Had breakfast here on our last day of our holiday. We were the first ones in at 9am (we have small children who were up early!) and the food still came out of the food warmers barely even Luke warm. The sausages were hard like they had been cooked the previous day and then trying to warm them up. Bacon seemed like it had been sat there a long time. Toast, barely toasted, mushroom cold. Overall definitely won’t be eating there again. Such a shame.

Do not stay here if you're a female traveller staying alone. I was looking forward to my stay at the end of a work trip to spend a further night meeting a local friend for dinner. Upon check in I was told that the heating had been turned on in my room, which I understand as fully appreciate heating costs, but the room was absolutely freezing. Towards the end of the staff member showing me to my room, she said that no staff stay on site at night and the pub closes at 10.30pm so you will need a key to access the pub. I thought this was strange so asked if anyone else was staying. I was told a man in the room next door. I was running late to meet my friend so during my car journey I reflected on what the staff member said and did not feel at all comfortable staying alone with a male guest. Anything could have happened. Staff not being present on site was not told to me upon booking. After the meal with my friend I returned to the Lamb Inn to explain my situation to the staff member and went to collect my belongings as I didn't feel comfortable staying. She agreed with my situation yet the Lamb Inn are refusing to give me a refund via expedia. I am£70 out of pocket as I then went to stay at a Premier Inn where I felt safe. Shame, I was really looking forward to my stay here. To the owners, do not promote your business as a hotel if you do not have the capability to run it like one!

We actually go to Trevone on a regular basis BECAUSE the Staff, even when extremely busy, are so friendly and helpful. The Breakfast and Lunch menus are of great varieties. Whatever you order, the food is consistently delicious as it’s all cooked fresh and uses local produce. The complex itself has a great variety of clothes, beach clothes, Wetsuits and Dry Robes that are really great value for money. All ages catered for too…soft cuddly Toys, games all play things for the Beach. Sunglasses and local produce for sale like essentials Milk,Tea, coffee local Bacon sausage, paper’s the list goes on. They regularly have charity events and do raise a lot of money for much needed services. Personally I would give 10 out of 10 for this place. The one moan I have heard is the 50p charge for the toilet’s. HOWEVER, people have to know that the toilets were council run and the council decided to CLOSE them. There are no other toilets in this area for Beach and cafe visitors. HOWEVER the owner of Trevone Beach Complex decided to buy this block of toilets off the Council and keep them in use! This I believe was not cheap and to keep them opened does cost a lot of money also to have them cleaned on a daily basis is not cheap either…… so it’s imperative that people are made aware of this and if I’m correct if you have a meal you can ask for the 50p to use the toilets. Overall I think ( for me personally) I would sooner pay 50p than have no toilets at all…. To finish on a high note they now have a Sauna in a beautiful made Cabin and people love it. The Beach have lovely sand to make Sand Castles and the Beach itself is beautiful and CLEAN. Litter that is found can be picked up by anyone as a Beach Litter Kit I’d available for everyone and anyone. Trevone, the Beach and surrounding area is an ever changing Canvas. The Waves at Trevone are breathtaking and it really does not matter about the Weather ad the powerful Waves are just fantastic as are the local walks the coast line you really have to see to believe! Forgot to mention you can hire kayaks surfboards and wetsuits from the complex and they also have kayak training and tour’s also Coast Steering so there really is everything you need to hand…. Hope you have the opportunity to visit this stunning place one day and enjoy everything it has to offer. Love Moyra 😊

Hubby and I visited mid feb, what a lovely place Mill House is. Very oldy worldly no marble or concrete here, we had the valentines meal on the Friday and what an amazing meal we had all 3 courses, there was a singer in the bar so we had a lovely evening. Our room was clean, comfortable and warm, bathroom had all the soaps / shampoo etc that were needed, all the staff were friendly and helpful, the owners Jo and Stu were lovely and explained that the hotel was a fairly new venture and was a work in progress as a few of the public areas need a bit of TLC, we loved it and yes we will go back 😊

We came for the Sunday roast menu. The choice offered and the prices seemed reasonable. It turned out that the value offered was very good indeed. The main roast beef dinner amounted to a very substantial meal - lots of beef and a tremendous amount of vegetables. The only fault we found were the roast potatoes, which were not crisp. The starters we had were very good - duck parfait and Korean prawns. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant was quite busy for a Sunday evening in November. This showed that the menu was well supported by its clientele.

This is our fourth visit to the gardens and the restaurant. The food has always been imaginative, tasty and well cooked and sufficient in quantity. The only negative this time is the poor service. The waiting staff are lovely people but there aren’t enough of them and they seem to lack leadership and direction. Disappointed that you are not taken to a table and as such we hung around the entrance being ignored before just going to a table! Didn’t feel comfortable that staff actually clocked we were there! Restaurant really needs a change, it can’t cope, which is a shame.
