My wife and I stayed for 2 night, expecting evening meals and breakfast as we were visiting Wells and Bath and Yeovil . I think it was a lovely pub at one time but not now. It did no food closed most nights , we visited other pubs for our meals very disappointing stay and would not recommend anyone to stay I think it will possibly close down very shortly.

Often closed so it's best to phone beforehand. This and the Coach and Horses in South Perrott seem to have become mainly b&bs rather than pubs. Maybe more money in it.

Popped in as this was the only pub in North Perrot where we were staying. Everyone was very friendly and made our family (2 adults & 2 kids) feel very welcome. Although they were very busy with a large party they did all they could to ensure we were fed as soon as possible. Food was great and well priced (proper pub servings...kids dinners nearly as big as adults). Great service, our waitress was a star. If we are ever in that area again we would not hesitate to drop in again.

Good company! Visited after a long and busy Friday. Real ale , well kept! Nice garden. Really enjoyed the drinks and company of the landlord and land lady. Simon the chef bringing new options to the Menu. Good local pub with food. We have used the accommodation for visiting relatives and would recommend the annex which provides a good clean room and English breakfast.

We had an excellent lunch (pan fried salmon) on arrival Good Friday. Rooms are clean and tidy with their own access - comfortable. Sunday lunch was excellent - 3 courses with a choice of starters, choice of 3 different roasts and 3 desserts. As we found with the whole area the staff, landlord and landlady are incredibly helpful and pleasant. North Perrot is a village of 200 or so people so very peaceful and in good walking country. A little more excitement is easily available with Bridport, Dorchester, Weymouth, Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Coast all a fairly easy drive away.

This is a proper spit-and-sawdust pub! We visited on a quiet Tuesday evening. The landlady and locals were friendly and chatty. Service was efficient and there are local draft beers on tap. I ordered 10oz gammon with two eggs, mushrooms, peas, tomato and chips; my partner had fish and chips with peas and tartare sauce. We waited about 25 minutes for the food, but when it arrived it was piping hot, excellent quality and perfectly cooked. You couldn't ask for anything more: a hidden gem!

We came here because our original destination for lunch was closed. Didn't know what to expect, but delighted to go into a proper pub, patterned carpets, dark wood, fireplace (obviously unlit at this time of year), warm smile from behind the bar, and a real pub lunchtime menu; filled baguettes; sandwich toasties; jackets; ham, egg and chips; scampi, chips and peas. Yes the latter we both had. Exactly as expected. Proper scrummy pub grub, and with the monthly ladies lunch in too, great atmosphere, impeccable service, very happy. As I said, what you see is what you get, and actually a pleasant change from the usual 'gastro pub'.

Haven't been here for about ten years and it always did good food then. It still does. good quality food, freshly cooked by a very young chef. Landlady was very friendly and the meal was very good value for money. It was more arty ten years ago. now it is a real blast from the past. A good quality village pub offering good quality food at realistic prices. Recommend the steak and ale pie!

Popped into The Manor Arms with family and dogs for a quick drink and a bite to eat (dogs allowed in the bar no issue 👍🏻). Staff were welcoming and although we were late to order said it would be OK, we all decided that a sandwich would be enough. We do like a local pub but what wasn't so good on this visit was the price of the fare. The sandwiches served were only supermarket bread with basic choices, they came with a smattering of salad and nothing else. The thing that was disappointing was the cost - £6.95 each. You can buy this sort of offering for £2.50 to £3 in any shop, I understand that served in a pub can cost more but this was very poor for the price. To sum up a nice traditional pub with friendly staff who accommodated us very well but very poor value for money on the food front.

Beautiful old traditional inn, located in heart of village with plenty of parking at rear. Lovely spacious bar area with open fire, and restaurant at far end. First visited on a quiet midweek Winter evening, greeted by friendly & welcoming landlady who offered us a quick snack, as due to time constraints, didn't have time to stop for a main meal. The service and food (sausage, egg & chips) was superb, and great value. All in all, a lovely local pub.

Three of us, one a vegetarian had dinner this week. It is obviously popular because there were ten dining on a Monday night. Starters of garlic mushrooms and smoked salmon were delicious and plentiful. Mains of vegetable balti and poached salmon were very good, the steak and ale pie less so. Service professional and quick. Comfortable seats. Good value. Would eat there again but maybe not the pie. Met the chef briefly and was impressed. Nice unpretentious pub with good standards of food and service.

We were staying in a holiday cottage in the village and decided to call in for a drink on our first Saturday to check out our local for the week. We received a very friendly welcome from the owners who took time to talk to us about the local area and gave us some advice. Although we intended to only stop for a drink we decided to stay for lunch as we felt very much at home. We both had a sandwich with some cheesy chips on the side washed down with an alcoholic beverage. The food was very good - not exceptional - but very fresh and nicely presented. For me the highlight of this pub is the very welcoming owners and the good beer!

I had the mushroom and walnut filo tart. The food was unattractive to look at and overcooked. I didn't find a walnut. There was no flavour, The portion was tiny - about the size of a cupcake. My dining companions had very generous portions of roast meats and steak and ale pie . The steak and ale pie was about 400% larger than my tart. My food was accompanied by some sticky cranberry mess (probably sauce as it was served in a small jug but it was actually solid and had to be scraped out) presumably made as an accompaniment to the roast turkey. . I had some new potatoes - overcooked tasteless and swimming in butter I was left to share the overcooked sprouts carrot and swede that was served with the roast meats.A wholly unsatisfactory dining experience. The Manor Arms at North Perrott escapes a terrible rating because it is a very nice village pub and it serves very nice beer, The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was good, Just my food was appalling. I don't know why restaurants assume because you don't eat meat that you dont want to eat very much. A vegetarian usually wants more bulk (ie bigger portion) because the calorific value of vegetarian food is low.

The steak pie here is the best I've ever had. Not only because of the tasty meat and gravy but mainly due to the fantastic shortcrust pastry. I have had so many pub pies that have been ruined by the puff pastry lid which disintegrates when you cut into it. This pie is special. We travelled a distance to the Manor Arms through rain sleet and floods and would do so again. Everything else was good too-the beer, the B&B and friendly staff. This is a proper pub-very old, cosy, log fires and the sort of place you want to revisit. Please support this pub.

Went here for the first time today and had Sunday lunch. Excellent. Choice of roast beef or chicken. I had chicken with stuffing, and my mother had beef with a huge yorkshire. Both were absolutely excellent. The chicken was falling off the bone and the beef was apparently extremely tender. These were served with beautiful roast parsnips and potatoes, mashed swede, carrot battons and a savoy cabbage. All wonderfully prepared - cooked to perfection. The pub is, being the only one in the village, obviously a local's pub, but do not let this deter you as the welcome is extremely warm and friendly and the staff are extremely efficient, friendly and helpful. It is a very old pub and inside is warm and welcoming and the ambience is second to none. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to eat - you won't get a better welcome or food. Price wise it is excellent - £25.50 for two sunday lunches, a round of drinks and two coffees (with the choice of milk or cream!). There was a family there with two young children (approx 2 & 4) who apart from being extremely well behaved, were offered colouring pencils and paper whilst they waited for their meals to be served.

I stopped here on advice from River Cottage en route to a course there. My business partner and I received a warm welcome and after a bad five hour drive from Hertfordshire, a great couple of pints. The rooms are good value with the necessary facilities. Very clean and well aired. Comfortable beds and completely satisfactory. We arrived on Saturday, fish night, which was great for us. The whitebait was excellent as was the squid, a little chilli would have lifted the dish. The main course was very good indeed with lemon sole cooked to perfection and smoked haddock just lovely. The queen scallops and prawns were too creamy and under seasoned but fresh and tasty. The crème brûlée was awful and the apricot tart had raw pastry. This was addressed with a good cheese board and we had some decent Sauvignon blanc and Shiraz. Overall not a gourmet meal but they addressed the issues well and with good humour. I thoroughly recommend staying here, just choose wisely from the menu.

My husband and I have been having the occasional Sunday lunch were for years as we pass it on our way down to the coast. I believe (I may be wrong) that it may have changed hands since we last came here. We arrived on the Sunday, not having booked, but this was no problem. My husband chose his roast (choice of 3 I believe) and I had the option of an aubergine bake. We sat out in the garden, which I did not know was there, it was lively. This place's roast dinners are always delicious, great vegetables, always cooked 'just right' and very reasonably priced. It is always quite when we go in and I do wonder how they manage to keep going in this current climate, but hope this does not affect them, although I did notice a poster in the bar advertising up and coming events, so well done.

Papers are laid out at the bar, which always encourages you to enjoy the whole sunday lunch experience, but most impressive of all is the fabulous lunch. This was our 4th Visit to The Manor Arms, Each time we have been impressed by the homecooked food. The roast on sunday is quite simply delicious, and is head and shouders above most local pubs and resturants in the surrounding area. The greatest surprise is the reasonable cost! The welcome is always warm, with a toasty woodburner, papers to read and a genuine smile from behind the bar. On this visit we took very discerning friends, one of which is a vegetarian, who had a genuinely good choice of main course. None of us were disappointed in the food we were served. The portions were enormous and heartwarming just what you want on a winter's day! I only have two tiny critisiams,, The paper tablecloths, but I think that maybe left over from Valentines night, and the unimaginative vegetables. Otherwise 10/10!
