What a poor experience!!! We booked a table a day prior to our visit and on arrival there was no recollection of this but thankfully they said they could seat us anyway... Great!! Off to the bar we go to order where we queued for over 15 minutes as they only take food orders on one til (which I find strange) and have one person pouring drinks... we get to the bar to then be told there's an hour wait on food!!! The pub looked fairly empty and at most they had 5 tickers ahead of ours... I'm a chef myself and think that an hours wait for a few tickets is shocking...

I visited here twice with my mum since she only lives five minutes away. The Admiral Hardy has its ups and downs over the years but I’d say it’s now a really good place to go for food and to have a drink. From other comments it seems Michael is getting a bit of a fan base. He’s such a good chap and service focused. And the food? I’m vegan so I tried both mains when I visited. The parsnip rosti was lovely. The curry was quite good but needed a bit more spice. My mum had the steak and she thoroughly enjoyed it. I think it will be a regular place for my mum. What was nice is that Michael recognised her when she called in with a friend.

Ordered a Pint and paid contactless via my phone. Everything went through and then a minute later the member of staff returned saying the payment hadn’t gone through. I showed the member of staff the notifications on my phone saying payment had been taken. The member of staff spoke to his manager and then returned to me saying that I had to pay again, of which I kindly declined. After another discussions with his manager he reiterated that I must pay again, this time I showed him my online bank account showing the money had been withdrawn. He was having none of it but once again I declined to pay again. After the 3rd trip to his manager, the member of staff returned insisting that I hadn’t paid and that if I wanted anything else I would have to pay cash. Needless to say I didn’t order anything else and left.I asked the member of staff to send the manger over so I could show them my bank account but was having none of it. Awful customer service and made to feel like I was in the wrong. The pictures I’ve added clearly show I was not!

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch at the Admiral Hardy. Turned up on spec and got a table no problem. Lovely friendly staff and top notch covid security. Had an excellent roast dinner including NINE roast potatoes - they were piled so high you could hardly see the meat underneath. Price? Two dinners and a bottle of red wine - £17.25!!!!! I still think I was undercharged. Oh and did I mention the friendly locals and sky sports on telly and super-quick service? Thanks guys for a great afternoon.

Whilst waiting the server at the bar was going around asking he who were already there if they wanted more drinks some still had drinks. Ignoring us. He then started collecting glasses whilst we were still waiting after 10 min we decided perhaps we should go. On way out another member of staff was walking around spraying empty tables. We asked why no one was coming over to serve her response was don't know I've just started then carried on wiping empty tables. (She was there wiping tables when we arrived). We opted to leave. It advertised eat out to help out promotion,so we decided to give it a try. Can only comment on our experience. COVID measures adopted as far as we could see. Food and drink ordered at the bar and bought to our table served by pleasant staff. Enjoyable meal and the price even more enjoyable. Would not have a problem returning next Weymouth visit.

Whilst there are covid measures in place, people were situated close by. Where i was personally sat, i was 2 foot away from a man. I was sat with my family and then a further family came in who was seated next to us making us very close to them. Other tables were available. To be fair we did see tables being cleaned frequently. What was exceptionally poor was at the bottom of my daughters vegan burger, there was cheese. She had expressly told them she did not want cheese as she was vegan. We did bring it to their attention and they were apologetic, but nevertheless cheese should not be on the plate. All in all not a fab experience.

I visited here this past Wednesday 26th with my partner and her parents, during our week away in Weymouth. We saw the offer of curry & a drink for £5.75, and thought what's not to like?! We sat outside in the beautiful sunshine, as we had our two dogs with us, and upon ordering our curries (7:30pm - so not late) at the bar, we learned that they had run out of naan breads, so we would have to have garlic breads instead. Okay, not the end of the world obviously, although, the car park wasn't particularly busy, neither were either the inside or outside seating areas... The lady behind the bar who served us was quite friendly and apologetic, although, a little concerning that she couldn't remember which two beers were shandies & which two were full pints. We just made a laugh about it.

I have been to this pub before and it's a really nice looking place. Unfortunately on my last visit, Saturday 30th December 2017, I was met by a rather unhappy barman. I know no-one wants to be at work but in the pub business who have to at least hide this fact. While I was ordering food I made a mistake as to what came with the meal and what was an extra so the barman told me to read the menu more carefully, charming ! When the food arrived the barman told us to get our own cutlery I reminded him the menu says, I quote " a member of the team will bring you cutlery and sauces". In answer to this the barman said we don't do this anymore and I'm too busy. The food was ok but the services terrible.

No podía esperar a salir.

Pulled up to a pretty empty car park, goes in whilst the hubby fetch something from the car.I walks in with kids in tow. Felt like something from a cowboy film.... every one their turns around to look at me and the children I had with me... including the barman. I was greeted with the stench of stale smoke, of which amazed me in 2017, as I'm sure it's been 10yrs since they banned that bad habit in all pubs. The place was dark & dingy... looked dismal!!Mmmmm... I rushed bk outside to tell hubby if he was sure... he was hungry and ushered me bk in. Unsure if I really wanted to consume anything in this place, we went for it! Food came and again, hubby was happy... but he'd be happy with slop! Me and the kids however have tastebuds and would rather not eat what they had served up but 'tried' to make the best of it. The kids dinner's were put in the table with on having chips instead of the garlic bread option my son had opted for. The barman knew and said he'd see to it and bring over the garlic bread. Whilst cutting his food, he again reappears requesting his plate. We told him n, he's eating now. Just bring the garlic bread here. Hew wanted to scrape off the chips and add garlic bread instead... yep really!!!!! Eventually the garlic bread turned up!I start to eat my lasagna...Great, a microwavable cheap meal! - Yum! It was soggy pasta & as cheap as could be! Was awful! Yuk.... oh and to accompany it was a tiny portion of naked salad & stale garlic bread. The kids meals 'pizza, chips & beans' The children moaned the chips were not nice, not to mention the cold beans, & as for the kids pizza, well that looked like it stepped outta the 80's. One of those cheap packs of like 10 frozen pizzas your mum bought in the 80's/early 90's, in bulk... remember them.... yer those ultra cheap manly pizza's that barely contained cheese on top, the yucky ones before Chicago town micro pizzas came about. Those! • Far from worth the hassle!!!!!• Far from tasty! • Far from a welcoming place! • Not a nice place! • Stay clear!!!!!!!• cheap food, but will be served the cheapest & most gruesome food ever!• Bad service!!

WHAT you see is what you get at the Admiral Hardy. This includes a bar, a family room, outside seating, a pool table, a darts board, real ales and good, solid simple food.We were up for all that when we paid a recent lunchtime visit which included everything from beer and wine to food.We sat outside because the day threatened that English rarity of sunshine and, almost before we knew it, we had a glass of wine in ours hands and food being brought to our table. My advice is that this is a good pub for this area when you have a family because not only is there a family room where youngsters can let off steam without disturbing other patrons but there are also lower and upper outside seating areas. These enable a family with young children to recharge batteries without feeling they are somehow at odds with their surroundings. Yes, a rainy day can change this, but that's where the family room comes into its own.In the main bar area there are a variety of televisions enabling drinkers to keep up to date with the sport of their chase while they can also play pool or darts. The pub also has its own car park, a menu which offers a good range of solid and simple food and friendly staff who are happy to help. A true local pub. What more do you want?

Went on a Saturday evening for food, it was quite popular for some local drinkers but no difficulty getting a table, always a couple spare while we were there.Food was a good price and quality. Had to wait a while after our main for our ordered side which dampened my opinion.Food served until 20:30.Children allowed before 20:30.Very dog friendly.

I wouldn't say this was the most outstanding pub I've ever been to but for a local pub it works very well . The food although very basic pub grub was nice and was hot , partner enjoyed his meal only down side gravy was very watery needs thickening up. There was a dart board and billiard table to play music not blaring out. The toilets very clean and the barman very nice welcoming and helpfulCan recommend a visit but don't expect gourmet food

A big group of us ate here, children's and adults. We hadn't booked but there was space for all of us. The prices were great value. The children's meals were £3 or under, and most of the adults meals were around £5. We didn't have to wait long for the food and it was nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and cleared the tables promptly.

Enjoyed the first meal so much visited twice more in same week. On holiday in Weymouth - nearby caravan site - food at Admiral Hardy about 1/4 mile away MUCH better than that prrovided on site and better value. Had tasty curries, excellent mixed grills, huge ploughmans, very good steaks. Much more to choose from. Excellent value on "specials" nights -- big portions with variety of drinks included. All freshly prepared and good friendly service from staff. Nice to see a "Pub" with darts , pool, skittles doing well

I must admit I didnt really fancy going to this pub to eat as it didn't look great from the outside but my husband said to give it a go so we did. The decor was ok probably could do with a freshen up though, the staff were friendly and the food was so cheap that I wasnt expecting much... but I was surprised! It was really nice and so was my husbands. They also let us take the dogs in. We would definately return!!

We booked here as it was the nearest pub to the holiday camp we were staying in and wanted a change from pizza or fish and chips. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was loads of choice on the menu and seven of us eating. All the meals came out at the same time. The food was very good and we had no complaints plus it was alot cheaper than the holiday camp.If your a family wanting good food at good prices I would highly recommend this pub.

Came here only because we needed to look up a map on WIFI...that's the only good thing about it. Ordered a salad & garlic bread. No dressing on a teeny salad. Waitress said only the large salad has dressing! I asked her if I was supposed to eat naked lettuce! She sent some other person to tell me that he didn't have any dressing! I asked for oil & vinegar thinking I could just put it on salad myself. No, they don't have oil or vinegar. So I told him I couldn't eat it, could I?? He just walked off as we'd paid for it. Husband had a chicken & bacon baguette, bacon was unchewable and he took it out of the sandwich so he could eat. The tables were dirty as was the floor. A completely disgusting experience!

Lovely hotel and friendly helpful staff. Pricey at £350 B&B with very average rooms but good breakfast, although service very slow. Sadly not accessible for those with mobility disorders as no lift, steep stairs and few accessible bathrooms However, marvellous for lunch or dinner on a day out

We had a great dinner at the Arts Club. The food was wonderful, the staff were excellent and, being a lovely summer evening, we dined outside in the pretty and surprisingly quiet courtyard.

We were camping just down the road this past weekend and decided to have a browse - I'm glad we did as there was much more to this farm shop than I was expecting. Lots of different produce and gifts type things all quite nicely set out. Some things were sensibly priced considering you do expect to pay a slight premium at a farm shop (postcards 50p, fresh scones £1, clotted cream £1.99), but some of the prices were a little shocking - there were loaves of fresh bread at £4.50 and I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price of ice cream being served at the side of the car park! Overall a worthwhile trip - the scones were delicious, good selection of ciders and got some lovely warm slipper socks. I'd recommend popping in if you're passing (the views are fantastic too) just don't expect any bargains.

Ate here Friday evening three of us had wood fired pizzas which were delicious, pleasant staff as always. On the Saturday two of us visited for lunch. We had crab sandwiches with a mixed leaf salad, they were tasty enough but £11 seems too much...

We wanted something less corporate for lunch and was pleased to find this cafe as it looked a little more old school and independent. The build your own breakfast offered great choice and when I said I fancied crumpets with marmite rather then the offered jam, was told this was fine. The crumpets came with a generous serving of marmite in a little bowl. This was a great find and having never been a fan of Dorchester improved my opinions if the town (finding the park also helped improve my opinion of the town) .
