The food was phenomenal , the lady chef was very helpful and cooked our food exactly how ordered , we all really enjoyed our meal , we would highly recommend it , the atmosphere was also very warm and welcoming and the prices were very reasonable too

Our first visit…..A proper breakfast…I had the large cooked, inc a very nice cuppa tea…fab cooking, so good I was not able to eat til the evening. It’s not about the size/portion of a meal it’s about how well it’s cooked and this was a meal that arrived hot, was great value and we will definitely visit again….. my wife had the poached eggs and advacado, the eggs were cooked as poached eggs should be, a perfect white and a yolk that drizzles over the plate…

Popped in on off chance for lunch. Ordered a toastie and dirty fries each. The toasties were delivered relatively swiftly but no sign of the fries. Had to start eating toastie before it went cold & asked twice about the fries to be told 'they're just coming'. My husband had finished his sandwich before the fries arrived. The 2 kitchens obviously weren't communicating on orders. We wanted them together not as separate courses! Shame as food was lovely but make sure you tell them you want things together.

Lovely tea and coffee, however, stupid layout and unhelpful staff. Queued where it said queue here, and after ordering went to sit down at a table by the counter, then aggressive lady came up and said you can't sit there if you ordered from that counter as that's takeaway only, and the tables belong to the cafe in the next room, asked for upgrade/ to pay the difference so we could sit down, she said they're completely different businesses so that's not possible, but it's really not clear at all as the tables are all in the room next to the big counter which doesn't say takeaway only. She said she doesn't make the rules and she's always telling the staff to ask if it's for takeaway or eat in.... Not good, rubbish start to the day. Sort it out guys!

My first visit to the Cross Keys and one of many to come. Participated in a chivelrous bout for the ages in the infamous premier pool league. Their tap water and ice is unrivalled and even better still, the owner and his family couldn't have made me feel more welcomed. Carvery is next...

We stayed in the nearby camping site in our motorhome and whenever we can like to eat locally. This place is so close that you can enjoy a few pints of their lovely Guinness and local ales leaving the wheels behind There is a menu on their website and specials on the board by the bar The bar maid is very friendly and gave my wife a taste of the local ale to try before plunging for a pint she might not like We both ordered the steak and ale pie and wow it was HUGE and so tasty Very dog friendly pump Recommended that you book a table as it can get very busy Tony,Shelley and Holly the mutt

Having moved into the area, our thoughts is to support a local business. The garden centre is great and we will continue to use for our gardening needs. Least the chap on there on our visit smiled and was friendly. The visit to the cafe unfortunately not so good. As previous messages left on trip advisor the lack of warmth from staff members in the cafe is non existence . Tea no extra hot water meant the taste of such strong tea was disgusting why not chew on the teabag only forget the water !! We have a lot of friends and family visitinf all year tound and we were thinking of booking the function room especially for Xmas festivities based on the atmosphere and the food which was over salted, just tepid. Won't be booking anything. I am in hospitality, restaurant, cafe, customer service is your business , there should be no let up no natter what your day is panning out personally, without customers you won't have a business, don't rest on your laurels.

The Avon Valley Railway is always a pleasure to visit, with its heritage charm and scenic surroundings. However, the café is a letdown when it comes to value for money. I paid £5.95 for a bowl of cheap, just-add-water chicken soup and a dried burger roll. My companion’s plain cheese sandwich with crisps was £6.95. Both were overpriced and showed little effort in preparation. While the railway itself is worth visiting, the café leaves much to be desired.

Called in for a breakfast with family after a week in Cornwall on the Lizard. No cooked food, no breakfast just plastic wrapped Paninis heated up by polite and attentive staff. C,Mon Sainburys you can do better than this.
