Pips Pasties in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

My headteacher loved them trying them for yourself and they are actually the best pasties in the whole wide world so you should try them try a get a chicken medium or large and then be delighted

Best bacon butty I've had in a long, long time. Chap on the next table looked to be enjoying a fab breakfast. Clearly a favourite place for locals.

Bought 2 pasties to take down the beach on our walk today, wish I’d brought water as omg there was far too much salt and even more white pepper in them.Reading the reviews this seems to be common, shame cause it was a waste of money buying them, I ate half of mine and son didn’t even that much.

Usually very good pasties. On 24th October 2024 my Large Cornish Pasty had far too much white pepper in. Have a word with the cook please. Spoiled it.

One of the best pasty shops in the area. One thing to point out is that only very few large pasties are cooked each day so you need to order ahead if you want larger than standard. Cafe has had a slight update too.

Great pastry, great filling with a good peppery taste, my favourite pasty so far (and I’ve eaten a few pasties 😁) Parking can be a little tricky but the effort is well worthwhile!

Recently left a very good review of Pips with a slight criticism of the seasoning (salt) in the steak pasties. I have visited twice since and seasoning seems to be a problem. I bought 4 large steak pasties at a cost of £21.60. All four of us were overwhelmed with the amount of white pepper contained within and couldn't finish them.We had to buy another lunch. The pastry and filling is always excellent,but what should be the easy bit is very poor. Living locally we will give Pips ONE more go as we do badly want to support this otherwise excellent establishment. Please, please, please,less salt and PEPPER!

Pasties were not as good as some of the locals stated. pastry was not nice nd the inside of the pasty was bland. i would not recommend the pasties!

I had a steak pasty and can honestly say it was delicious. It was the best pasty I’ve ever eaten. Not to be missed! I was so impressed I phoned and told them.

Purchased 2 Steak Pasties. Unfortunately had upset stomach in the evening and all the night. Not good. Very disappointed with the pasties and quality they are usually good but not on this occasion. Had to take day off work due to upset stomach.

Found raw meat in my pasty after I had been eating 🤢 not impressed I'm not going to lie I probably won't ever buy pips again

Best English Fry up in Cornwall. Great location friendly staff and great food. The breakfast is huge and comes with a hot drink also.

We picked up a coffee from here when strolling round Penryn, it was nice and piping hot. The breakfasts looked really good too

Absolutely beautiful breakfast, pipping hot throughout, good quality food, good portion, cooked perfectly and presented with care, amazing cup of tea and the best value for money I have experienced in ages. The cafe was clean and sparkling and staff were friendly, inviting and happy to help. Perfect little place to fill up and relax. Thank you ladies xx

Usually the pasties are very good but today the cheese and veg pasty was very dry and tastless. Very disappointed in the quality and not value for money I'm afraid. Quality needs attention and customer should not receive dried out pasties!

Had walked past this place the other evening, and decided we’d try it for breakfast before we played golf yesterday What a fabulous breakfast, and what lovely staff Sitting near their refrigerator / chiller; they had a fabulous selection of sandwiches, baguettes and quiches too, let alone the pasties and sausage rolls at the counter, I may just need to call back and stock up for the trip back to Kent on Friday !!!)

We stayed in Penryn for a couple of weeks and after talking to a couple of locals in the Seven Stars, we went to Pips Cafe to try one of their Pasties...It was amazing!!! We were served by a very friendly Sharon, who even took some photos for me in the kitchen, showing the pasties being made....My mouth is watering now thinking back to that day...YUM!!!

Fab cooked breakfast and scrambled egg. Friendly waitresses and spotlessly clean. Also great pasties and cakes to take away.

Gotta say we had some pasties delivered to work, they were delicious, the large steak was massive and full of flavour and seasoning, couldn't knock it. Great service and speedy delivery. Definitely having another one soon

We tried the pasties and then got more to take home, great location for us as it was close to where we were staying.

These are my favourite Pasties from the girls over in Penryn. I don't no how they do it, the tayties are almost the consistency of mash blending everything nicely together all wrapped up in a buttery flakey pastry seasoned to perfection. It's my main gripe when the veg is thick square edged and separated this to me indicates its under cooked for construction of the pasty there's a lot to say for a standard size as to a large which can cause a whole lot of problems in cooking times ect.

Popped into Pips Pasties next door to the Seven Stars to have a meeting, & ordere the most enjoyable cofee & delicious pasty. Will certainly return very soon.

What was once the best place to get pasties has sadly let themselves slip. Staff appear often far too busy. The pasties themselves are often lacking flavour. Hopefully this place doesn’t slide any further...

Went here today for lunch and hot drinks with child. Nice small cafe, friendly. Little bit of a wait for pasties as were cooking but had hot drinks whilst we waited. Lovely food. Even he medium pasty was really big. All reasonably price too.

Wide range of fresh, cooked or frozen pasties. Full onsite cafe facilities. Parking can be a bit of a problem and you could encounter steps

Pips pasties are the best on the southwest , these do various flavoured pasties they are full of flavour lots of lovely juice in the pasties . They also do many other takeaway foods and you can also eat your lunch in with a hot or cold beverage. The staff are so warm , friendly and welcoming. I would without hesitation recommend them to anyone. Very reasonably priced and worth every penny. A family run business whom ate V local themselves. If ever your in Penryn or just passing through drop in and see for yourselves . It's worth it I promise.

I visit this cafe alot over the years and I've always felt welcomed by the friendly staff and there food is well worth the money the baguettes and sandwiches are filled to the top the breakfast is a full plate with two of everything plus a free tea or coffee bargain! You can sit in and relax with your food or take it away! I would highly recommend everyone to go and try it!Also they cater for all and is a very clean establishment and family friendly which it's hard to find places like that these days!

I have regularly bought drinks and food at Pips in Penryn... but my latest experience left me feeling humiliated and belittled...

We came across Pips by chance and we were not disappointed with our choices. My vegetable and cheese pasty was simply delicious and it was served with a salad as requested. My partner had the breakfast sandwich and equally enjoyed it and both were excellent value. The service was friendly and we would recommend highly

Popped in a while back to grab a sausage and cheese baguette. The sausage was freshly cooked cheese was melted with fried onions just how I like it.Went back today to order same, cold sausage from the fridge, big chunks of raw onion and a load of cheap grated cheese. Tbh the lady on till was quite abrupt and I didn’t even want to complain. It’s a small gripe I know but a least ask the customer how you would like it. The portions are good and the bread fresh but have been put off going back now.Just finished eating the roll and feel slightly petty writing this but it needs to be said.

We each had a breakfast, one small plus a coffee and mine a normal breakfast... It was huge and included a coffee. Comfortable seating, good service and lovely food and great value. I could hardly move after finishing evry last bit of a fantastic breakfast. Enough food to see me through the rest of the day. Well done.

Sadly one of my favourite pasty shops, that I buy from every week has gone down hill badly.Why oh why are you putting huge chunks of inedible ONION in the pastys now ? !! They are so big and thick they RUIN what once was a beautiful meal. Please prepare them with more care and CUT those horrible ONION chunks. Would I recommend.. well no not as they are now !!

Lovely pasties , you can even buy frozen to take home and cook when you need them. Just in the Main Street next to the post office , even has a cafe so a quick cuppa . Or a bit to eat good size menu .

Why is it that I wait half day for my lunch and get a pasty delivered and it was definitely left over from yesterday not good one bit really nice when fresh

Hay muchos proveedores de Pasty en West Cornwall y puedo decir honestamente que he visitado la mayoría de ellos. Pips es en mi opinión el mejor Pasty dentro de 8 millas de Penryn. Fuera de este radio, hay una pareja que calificaría igualmente. Incluso hacen entrega a domicilio! El café Pips está en la calle principal de Penryn y, en ocasiones, el único problema es encontrar un lugar para estacionar.

Not only best Pasties, but friendly service, sandwiches, quiche, salads, cakes etc, including freshly cooked meals, from breakfast to lunches, worth a visit reasonable prices too.

Shop closes at 2pm mon-fri as everything is literally sold out. Great pastry and filling with just the right amount of seasoning too. Definitely up there in the top best four pasties made in cornwall.

Visit this small friendly little cafe on the terrace at Penryn,buy their pasties which are without doubt the most tasty of any in the County...and we have tried many for sure. But sadly must warn you that unless you are a fan of Tinned Tomatoes & Mushrooms in a sea of Baked Beans accompanied by tasteless Eggs,Sausage & Hash Browns this and my wife's Veggie BF,were truly awful. Had we both not had such an early start and were Very Hungry, we would have left more than the 40% we did. So go for the Pasties (See menu in pics below) which are really good.

Well I’ve used this little cafe loads for the pasties and sandwiches but have only just started sitting down to eat. The full English is what it says and fills the plate and was all cooked fresh and beautiful. Comes with a free coffee or tea. Best all day breakfast I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend and will be back plenty more. The prices are good for the amount of food you get. I’ve also had a jacket potato with beans and salad which again filled the large plate.

I’m rarely in Penryn and happened on this place by chance. Beautiful pasties, lovely pastry and quality meat, all really well cooked. Superb, highly recommended.

The pastry is the selling point on these pasties in my eyes, although the filling is just as good. Hot or cold they are always cooked to perfection. The only bad bit is the heartburn afterwards

We've been having these delicious Cornish delicacies delivered for lunch for a while. The pasties are delicious! Always full of meat and vegetables and plenty of seasoning!!! YUMMMM!! Excellent value for money. You can eat in - seating for about a dozen - takeaway or have food delivered!Free Car Parking almost opposite down a short lane! Pay and display just down the street!!Enjoy! xx

Forget the other local bakers in Penryn, this place is well worthy of your visit.Their pasties are out of this world, and as for the baguettes & cakes they sell ... you won't be sorry you called by. I hate going to places where you spend your money, then come away feeling hungry. Visit Pips and you'll come away feeling stuffed.There is also seating for a few people, so you don't need to hurry your meal, and there is a free car park (Penmarin) literally right opposite.
