The Avon Valley Railway is always a pleasure to visit, with its heritage charm and scenic surroundings. However, the café is a letdown when it comes to value for money. I paid £5.95 for a bowl of cheap, just-add-water chicken soup and a dried burger roll. My companion’s plain cheese sandwich with crisps was £6.95. Both were overpriced and showed little effort in preparation. While the railway itself is worth visiting, the café leaves much to be desired.

We came for the first time and had an afternoon tea. The food was lovely, staff were friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend coming and excellent value for money

Called in for a breakfast with family after a week in Cornwall on the Lizard. No cooked food, no breakfast just plastic wrapped Paninis heated up by polite and attentive staff. C,Mon Sainburys you can do better than this.

Had a lovely meal in the Talaton Inn on our last night. The welcome we received from the owner was so nice. The food was great too and the bonus was it was a few minutes walk from our holiday cottage. A must to visit if you are in the area.

Had the afternoon tea on Valentines day, The table was reserved in the conservatory as requested, the quantity and quality of the food served is superb, the waitress was friendly, and the china tea set they provide just finishes it off , for me it is not a proper afternoon tea without the china .I have paid a lot more for afternoon tea and got a lot less, both in quantity and quality, you have to pre order, but I guarantee you will not be dissapointed.

Absolutely fantastic pub and I do mean pub! There is a pool table, dart board, quiz nights, games of spoof at the bar, everything that has been lost from most other pubs in the country. The food served is simple pub grub, done well and pretty cheap. The Landlord is very welcoming and if you have any interest in vehicles, local history or wartime you will struggle to leave!

Whatever the various opinions about the previous restaurant were like that is history. The new Ivy House is superb. Friendly waiter service, quick ordering, good prices, lovely location, airy, light, spacious, good atmosphere etc. The opening hours are similar to the Groves nursery so dinner is not an option like most garden centre restaurants. Have been there MANY times since the opening and always enjoyed it

We had two toasties and coffees. Both were excellent and well priced. We sat on. Two stools in the window which is the only place inside.

I have previously had coffee here and while it has never been amazing, it is generally OK, though I always feel it is priced too high for the quality of coffee you get. However, today it was perhaps the worst cup of coffee I have tasted in over a decade. I am not sure why but maybe something that the barista and the management need to figure out. There are definitely better places for coffee in broadstone! Happy to guide you to these...

My wife and I both have Shepton connections but had never been to the cafe before. Having g recently retired, we called in for a toasty and a sandwich. The food selection is brilliant, prices really reasonable (no £8 sandwiches here), and the staff really friendly. Sadly, the cafe is up for sale but we really hope to get the chance to return before it closes or goes upmarket.
