Ordered chicken pie with mash and peas. The tiny portion of mash looked like it had been sat in a fridge for a week and quickly microwaved. Worse than that though the pie was like soggy cardboard. Not just the pastry, but the grey sludge that resided inside too. Still, I enjoyed the peas !!! Which was good because I left hungry as I could not eat the rest. Dire place I'm afraid. Have emailed when they replied but not heard anything sadly.

Some big improvements here in the last year or so. Food has been pretty consistently good here lately. Years ago I chocked on a fatty steak here and not tried the steak yet but for a Marstons the carvery is good as is the food. Friendly staff and decent outdoor space

Had the roast today much better than i thought it would be. Would definitely recommend it.

Dog friendly pub. Quick service. Nice outdoor seating area and play park area. We ordered a lot of starters as a main, which all came out together hot. Attentive staff. It was a pleasure.

Booked a table for 14 for my husband’s birthday. All had a great time, food - good pub grub, drinks good. Staff always very friendly & helpful. Quick service considering it was a Saturday lunchtime. Very happy.

Only issue we had was app to order wouldn’t work which was annoying because it took us a while to add everything being 7 people and we missed out on the 10% for drinks. However, the service was fantastic! We felt so welcome and the people working where so friendly, polite and accommodating. The food was also outstanding! Every last crumb of food was just perfect! All In all we was extremely happy and will definitely be going again! Great job

A warm welcome, staff friendly, pleasant surroundings and good food.

Very polite staff. I pre booked a table and we were quickly shown where we could sit. The atmosphere was freindly and the staff all had smiles. (Which was nice as it doesn't always happen in a pub) We ordered our food and it was explained what optional extras we could add. The food arrived very quickly and was hot. Very freindly guy came to the table. I asked for some mustard and he immediately went and got some. My partner said that her vegetarian burger was one of the best that she had eaten. Packed full of flavour. My mum had curry and she said it was beautiful. A lovely meal to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday. Thank you.

Excellent team who managed really well despite so many walk-ins. Nothing too much trouble and helpful throughout. Food was very good and all at a reasonable price. Location brilliant even in April and Summer months will be even better.

Had a wonderful lunch at The Trumpet Major today my ultimate veggie burger was fantastic. Staff were happy to see us and very accommodating.

Hello, my daughter having recently move into the neighbourhood close by, this is now our favourite place to eat. I myself am from Swanage. But I would happily drive over for a meal. Which obviously I do. 🙂 Yesterday I brought my other daughter over to eat with us, as she and her family like to eat out with her family. She was not disappointed and was very impressed. Saying she would definitely go back. My other daughter, yes I have three, 😆, also really enjoyed it. She has autism and learning disabilities and can be wary of certain places. She has asked to go back. The last three times we have used your vouchers, which is why it is becoming a but of a regular visit. But saying that, we find your prices very reasonable. The food is top notch, and we are always very pleased and satisfied with every meal. Every member of staff that we have come into contact with have been friendly and lovely, and you never feel like anything is too much trouble. Even though it was a busy lunchtime, our meals arrived at the table quickly and hot. We certainly couldn't fault the cleanliness of the establishment either. It is top marks from all of us. Had a great meal here last night and enjoyed the atmosphere along with wonderful service which is hard to find nowadays. Would recommend if passing or in the local area. Keep up the fantastic work 😃

Kids love it here: Play area. Colouring on the menu, good choice of options for them. Adult menu has good choices although I wish you could get the ribs as a separate meal not an add on. We had burgers in the burger deal - great value. Mine was lovely but my husband did find his slightly overcooked. Service was good A bit slow on puddings but the restaurant was busier by then so understandable

A very nice pub. Seems to have improved since we last visited a couple of years ago. It was quite busy, especially for a Tuesday, but everywhere was clean, staff were efficient, friendly and professional. Food was speedily delivered and perfectly cooked. Will definitely visit again.

Had a table booked for 3 pm by the time we had arrived we were told that the only meat they had left at the carvery was turkey and gammon. None of us in our party like turkey. I had booked it specifically to have a carvery. Needless to say very disappointed so we left.

We had a lovely welcome from the bar staff, easy to order and clean environment. Food arrived quickly and was hot and delicious. Good value and great portions. All staff were friendly and worked very hard, tables were cleaned quickly. We were very impressed with our visit, and will return.

Lovely setting, nice friendly atmosphere, staff were friendly, and food was good.

Wasn’t that great, kids meal came out 10 mins after rest of food, so my toddler was crying because she was hungry and we had to give her most of our meals. Baguette was burnt and filling cold. Plus it’s £4.10 for a ping of orange juice which they pour from a £1 carton

Very good food and excellent service from all the young girls attending to our requirements. Very good selections on the menu and all at competitive prices, also benefiting from the 30% off mains deal.

Had lunch, Beef chilli & rice ,nice flavours, with nachos and jalapeños.

Foods gone downhill avoid. Waited nearly 2 hours for a for a lunchtime meal.wasn't told when ordering how long we would wait. Never again

Waited nearly 2 hrs for food today we were just about to ask for refund when food came out mega mix grill nearly £25 came with about 6 chips disappointed 😞

Very overpriced, disappointing portion size for starters. 4 mozzarella and cheese bits as a starter, soup less than half a bowl, food not overly hot as starters, servers said wrong names for food brought out or didn’t say anything at all and just stood there holding plates. The ladies toilets were disgusting, 3 toilets, 1 out of order and 1 blocked so left just 1 for use.

The carvery was shocking . The meat was all the end bits , scrappings , I asked if I could have some of the beef that was alittle more pink , the chef replied well it need to use these bits first ( the burnt ends) my son had the turkey which wasn’t even sliced just the scraps from the hot plate . I think two portions of Brussels as a veg choice is shocking . The only decent part was the Yorkshire and roasties . Definitely wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t go back again either

We had booked a table and requested to be sat near the outdoor area due to having a child with additional needs, we got seated at where we requested. Good menu with lots to choose from, easy to order. We all had something different and all meals were lovely especially the carvery, it was delicious. All meals were cooked well and any request we had were made. Puddings were lovely and we all left very full and happy.

Couldn’t fault anything. Service and food was good. Used the online ordering thing and even an old dinosaur like me found it easy.

The trumpet major so needed the revamp it has been given. The pub looks fresh and clean. The toilets are a massive improvement on our previous visit. The staff have all been lovely, very pleasant and on the ball.(especially the young lad) The food arrived hot and on hot plates which is a major positive. The mains and sides have been very enjoyable. Desserts are a must.

Attentive staff and delicious food. We went for a family bday meal and so glad we chose here. Food was lush, came out in good time and really nice and hot. Great value. Looks like a decent pub garden which we'll be back to try in the summer

We hadn’t book as travelling through the town. Used to go here a lot when younger. Our waitress was called Rhiannon whom was so very helpful and no questions regarding the meal was a problem. Waitress sorted our drinks promptly and often popped back to make sure everything was ok. Have recommended to friends and look forward to another visit in the future.

Food was good nothing to complain about but wouldn't say it's extraordinary however the staff are lovely. our waiter Rhiannon was friendly and incredibly patient with all our needs!

It was so lovely when I went in, I’ve been meaning to write a review for a while. My server was a lovely girl with an amazing attitude and she was so sweet. The food was delicious and we got everything we asked for nice and quickly. The atmosphere of the pub was amazing and super relaxed and calming. All in all it was an amazing experience.

Hadn’t booked, was quite busy but 5 of us were seated within about 5 mins or so. Our server Rhiannon was here there and everywhere it seemed but she made sure we had everything we needed, checked on us halfway through our meal, which is rare in the past here. We all had main and pudding. It was ok for pub grub.

An absolutely incredible experience here, the service by pur Waitress, Rhiannon was spot on as she made us feel welcome, she had great knowledge of the menu and her service was very thanked upon with her friendliness. Would come again.

Came for the EV charger, stayed for the grub. Good times where had.

Had a Christmas meal last night, The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious and plenty of it.

We made a mistake with our booking but staff only took happy to accommodate. Everyone within our party was really impressed with our visit staff were very friendly and attentive, our food was delicious (festive menu) everything cooked with care. The food was very good value, looking forward to coming back soon.

All was good except one of the steaks which was very gristly

A warm welcome. The waitress was very prompt in taking our order and bring out the food despite it being a bit busy.

The restaurant was packed solid. Meals were luck warm. Or burnt. Was not impressed. No tea or coffee the machines were not working.

A group of us went for a Christmas catch up and were greeted by very friendly staff. We had all selected from the Christmas menu. The food was delicious and hot. The service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. An excellent evening was had by all. Will definitely be back soon.

Had a great meal in here recently and would definitely come back again for more. Had the surf and turf, my dad had the steak and ale pie. Food is great and reasonably priced. Staff are great and very welcoming. Like the new format where you find a table yourself and place order at the bar. See you again in the new year.

Much improved since last visit 2 years ago.

Festive (Christmas) meal for our work night out. It was awful. We sat for an hour until we had to find someone and ask where the starter was. The mushrooms were over fried. We then had to find someone to ask where our main course was. We sat down at 7pm and we finished at 9.45pm. The waitress just said well we have a lot of tables in!

Well placed near but not on the main Dorchester Road. Friendly staff good menu selection at reasonable cost. Give it a go.
