Amazing venue with roaring fire. Great staff. Top notch Fritata where egg yoke melted and amazing full breakfast 5/5. Tomatoes were roasted and egg, bacon and sausage very high quality. Latte was full-bodied. Well done!

This was our second visit for lunch, and we both chose the slow-braised blade of beef, served with winter vegetables. Seriously amazing, the beef was cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend 10/10.

Booked in advance for family Christmas Eve lunch (having looked at menu in advance and seen there was something for everyone …) - to arrive and be told Xmas meal was not available - it had been ‘taken down’ that morning. Incredibly disappointing … decided not to stay for dessert when overheard one of the staff busily cleaning tables around us and saying to the lovely waitress we had, ‘hurry them along and that will be another table for four’ … we had only been there an hour… Fortunately, as a family we still made it a nice gathering, but I would not have booked here if I had known menu would change so drastically and felt somewhat unwelcomed and rushed … Would I go again, likely not.

First time in the "new" Huxley's which has moved about 20 metres and is under new ownership since our last visit a few years back . Very warm welcome and a nice warm room thanks to the log fire. Service prompt, competent, friendly and even though we were a bit early for lunch and almost too late for breakfast, having something from the lunch and breakfast menus was no problem. The food when it arrived was superb. Freshly made, generous portions and good quality ingredients. The two very charming ladies who appear to run (own?) it had a rare thing - a positive, service and customer orientated mindset. No sharp intake of breath when asked for something. A BIG improvement on the previous incarnation (which wasn't bad). Unfortunately it is 400 miles south of us so we look forward to a Huxley's in Aberfeldy.

I have been a fairly regular customer at Huxley's for close on 2-years. A warm welcome, good service with great coffee and food always guaranteed. The icing on the cake, if I can use that metaphor, was the 4-cosy chairs by the wood burning stove and large fireplace, which in winter, in the Cotswolds, was one of the best places to be. Even if you couldn't get a seat by the fire, the warm atmosphere was all around. Not anymore! In an attempt to squeeze more tables in I suspect, the 4-arm chairs have gone, and the stove is no longer lit as the replacement table is too close. Big shame as the place has lost some of its original atmosphere. No doubt I will be judged too picky but I'm sure there will be many others who will miss the fire. Hopefully only a temporary thing

used to go here at least a couple of times a year, but the last visit was a real disappointment, it must have changed hands, as for 2 small sourdough toasties, a coffee and green tea, just north of £38, is not great value and trying to squeeze people in does not make is a great place to relax

Nice looking cafe/restaurant, had a toasted sandwich which was excellent, small spoonful of vinegary coleslaw and a handful of crisps. Not great value for money, £19 for a toastie and a soft drink. Service a bit hit and miss, it was busy which might explain why it wasn’t that welcoming or friendly.

,The manager? was outside on a drizzly morning - we asked if there was a table inside for coffee - she screwed up her face & reluctantly went to look & never returned! We gave up & went over the road to Bromleys - a new coffee shop > excellent coffee and really nice staff.

The quality of food and diversity of menu makes this a real gem of a bistro. The staff were so friendly and service was fast with nice hot food! A must visit in my book.

Visited Chipping Campden with friends visiting from Australia. Arrived at Huxley’s on a bright day - there were 5 or 6 tables outside occupied and 2 or 3 empty tables at the back of the patio area. Knowbody from the coffee shop was on the terrace. We proceeded to sit on one of the empty tables. Guy came out - shouted across the terrace area”oh just help yourself to a table won’t you” - we assumed he was joking as a welcome - he then shouted “ there is a sign at the front to say wait to be seated” We got up and all moved to the entrance - with everybody watching this and clearly uncomfortable. We said the table was empty, hadn’t seen any “sign” - it was clear he thought we were tourists in the town for the day. People around looked in astonishment at the rudeness and it was extremely embarrassing to have such an outburst directed at us. We said that if it was a problem we would leave - he simply said “ that’s fine - no problem” We live locally and have now told numerous locals about this incident. Clearly, this is the way they believe they can behave with “tourists” and total distain and rudeness - I can only assume they don’t need customers and we shall certainly avoid in the future. Having visited on numerous times in the past, we will now spend our money supporting businesses that value customers. There are plenty of excellent pubs and coffee shops that would welcome our business. - my advice, look elsewhere.

Food and service was OK, however dearest cup of tea I've ever had. 4 quid is a rip off. Glad we didn't leave a tip, that would have added insult to injury.

Marco and his team are fantastic hosts that offer a simple and beautifully prepared menu. The three of us spent a good few hours relaxing on the terrace in the August sunshine after our light lunch… highly recommended

Popped in for some lunch whilst walking through Chipping Campden highstreet. In my opinion this is a very authentic Italian style restaurant. We shared the mixed platter and I couldn’t fault it. The ingredients tasted like they good quality, the portion size was perfect for two, and the price was similar to other locations in the Cotswolds. The owner brought over some treats for our dog, there was also water bowls down which is always appreciated. The outside seating area was lovely and I would recommend a visit.

Four of us dined at this restaurant last night, and it was one of the most disappointing experiences we’ve ever had. If this is what Michelin-level service is supposed to be, then I must be missing something. We all ordered the lamb, and each plate contained just three slices, as thin as tissue paper and completely stone cold. It seemed as if the chef had forgotten to heat it properly perhaps even in the microwave. The plates themselves were cold as well, which made it clear that our food had likely been sitting on the chef’s tray for at least 20 minutes before being served. When our food finally arrived, we had to wait an additional four to five minutes before calling a staff member to bring us cutlery without so much as an apology. I also noticed that the woman at the table next to us had to send her food back because it was cold. To top it off, they attempted to charge us over £20 for the service charge. Given the poor experience, I refused to pay it. Service charges should be an option on the card reader, allowing customers to select "yes" or "no." Why should I pay extra for someone to serve me cold food? I was truly disappointed that this restaurant holds a Michelin title. It seems that this recognition has led to overconfidence, resulting in a decline in both food quality and service. Please take this as constructive feedback rather than criticism.

This hotel is a lovely place with old-school decor and a good price. I stayed four nights but was really disappointed with something that happened during my visit. Due to some reason, I had to have a parcel delivered to me. When I picked it up, I noticed it had already been opened and repackaged. The staff at reception didn’t mention anything, and later when I asked, a male staff member admitted they had opened it, saying they thought it was for the hotel. To make things worse, the invoice inside was missing. I checked with Harrods, and they confirmed it was included in the package. But the staff insisted there was no invoice, that wasn’t true! The parcel contained a £2000 Burberry coat, and I needed the original invoice to claim VAT back. Because of this, I lost VAT on this item, which was really frustrating. How can a hotel open a guest’s parcel and even let something go missing without mentioning it first? It looks like if I hadn’t noticed, they would have just hidden the truth. The package clearly had the Harrods logo and my name on the outside, so how could they not realise it wasn’t for the hotel? This is completely unacceptable and shows that they completely do not respect for guests’ privacy. If I had known this before, I would never have asked them to receive my parcel. I won’t be booking here again, and I hope this helps other guests avoid asking them to receive parcels, especially when they are high value.

Just popped in on my last day in Cheltenham to get some sausages for that night, I had seen a few days earlier that they have a large selection of bangers to chose from, I ended leaving with Cheltonian sausages, pork and black pudding sausages, a traditional sausage roll and a large chicken/ham and leek pie. Everything was great but the highlight was the pie, perfect pastry, perfect filling (I could’ve eaten a bowl of that on the side) and £6.95 for the large option. Also even though I love black pudding I reckon the Cheltonion sausages were the best option. Shame this is 2 hours drive from mine.

Arrived after having a year away to find no tea room and part of the shop (next to the actual water wheel). This is such a shame but I suppose its probably due to visitor numbers falling as nowhere to have a cuppa & snack although there are nearby alternatives that are comparable to what were the high prices. The remaining shop stock has stayed the same items of clothing and tourist pieces. Could do with a revamp, new stock items to breath fresh air into it. Other than that staff friendly as usual.
