Myself and my family have eaten in pretty much every Caribbean restaurant in Bristol (Caribbean Croft, Rice n Things, Biblos, Bikkle Island, Turtle Bay, Glen’s Kitchen, Vybz’s, Chef Watson and a few more). This was our first time ordering at Mamma P’s and we were a little nervous. We ordered 2 large Curry Goat, 2 large brown stewed chicken, 2 plantain, 4 fried dumplings, coleslaw, cornmeal porridge. It was a £42 order so we spent quite a bit of money here. - Negative Having had our order accepted via Just Eat, I was surprised to get a phone call from the restaurant to advise that they had run out of brown stewed chicken, so could only fulfil one order. To be fair they did offer us an alternative, but as they had also run out of Jerk Chicken, the only other chicken they could offer us was fried. I agreed for this to be substituted, but only as there was no other option. i wish they would keep their online menu updated so this wouldn’t happen. - Positives The food portions were a good size, the food was warm and tasted amazing. Will definately eat here again, hopefully next time they will be able to fulfil our order in it’s entirety. This is the only reason why i am not giving them 5/5 this time.

After walking past mama's deli most weekends I actually ventured in to get some wraps to takeaway and feed the workers building walls at my house. I wouldn't describe it as fast food for take away but it was definitely worth the wait. The cheeky wrap (lamb) was a success with my lamb lover at home and the other chicken ones were equally delicious. Good value for money as they are a hearty serving. Also tried the samosa and they were a little spicy for one person who isn't into his hot food but again, another success with the others. Will definitely be going back and am looking forward to trying it for lazy brunch with the girls as there are lots of veggie options for my picky friends. :)

After a local walk a group of of around 10 of us visited Mama's deli for a cup of tea. The staff were very friendly although they did seem a little overwhelmed by so many of us arriving at once! The tea was served in nice pots and mugs (under a £1 for a pot of tea for one, which included a plate of biscuits too), they serve nice coffees to although as yet they do not serve decaffeinated coffee. I ordered a wrap which I had around a 10 minute wait for. It was worth it though, gorgeous! Will visit here again! Prices are good and the whole place looks clean and nicely decorated!

In the premises formerly occupied by Magic Roll, these chaps also produce wholesale onion bhajis and somasas for many of Bristol's delis. The rolls are cheaper than the old Magic Rolls but much the same (they were bequeathed the recipes by the former owners). Rolls delicious and lots of other lovely bits available such as baguettes, samosas and puddings. I lovely spot for a light lunch.

All the great reviews are totally deserved. The food is fantastic and the cocktails as good as anywhere. Shout out to V :) this is the best pound for pound place to eat and drink. Bristol absolutely rocks. Came up from a London for the weekend and will be back

Hands down the best carribean food I have had in Bristol, the ackee and saltfish was perfect. Had two items on my order not available and they called within 2 minutes of ordering to offer alternatives. Great value for money, will be definitely be orderering again.
