The Boathouse Bar and Restaurant in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

We visited the boathouse during our stay at Praa last bank holiday. The food was absolutely delicious and the kids loved dancing around with the entertainer in the evening.

Our favourite spot for dinner as a family, the food is delicious and the staff are always delightful. Family and dog friendly, with a lovely outdoor play area to keep the kids entertained, as well as darts and a pool table for the grown ups. Don't miss the Sunday carvery! If you want a delicious meal in a lovely place with a warm atmosphere in the area, this is the place to go. :)

Fantastic food.Friendly chatty staff and very very clean.Pool also clean and tidy everything organised.

We popped in a while back for an evening meal, drink and game of pool. The food was very good value for money, the pool table took card which was handy as I didn't have any change on me and the barman (Jonathan) was very helpful and friendly. We live locally and will be popping back again soon

We took our daughter and granddaughter for the dip and dine and was not disappointed everything concerning the pool and changing area spotless.The dine part of the deal was delicious food was hot and freshly made.the staff polite and friendly we would like to say a big well done to the chef and to Olly who was one of our servers there was another lad but sorry we didn't get his name.Will be returning very soon.A big thank you from the Pascoe's.

As a regular customer of the facilities i.e. the pool usually 3/4 of us for the past 8 + years . We always have lunch & coffee afterwards we are all senior citizens & are very disappointed with the menu now, no sandwiches or smaller items to choose i.e. poached eggs / toast etc . Is there any possibility of varying the menu to include light bites ?

There was 10 of us in our party including a four year old child We all found something to our liking on the menu and we were extremely pleased with the efficient service and the quality and quantity of the food The staff were very friendly and welcoming We will definitely be returning The view from the play park was outstanding

Was very disappointed in the quality of the food. Not only was it extremely over priced, but the portions where very small and we didn’t get what was listed on the menu. Beer battered skinless cod still had the skin on and was about 4 inches long and the Mushy peas where garden peas.

Staff very friendly, lovely sea views but that’s where the positives stop! Chicken kebab, tiny and dry, served on hard/cardboard like flatbread. The skin on fries were good. Crispy chicken rice box….terrible! 4 pieces of dry chicken and a spoonful of rice. For £9.50, I was expecting a box of tasty fried rice with lots of chicken and salad. I’m regretting not taking a picture to prove what a letdown this dish really is! Chunky chips were nice. Ordered pizza for the kids. They forgot about the pizza. I’ve had better pizza from the supermarket. Ordered drinks via the app. 15 minutes later they hadn’t arrived so I had to go into to bar to ask for them. It’s a shame because the setting is nice, the play area keeps the kids entertained but the food and service let this place down.

Had the chicken kebabs. One tiny kebab per portion. Came with chips a small bit of salad and a flat bread. Chips were horrible. Had to wait 90 minutes for the food, as a take away. But wasn’t actually ready for 2 hours !!

We played 18 holes at the adjacent golf course, taking a half-time break at the Boathouse for lunch. The staff and their service were impeccable. Lovely food too - scampi and burgers served in baskets with copies servings of scrumptious chips followed by good ol' puddings - all superb. The second nine holes were much more enjoyable and successful than the first nine. Assisted by Conte ted bellies. We'd definitely return here.

Ordered wide ranging take away for 13, to be collected 6pm on Saturday. Ready on time, well boxed in compostable packaging, all scoffed and enjoyed, well done.

The service here was excellent, very polite and helpful staff. The location is perfect on a summer evening, sittting outside with a stunning view over Praa Sands. Our food was excellent, well served and reasonably priced. I’ve not had scampi and chips in a basket for over 40 years - these did not disappoint! Well worth a visit if you are staying in the holiday park or in Praa itself. The competition is not worth considering in our opinion.

As ever a great pub meal with friendly, efficient service. Covid precautions were well implemented and we felt really safe. Looking forward to visiting again.

We had a really nice Sunday roast today, served by lovely friendly staff. All the COVID stuff being very well done. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

We booked this the day before hoping to get a table. We were not disappointed as the meal was so amazing. Very reasonable cost too. Although we had to wait 30 minutes as it was so busy the wait was worth it. I recommend this Pub & Restaurant. Well done staff.

The bar staff here are brilliant especially Jacob, Joel and Brogan. Nothing was too much trouble with these three guys. Had a good laugh with them.

We have been here 4 times in the last 3 weeks (twice being as a family of 8). Every time the food has been superb! Great portion sizes, absolutely delicious and at a great price too... Especially using the eat out to help out! Compliments to the chef! The service has been spot on each time! Service with a smile and so polite too!We will definitely be returning!Thank you!

very disappointed with food served ...won't be eating again, expensive for what you get and no quality at all...one bar staff member to suffice customers all might felt sorry for him

Been many times and even had a christmas day meal here in the past. Took grandson down several times but not impressed with the food or the service. On a Sunday was in a queue to be served for over 15 mins( time taken from live footy screen) yet other locals just shok their glass and were served in pref to the queue. That is so rude and was commented upon by your guests. I notice the menu has reduced and from our experience the quality seems reduced also. The menu has got quite expensive and during half term week was charged £10 for a basic pizza only to find out of this week the price reduced to £7.50. This is not on. Lastly the fries were quite small portions for £3.95 and the taste was of old tired oil. We were thinking of going back for another Christmas meal but will not be bothering due to much of the above. I did complain to the manager but he just smiled and carried on. It seems much different now with many changed faces. Good location but shows signs of neglect with worn damaged carpets so take care.

We come many times within the year absolutely love the place. All the staff are excellent and are so happy to help. The boathouse is great for pub food and fantastic for Sunday lunches had many a great night and Sunday afternoon here. Will definitely be returning

We have been coming to this park for the last 10 years and have seen the restaurant slowly decline which is a real shame.We used to go for an early swim with the kids and then have breakfast (which was always excellent). They no longer serve breakfast but do offer an evening meal after 5pm. We ordered at 4:45 knowing the kitchen didn’t open until 5 but still had to wait 45 mins to get our food. Not an issue as the park kept the little ones busy but just something to note.When the food arrived everything looked and tasted great. I was surprised that in the school holidays we were the only family dinning for the whole time we were there. This might explain why over the years the menu has become smaller and smaller with the steak now missing. The drinks offered is also reducing.With the amount of families staying at the park I think the Boathouse is really missing a trick here. Little or no advertising at the entrances to the park that a good restaurant is on site. No menu or specials board in reception to catch guests attention on the way to the pool. You could also do a little more with social media and promoting the restaurant around the park or even leaflet drop the guests.I’d love to see the bar and restaurant return to how it was years ago. Please visit the Boathouse if your staying in the park even if its just for a pint and a chat.

Visited twice a day for week whilst staying on the holiday park. Lovely little park area great views. Didn’t try the food this time. Staff were great quick service and could manage a chat which seems rare these days. Only problem was the Bad Apple cider awful stuff.

Arrived early and so ate an omelette...£8.50 and hardly any salad...no chips even. Not good value. Reception staff unfriendly. Accommodation was first class though...AR9.

Dined here as it is local and was very pleased with the food and service. Good well balanced menu to satisfy all, good children menu. Staff and service were excellent and the venue was very clean and comfortable. Give it a try as food is served all day from 12.00 and menu changes at 17.00

We have not been to the boat house for a few years. I have got to say we were pleasantly surprised as we expected it to be far more expensive than it was as in the past we thought it was on the expensive side. We found the food to be excellent and excellent value for money. The staff were also friendly and helpful.

Ate a few times at the boathouse; food was always excellent, didn’t cost the Earth and enjoyed by all......that is with 2 picky kids.

This restaurant has nice views and is convenient if you’re staying on the site. It used to have a good menu, including specials but now it just appears to be basic burgers and basket meals. The nice pizzas we have enjoyed on previous visits have been removed from the menu. They used to offer special buffet style evening meals e.g. pies or pizza etc but this seems to have stopped. The blackboard was empty the whole week we were here! We stayed in half term when the site was full of families...can’t help but feel The Boathouse is missing a trick. We used to eat here 2-3 times per holiday at least, but not his time.

Ate here twice whilst staying at Praa Sands holiday resort. Friendly staff who managed to help locate and return my wife's lost purse on (day one of our holiday)!

stayed for a weekend. whilst the park and accommodation was lovely, the food was terrible. Friday night only two choices due to a golf party. chicken or scampi in a basket. chicken was dry tough and overcooked and despite ordering different chips they got it wrong. wasn’t chicken just goujons! Sauce was foul and had a skin on it so had been sitting for a while.

Ate here twice during our holiday wasn't the best either times. Salad dressing totally overpowered the taste of the food and soaked the burger buns.Looking back wish we had said something but not easy to wait for another meal with young children hungry.

Me and my friend went to the gym on site.. then had a lovely lunch in the restaurant.. food was delicious! Service was great, very clean and a lovely atmosphere 😊

The dip and dine deal was good value for money. However the cavery wasn't great, I've tasted better. The drinks were overpriced. Staff was ok. Overall ambience of the place is nice. Family friendly with enough to keep kids active.

Una vez más visitamos nuestro favorito Holiday Village en Praa Sands durante una semana y, mientras que visitamos el Bar y Restaurante con frecuencia. Las chicas del bar era agradable y bueno en su trabajo. La comida, gracias a la Chef Merryn era excelente y tenía un montón de opciones para elegir.

The food was great and the selection of food was surprisingly large compared to when previously visited. Nice decor with good views and pool/darts.

Liked it, food was nice, light lunch, outdoor space for kids to play. Would visit again if in the area or visiting the caravan park.

El año pasado todos los días primeros meces desayunamos oír ... Este año lunes/viernes no abre hasta las 11:00 p.m. , así que tarde para el desayuno creo que están perdiendo de comercio aquí.. La comida no es un bien como en años anteriores y a veces no había ni servicio de comida ... lo cual nos hizo pensar que el servicio era impredecible, así que se comprometerían a hacer arreglos para comer aquí

Sólo había una preciosa hamburguesa en " El Boathouse Bar" y sin duda recomiendo alojarse en Praa Sands y probar el menú.

Acabamos de pasar una semana con mi esposa en el sitio en Praa Sands, Proximidad Penzance, Cornwall y durante el curso de nuestra estancia visitamos el bar y el restaurante y comimos en dos ocasiones y una cena en 1 ocasiones. El personal era muy agradable y servicial. El menú era muy bueno y variado. Las comidas eran bastante grandes y bien presentada. Nos quedamos más que satisfechos con nuestras visitas.

Perhaps not the place you would think of for a Sunday roast, but I can assure you it is the best out there!I am fussy, like a good deal and want excellent quality food. It is here, about 3 miles from my house? The wife will be having lazy Sunday's from today, to match the rest of her week!

Quiet, safe environment for children with helpful, cheerful and friendly staff. Varied menu and the food we sampled was lovely.

We found the boathouse was a lovely place atmosphere was good the staff were so nice and helpful, the food was great really enjoyed it and the views were amazing that we decided we would have our wedding reception here and we did four weeks ago and the day was perfect the staff were so helpful and every guest loved the food and it was a day we won't forget and for that we thank the boathouse staff

We held our wedding reception here and it was perfect from start to finish. The service was quick, the drinks are priced reasonably and the food was excellent with the portions a very good size. All in all a brilliant visit and a highly recommended venue for that special occasion.

Lovely mean for four of us with friend and prompt service. Great choice of meals both on the menu and the 'specials' board. Everyone was really pleased with their particular choice

Frozen pellets called mashed potato were slimy and tasted like the packet. The burger was average too. Sorry but the food just isn't up to standard
