Came here for the first time today and while the food is very expensive for the portion size(it was child size at best ) it was nice. We came on a Sunday and they do have a limited menu so if you are a fussy eater like me and don’t want a roast I wouldn’t reccomend coming on a Sunday I think it was £16 we paid for just one small roast I personally won’t be back I mean I don’t know what they portion sizes would be like during the week but I don’t think i would risk it.

A return visit today for my birthday lunch. As before everything was perfect. The food is fantastic - really fresh and a seasonal varied menu - something for all tastes. The staff are really knowledgeable about the food and local wines and the service is great. I even got a lovely complimentary birthday dessert. Will definitely be returning again for my birthday next year.

We've had lunch here a few times in summer so decided to have dinner one evening. It was okay but nothing more than that and very expensive for the standard of cooking, especially when compared to nearby similar pubs like The White Horse or The Fiddleford Inn. Everything was as described but the absolute bare bones of it so the sirloin steak was about 30% fat and only came with one smallish mushroom and half a tomato and chips, the fillet was about half the size you would normally get and the fruit crumble amounted to 4 spoonsful for £8, and the price for our puddings was actually £2.50 more than on the online menu. You can get away with small portions if the food is imaginative and cooked to a high standard but this wasn't and we could have made the whole meal to a similar standard at home for a fifth of the price.

Place has gone downhill lately. Did the Friday quiz but it was uncomfortably cold in the room for everyone. Service and staff good but price increases (due to their financial difficulties) have been put up beyond many of other town pubs.

Popped in here after a swim for a coffee and something to eat. Queue wasn't that big but service was super slow! If you are going to shout out the number so people can collect the food when it's hot then shout it out loud.....I stood next to the hatch and the young people were practically whispering the numbers! Coffee hot and ok.

The scallops (light bites) were delicious but the white gravel under the shells was rather unpleasant, the shells rocked around. The burgers were fine. £18 for a 250ml glass of sauvignon blanc. The decor was tired and, as a previous reviewer mentioned, the garden is full of weeds.

It has been some years since my last visit and the Quarterdeck has had a significant extension which I have to say is fabulous. I was not disappointed. The new entrance to the Quarterdeck did cause a few problems negotiating the cobbled paving with a wheelchair wasn't that easy but possible (certainly above my pay grade) but, with my dear friends son and daughter in Law it was negotiated. Having said that the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Once in, there is a disabled toilet which comfortably accommodates both the wheelchair and helper (I say that because many aren't big enough). Movement around once inside is completely fine, we had a lovely table next to an open sliding window overlooking both the pool & garden and of course the beautiful sea vista. Then we ordered food: To start, one smoked salmon & crab cannelloni (no pasta involved just crab wrapped in smoked salmon), one french onion soup with croutons and 2 bread rolls, and one fishcake, all 3 of us thought fabulous. For main course courses: 2 of us had Lobster, one grilled one Thermador (requested), 1 moules frites, and 1 catch of the day (sole). Again, the cleaned plates and grins on everyone's faces showed how much it was enjoyed. Then one Eton mess (which I have been assured is how it should be done), one Dark chocolate Torte with raspberries & salted caramel ice cream - absolutely divine and one affogato. Yes, it was a bit of treat for a 91 year old lady who is wheelchair bound, (who alway lets me park up at hers when I go off sailing) accompanied by her Son and Daughter in Law. Criticisms : 1) the entrance path isn't very wheel chair friendly but manageable - and without being able to park virtually next to the door, as we did, it would have been very hard work getting a wheelchair down the steep slope from the car park (maybe that should be a disabled parking bay?) 2) I was a bit disappointed not to be given any bread with the drinks, but actually I am so grateful they didn't as I had room for 3 delicious courses (good marketing) I am just so naughty with freshly baked bread and then find I either don't have room for a delicious pudding or come away thinking I have eaten too much! I'm sure I'm not the only one?? I think my lesson to me is if you go somewhere special and really want to enjoy . . . kick the bread to start.

La comida era buena, el servicio terrible. Nuestro servidor principal no pudo responder preguntas. Se fue para obtener respuestas, tardó años en reaparecer y no tenía la información. Conseguir comida tomó más de una hora. $ 350 para 4 personas (solo dos bebedores) , esperamos algo mejor.
