freshly cut chips' and I thought they were very poorly cooked. The fish was let down by the chips.

Had Haddock and chips to take away, not massive portions of fish or chips for the price, fish was quite greasy and chips were a bit hard other than that they weren't terrible but we have had better (still ate them all though ;-) )

Food here is just ok. The mushy peas were a let down, I'm pretty sure they are tinned, maybe it's a southern thing. There are definitely better chippys in town.

Well i got to say this is the best cod and chips ive had in a while,and ive had a lot this year.

Sitting here now , just finished fish and chip with great light batter washed down with some lovely cider on a great summer evening , this is what the British seaside town is all about. Excellent food great service at a reasonable price with the location to die for .

Popped in here this week. Only real comment was the chips are absolutely the best I have had in ages! Clean fast service. (It was packed when we visited) Fish was 10/10.

I stopped by here on Sunday afternoon with my partner and our 7 month old daughter. We had fish and chips and sat outside on the patio area. I must say that they were the best fish and chips I have had in a long long time and thought they trumped Harry Ramsdens! Rated 5/5 by food standards agency - it was very clean, the food was delicious, the staff were friendly and being on the sea front, had a lovely view. If we ever come back to Torquay, I will definitely visit again :)

Following the airshow we had cod and chips twice, lovely crispy batter with flaky cod inside...... Delicious

The staff are so friendly too served quickly and lots of choice, the lady who served us was really friendly she noticed are geordie accent straight away turned out shes originally from Whitley Bay :) nice atmosphere and a great spot to eat will definitely return when we go back!

Ate here one night and had an excellent piece of haddock and chips with mushy peas the food was good except for the chips which where end pieces with no body to them, value was good

We visited on a Monday evening. We had a variety of foods, also cater for Gluten free with - Chips, Chicken and Jacket potatoes.

Herrlich gelegen. Schnelle, freundliche Bedienung. Gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Top Essen, saubere Tische, eher klein, aber heimelig. Und es hat super geschmeckt zu einem super Preis.

Used the Seabank on 31st August / 1st September. First meal haddock -Chips- Mushy peas. On the table within 5 minutes Hot Crispy Haddock Batter, Fish cooked to perfection £8.60. Second visit Half pound Beef burger Chips, mushy peas. Once again on the table quickly, Hot well cooked and very tasty £7.60? not quite sure 60 or 80 but well worth it. Would definitely recommend a visit.

We stopped off here to get fish, sausages and chips for all the family. It was all very tasty and all was eaten.

Food presented in take away boxes as they'd run out of plates. No knives just wooden forks that tasted appalling. Coffee wasn't good-just black hot water with no flavour. Recommendation-use the great British chippy by the harbour

Poor customer service, the food was not cooked well and the service was unprofessional. We asked for a high chair which was filthy and the staff didn't even know how to use it! The food was basic and the fish left us feeling sick.

We wanted fish and chips and we were not disappointed it was the lightest crispiest batter out the cod which was flaky and moist.

This restaurant is right at one end of the Torquay resort and has a seating outside with a view to the sea. A nice place with parasales to keep the sun off, and great fish and chips. Phil&Sand; x

Fish and chips was incredible. I would suggest that decrease the amount of chips for the kids meal.

First evening after long so wanted something quick and tasty in a drizzly evening. We had Scampi & Chips and Haddock & Chips and both were served quickly and piping hot, portion are a good size and too big. Added bonus was they serve bottle beer and along with a coke it came to £19, reasonable considering the seafront/near harbour location

We shared fish and chips to takeaway. The fish was cooked to perfection and the chips were very good. We did have to wait a while, quite unsurprisingly really considering how good the food was. Would go again, but eat in.

this was our first time visit to torquay and we was looking for some where to eat and we came across the place and we was not disapointed the for was good and also the staff and we did not have to wait for our order to arrive so we can highly recommend this place to eat when visiting torquay

My partner and I visited here on a whim on our first night in Torquay and wanted to taste the local fish.

Husband and I came here for fish and chips whilst on holiday and the fish was swimming in grease so it has just gone mushy and disgusting. Also we sat outside and for some reason the table and everything on it (condiments) was sticky. The chips were ok hence 2 stars

Had fish and chips, and veggie spring rolls. Very nice. Reasonable prices. Very friendly service - I think it is family-run and has been for quite a few years. We previously ate here some years ago.

Had fish and chip, the fish was lovely, batter was so light. Chips on the other hand, they were quite unpleasant and I’d say from the left over chips on most plates, we were not the only one who thought this. I’d guess old oil by all the black bits over the chips.

The best fish and chips I have ever had with such a lovely view to accompany the meal. It was so good we came back the next day. The staff are so naturally friendly and welcoming. The prices are decent for the quality of the food you get. Would 100% recommend to anyone in the area :)

Stopped here after walking along the harbourside. It is in a very good location and you can cross the road and eat your food whilst sitting on one of the many benches looking out to sea. The food here is well cooked, tasty and the staff are very pleasant.

We didn’t fancy the food in the hotel this evening so decided a little walk to see where it took us. Came across the Sea Bank Cafe, food was amazing, cup of tea really good and excellent service, 10/10 on all counts

We stayed in the nearby premier inn the fish and chips were delicious the batter was very light and the fish had been skinned actually ate there twice staff seemed friendly enough , we enjoyed it reasonable price would recommend you give it a go

Great fish and chip shop down there on the English riviera... clean - great smell of frying fish and pretty well all the potential for an excellent experience.

We enjoyed our food and the staff were lovely. However, later in the evening my husband felt queasy and later on I woke up and was sick several times. Luckily we both felt better the following day but this could easily have ruined our holiday. Needless to say we won’t be returning-judging by some of the other reviews we aren’t the first to have experienced unpleasant side effects after eating at the Seabank.

After sampling a few local fish and chips joints including the wonderful Rockfish, we decided to try this one evening for a takeaway.

So we drove from the Cotswolds to Torquay to look at a house and decided to take a neighbour and our dogs for a full day. It was a hot, close day so seating outside was a must. walking past the usual panini, pizza places we saw this place. Clean, nothing special from the outside then we saw the food. Oh yes, beautiful fish and chips. Thick white cod with almost a tempura batter, so light. The chips were perfect. You know when food tastes so good that you slow down to make it last......this was it.

This family run cafe is fab and the family are lovely. Had fish and chips, the fish was fresh and the batter was the best we've had and because of that we went back again. Well worth a visit, you would be daft not to.

Absolutely first class crispy hot chips and sundaes to die for at a very reasonable price to eat in as opposed to take away. And licenced to serve alcohol. Very friendly owners would definitely recommend..

We visited torquay for bank holiday Sunday to spend the day also to eat specifically at this venue . Food superb , lovely family run eaterie , will be taking time out to travel here again and again.

The staff was really friendly. We got big portions. The food was hot, fresh and really delicious. The restaurant offers a big selection of sausages, chips, fish, sandwiches, and so on. It is located right on the promenade. We will visit again.

Great quality fish n chips served quickly. Cod was fresh and genuine cod. Had wanted a steak and kidney pie so was dissapointed at 7pm they didnt have any left but settled on a mined beef and onion pie instead which was also good. Would definatly return.
