Harvester Beacon Quay in Torbay

We have just finished our meal at the Harvester on Beacon Quay. Super food at a great price but the standout mention has to be awarded to our waitress - Carol! She was amazing. Very knowledgeable and helpful with making decisions. If only all front of house staff were this good!

Visited restaurant this evening, shown to our table and greeted by our waitress Carol who took our drinks order whilst we chose our meal options from the menu, Carol explained the restaurant was on a new menu and highlighted the new choices on offer. Our food came out shortly after the order was taken and was excellent, hot, well presented and tasty. We have to compliment Carol on the level of service she gave not only to us but all the other diners in her station, very attentive, and interacted with all diners. Very very slow service. I have actively avoided Harvesters for years and this recent visit cemented my opinion that they are the worst chain in England and the price is noe ridiculous, you could almost be forgiving before because it was cheap(ish) but not a chance now. Beers all tasted off, bartender couldnt even tell me when the lines where last cleaned, not a good sign at all. Food came out. Half my chips where dark brown the other very pale, so theyve mixed uo old and new and god knows how many times they had been re-dunked. Clearly not a care in the world if you cant even get chips right. Never again.

Food took about 40 minutes to arrive and was warm rather than hot. Tasted ok and service ok.

Lovely cooked food, had the halloumi skewers made by your chef ally which was phenomenal! One thing that would of made my meal better is if the halloumi was fryed not grilled! Rich our waiter has been lovely and made us feel very comfortable and made sure we had everything we needed:)

Myself and my husband came in last Thursday whilst on a stay cation for his birthday. Carol was our server and she was lovely and friendly. She helped us download the app to take advantage of the offers. Will definitely return when we are back in Torquay.

Fantastic service atmosphere and food. The Rotisserie chicken was sublime and the service given by Stefan was second to none. Bubbly helpful and great information as we are first time visitors to Torquay . Would highly recommend

Carol our assistant was very attentive and efficient. Food was lovely and pretty hot, arrived quickly. Decent menu with plenty of choice for both food and drinks. Beautiful location and plenty of space inside, nicely decorated too. Would definitely recommend!

Visited the other day, was quite disappointed, I had to find the waitress to order our food, the salad bar was mainly empty, my chicken burger was awful, it was burnt, hard and I couldn't eat it, the chips were old and hollow, we are regular customers but not anymore unfortunately.

We have been here two days in a row and both times we were served by amazing staff with excellent customer service. Food was hot and delicious.

Excellent meals. Very hot. Speedy service. Love the salads! My partners steak was spot on. Very tender. We were served by Jordan. Very kind and helpful.

Another fantastic meal at Harvester! 5 of us came for lunch last Wednesday to celebrate my brother's 39th birthday, my brother has special needs with low functioning autism and severe learning disabilities, our server was Steff and he couldn't of been more friendly, accommodating and interactive with him, he's made a new best friend for life! The whole team made the occasion very special for us all. The food was prompt,delicious and good value, we all left very happy with full belly's and a lovely memory was made so thankyou guys, keep up the good work :)

Served by a excellent lady named Jo she knew her stuff was very pleasant and made sure we got the best deal a credit to the harvester. Food was good, service was good atmosphere was good.

Jo the waitress was amazing and attended everything we asked for and did so with a great smile. However the women who met us at the door when waiting to be seated was very aggressive and not very welcoming. Other than that the food was nice and at a good price.

Great service lovely freshly cooked meal

Staff were struggling to keep salad bar restocked. Moaned when I asked for bread rolls.long wait for food and chicken was over cooked. No coleslaw with meal. Person serving was negative about our dog. Requested that we moved him out of the way as she was afraid of dogs. Nobody checked that food was ok.

Today on a busy Saturday lunch time we were served by Jo who was wonderfully helpful in her menu knowledge and the deals on the app and getting us the best deals and service and was patient with me two sen children who took a little while to pick and when asked went quiet, brilliant service would 100% come back.

The food was lovely and did not take long to arrive. Our server Jo was really friendly and helpful. I will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely view of the Marina, lovely food and very friendly staff, Jo made us feel very welcome.

Overall nice experience, the beef burger wasn’t the most tastiest, however it’s great value for money. The rest of the food was good. Jo served us who gave us a comforting & pleasant experience, even though she was very busy!

Went in for an early dinner with a few mates. The vibe of the restaurant was nice and relaxing which was only made better by the fantastic service we received from our waitress Carol. She was roughly 5’9 with visible tattoos. Nothing was too much hassle and she made me feel assured that my allergy was taken seriously. I would highly recommend this venue for the food and amazing service.

Service was amazing from as soon as we came through the door right down to as we were leaving. A special mention to Carol who could not have been nicer thank you.

Great choice of food, free unlimited salad is such a big plus and acts as a big incentive for me to come here. Staff are helpful and courteous. Can see that it is a great place for famirs with kids

My wife and I turned up without a reservation on a busy Monday lunchtime, and the staff did all they could to fit us in. Our server, Jo, was really friendly and attentive. The food was great, as was the choice of drinks. Would definitely go back.

We came for an early lunch an really enjoyed everything. There were so many interesting options in the menu. When our food came out it was delicious. So good in fact I forgot to take any pictures. Our server Jordan Cleverly was friendly and attentive. A great experience all round

Delicious food and amazing service at the Harvester Torquay. Jo and the rest of the staff were extremely attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The menu had good choices and the portion sizes where very good.Will definitely go back and do not hesitate to recommend.

An absolutely divine dining experience at The Harvester Torquay. Great food and great service by the most lovely smiling waitress Kasia. I'm definitely going to recommend to friends and family.

Waited nearly 45 minutes, and when the food came, it was nearly all cold. Some food was undercooked, some was overcooked , and dessert was not much better with some elements missing. But the waitress was helpful and got a reduced bill.

Our waitress Jo was super busy she made a.ooint of advising us she was very busy and be with as soon as possible which I very much value. We waited approx 15mins. This was no problem for us, we had no plans just came.out rather than cook. Jo was attentive and polite when we did interact. Her service was excellent. Salad bar was spotless. The bread rolls were a tad stale but again, no issue. We had half roast chicken meal each which was very nice, simple ingredients. Price was cheap. Jo reminded us to check the app for any discounts too. So helpful. My daughter though the managers style was super fun and quirky, beautiful colourful hair and amazing tattoos, I had to agree. My daughter and I had a lovely meal. The staff are fabulous. Great local harvester. Highly recommend.

Had a lovely meal out there with a friend the other day. We were served by Jamie who was very polite and friendly, he went out of his way to help us get the best offer on our Harvester App. Looking forward to going again.

I ordered the combo when it came it was the wrong order but within minutes after saying the correct meal came only to find the ribs cold I asked the waitress about it and she took it and it came back hotter the jacket was very small and dry not like the meal we had in there a few days earlier which was perfect the waitress asked was everything OK and we said no my wifes meal was lovely but mine was not she spoke to manager who approached us and we were told that as I had eaten some of my meal that it didn't seem that it was unedible she said that I had been asked was all OK and that I'd said yes but I had only said yes to the ribs that had been reheated we were given a discount of £4.99 not sure how that was worked out and the waitress advised us to download the app to receive a 25% Discount very poor but waitress very good

Jo served us and recommended the app. We all had Mixed Grills, super stuffed by the end. It was a big portion :)

Literally the worst dining experience I've had in years. Terrible food, terrible service Did as they said in the reply, phoned the restaurant and they did absolutely nothing about the horrific experience and terrible food. Avoid. Don't bother. Don't waste your money, and note the replies are fake!

They had been having a very difficult shift with one server and one chef down but our server Rich couldn’t have done better. He was friendly, attentive and polite. Well done to Rich!

My food was over cooked my partner's was the same and dry, the toilets was disgusting not a happy customer and the salad bar was awful.

Visited for breakfast with friends and can't rate this place highly enough! Firstly, the staff were all friendly and helpful, special mention to Jordan. He provided an exceptional customer experience and Harvester are lucky to have you working there. The food was excellent, generous portions and very reasonably priced. I'd also like to say how nice it was to find a place that is dog friendly, especially this time of year when it's freezing outside. It was fantastic to be able to take our dogs inside the warm while we had our breakfast. Thank you for making that possible. We will definitely return, the lunchtime menu deals looks great. We will try that next time!

The food is very nice, steaks are definitely worth their money. But our biggest credit goes to Michael who has been our waiter several times and is an absolute credit to this venue. Always happy, polite, helpful and a real pleasure to have look after you

Pleasant staff. Had to send the Ribs back though as they had pieces of thin plastic on them. Was refunded. Chap serving at Bar called everyone "Mate". Would rather have been addressed as Sir. Not being pretentious but think "Mate" is not particularly professional. Screaming kids and no challenge from staff asking parents to be "parents".
