As a type 1 diabetic, Cornish pasties are a rare treat for me, so when I do get one, it's important to get it right. This place did not disappoint! I got the giant pasty, and it was delicious - exactly what I think a pasty should be like. What's more, the friendly gentleman serving us went out of his way to find the carb content, meaning I can dose my insulin correctly. Fantastic! 😊
- Quoted my fiance after he ate his first vegan burger in his life. We have met with our friends there last Saturday. That was the second time for me there and could not agree more with my fiancé. The fact that he loved it tells everything! Their burgers are tasty, and you can ask them in a GF bun, which is the best-selling point for me!
We tried: the Moving Mountain with vegan cheese and added extra BBQ Jackfruit topping. The soy patty was delicious & perfectly seasoned.
He went for the Veg Burger in Crispy Crumb because he loves a crunch! Double patty, extra jalapenos with very hot sriracha and cheese. The garlic aioli and rich tomato sauce on the side were dreamy! We added normal and sweet potato fries too!
The food feels fairly priced, and the service is generally pretty quick. Not to mention our food been served by the lovely Chef, named Istvan. Your health is in a good hand there so you should check out that place if you have not already!
called in for lunch-terrific food and drinks-good value-staff looked to be enjoying themselves - would recommend this cafe and will go again-best Mocha drink i've had for ages
I go here practically every Friday morning for 'second breakfast' with my toddler grandson. He loves it because he can play with other children (there's a big toy box), and have a warm cheese scone which he loves. I catch up with friends and have a coffee and something delicious to eat too. Everyone is so friendly... it's a wonderful place to be.
During the first lock down i got a selection of flap jacks and they were absolutely delicious. At halloween got some more flapjacks and again so yummy. Definitely recommended
Best takeaway in Chepstow, New owners have definitely adapted well to the restrictions of lockdowns, We always order through Just-eat and have our Fish and chips delivered, Never had a problem with them friendly delivery driver and food always yummy and hot.
Myself and my family have eaten in pretty much every Caribbean restaurant in Bristol (Caribbean Croft, Rice n Things, Biblos, Bikkle Island, Turtle Bay, Glen’s Kitchen, Vybz’s, Chef Watson and a few more). This was our first time ordering at Mamma P’s and we were a little nervous.
We ordered 2 large Curry Goat, 2 large brown stewed chicken, 2 plantain, 4 fried dumplings, coleslaw, cornmeal porridge. It was a £42 order so we spent quite a bit of money here.
- Negative
Having had our order accepted via Just Eat, I was surprised to get a phone call from the restaurant to advise that they had run out of brown stewed chicken, so could only fulfil one order. To be fair they did offer us an alternative, but as they had also run out of Jerk Chicken, the only other chicken they could offer us was fried. I agreed for this to be substituted, but only as there was no other option. i wish they would keep their online menu updated so this wouldn’t happen.
- Positives
The food portions were a good size, the food was warm and tasted amazing. Will definately eat here again, hopefully next time they will be able to fulfil our order in it’s entirety. This is the only reason why i am not giving them 5/5 this time.
No dislikes great place great food would go again great not far from were we live went for Sunday lunch friendly staff not to long to wait for food very popular place would remedy
Fantastic atmospheric Greek bistro right in the historic city centre, serving a great selection of delicious authentic dishes, from hot and cold meze (small plates) to larger main dishes, to meat or veggie set menus for 2 to share. The staff are lovely and I’ve always had great meals there. Vegetarians, vegans, kids all well catered for. Highly recommend.
