Very good food, just expensive. Shame you don't have any cheaper lunch deals. Smells so good, but can't justify the price for a lunch

Absolutely amazing food. Made with real love I tried nearly everything on the menu. Great atmosphere dined in with church friends for a catch up. Would definitely recommend this place well worth the drive. Family friendly and tunes. With much appreciation and thanks for my lovely dinner.

-The oxtail is amazing! Meat is so tender it falls off the bone. Love the flavour!! 10/10! -Fried chicken is good, very crispy and cooked right. 8/10 -Jerk chicken has good spice! Although mine was a little bit dry, the brown chicken gravy helped elevate the flavour. 7/10 -Chips were a little underwhelming considering its £4 per portion. 5/10 *It is my first time ordering from this takeaway shop and I would definitely order again. Looking forward to trying the goat curry and brown stew chicken 😊

Amazing authentic Jamaican cuisine, really generous portions alot of Jamaican takeaways can be stingy with the portions, not here! its beautiful the girls on the counter are so friendly to. I have to say it's probably the best in Bristol... ticks all boxes, flavour, price portions, friendly owners. Really hope they carry on doing well. We will be regular customers.

I literally ordered today: oxtail, rice & peas with veg, plantain & the homemade fruit punch. This meal exceeded my expectations, the oxtail was flavourful, tender & cooked to perfection! Rice & peas was great fluffy and tasted fresh alongside the veg. The plantain omg, cooked just how I personally like it but I think is the best way; not hard but soft enough to just melt in mouth. I will definitely be visiting again: 10/10! the fruit punch was the cherry on top, sweet with a kick of ginger which I loved! Happy customer !

This is the best Carribbean food in town . fantastic curried goad . Jerk is also amazing . and the side dishes are perfect . you can eat in but it is a take away really . What is better than eating it at home in front of a great movie. Simply the best .

Such a shame as the food is very good quality, fresh well seasoned. However of the 4 times I have ordered from this place there has been bits missing 3 of those times! The latest one being my friends whole meal! And forgot it if you think they will answer the phone to try to resolve this. I never write reviews but do better!!

As a south londoner I’ve eaten in a lot of Caribbean restaurants in my lifetime - but let me just say that Gullus kitchen is one of my all time favorites in England. Definitely the best in Bristol and south west.

This hit the spot... We had oxtail and curry goat with rice and peas. The texture was exactly what I was looking for and had been craving for weeks. I really recommend and will return again 😍 also shop was pretty busy but the service was good, and price was really reasonable for portion.

Very disappointed with are food tonight. Fried chicken was burnt to a crisp and very dry. Brown stew chicken the same very dry also very small portion. The veg was very watery and small portion just loads of rice to fill the containers

I recently visited Gullus Kitchen Caribbean and had an exceptional dining experience. The standout aspect of my visit was the remarkable service. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment I walked in. In particular, the blonde lady working there did an outstanding job. She has possibly the best customer service skills I've ever encountered. Polite, down-to-earth, and always ready with a warm smile, she made me feel like a valued guest. Her attention to detail and genuine care for customers truly set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant's cleanliness was also impressive. The floors were spotless, the tables were well-maintained, and even the toilets were clean and well-stocked. It's clear that the staff takes pride in keeping the place in excellent condition, which greatly enhanced my dining experience. As for the food, I ordered rice and peas with goat curry. The goat meat was tender and the curry sauce was absolutely delicious, perfectly complementing the rice. The flavors were rich and authentic, a real treat for the taste buds. I also tried the jerk chicken, which was hands down the best jerk chicken I've ever tasted. It had just the right amount of spice and melted in my mouth, truly capturing the essence of Caribbean cuisine. Additionally, I got the mac and cheese, which was very nice and added a comforting, cheesy delight to the meal. For dessert, I had the honeycomb cheesecake, which was equally impressive. I also enjoyed the grape drink, which was very nice. I appreciated the variety in their drink selection, which offered refreshing options to complement the meal. Our first visit and greated with a warm welcome as we observed fresh jerk chicken going into the smoker. We went for a 2 meat selection accompanied with rice + peas, sweated veg ( cabbage) and gravy and a side of coleslaw each. My friend went for the jerk + fried chicken. I went for the Goat curry + jerk chicken. Both were well flavoured hot and spicy as you would expect. Basically each meal cost around £16 each and would serve 2 adults, but not 2 greedy ones. The dishes also include various fish dishes as well peppered steak, oxtail, brown stew chicken. They also provide several vegetarian dishes as well It may look basic inside but the food was excellent and the menu is detailed an extensive. Can be very busy on a Saturday but they do have an on line order as well. Just make sure you have worked up appetite. You will spot the smoke coming from the smoker at 12 noon which smells amazing. The takeaway food is wrapped in cling film which will prevent any mess as the portions are very generous.

Visited for first time today. Met Mark owner,he took time out to have a chat with me and my friend ,whilst we waited for our order. Staff was friendly and polite and helpful. I had Jerk Chicken, fried chicken and fried Dumplings with mixed steamed veg. All very delicious, I can thoroughly recommend the food and will be ordering online 😋 😀 👌

First time loved it. Can't fault it. My only suggestion was a bit more chicken in the stew. Coleslaw was amazing. I just loved it. Ordered tonight and disappointed chicken pieces was cut in half, hardly any meat considering the price i paid. It was tough and pink. No gravey arrived so too dry to eat the rice. I just paid £27 for a drumstick, steamed veg and a slice of cake. Don't think il order again.

Excellent choice. Great portion sizes. A fantastic curry goat rice and peas. The flavours 10/10 not too salty or too much big bone. SIMPLY DELICIOUS.

Been coming here for a while now on a regular basis from another local Caribbean restaurant and this place is the best in Bristol. The staff are so friendly, helpful and nothing too much trouble. The food is beautiful.. good size portions, amazing flavours and perfect amount of seasoning. Gullus is the place to go for top quality Caribbean food 💯

I got some curried goat the other day. It was the best I've had. I'll definitely go back & definitely recommend it (hence this review). Reg sz, the portion was good, rice n pea, too. The service was also very good.

Ordered jerk chicken and got one small chicken thigh and one small drumstick, jerk sauce gravy looked yellow and see through and cost me £18 with delivery. Shocking!

Ordered on Uber eats. Delivery was fast! The Food was pretty bland, very watery sauce In the brown stew like it had been cooked down then water added to the pot which left it flavourless and the consistency primarily water based. Jerk hot sauce, same again the consistency was very watery. Peppered steak sauce was nice though thick and flavourful, festivals were 10/10!! And the coleslaw was pretty tasty! , fried chicken strips were nice. Mac and cheese a little overpriced, again okay. I think on a personal level It’s pretty standard food. Considering I spent £40 I wouldn’t personally order from here again.

Ordered from here for the first time, excited by the good reviews. But I was disappointed. Ordered goat curry for myself, jerk chicken and fried chicken for my boys. The goat curry tasted delicious, but was mostly bones with very little meat. The rice and peas was ok, maybe a little dry. I was left hungry. The jerk and fried chicken was a leg and thigh each, but was dry, maybe overcooked. Again the boys finished hungry. For the money, I was very disappointed.

I often purchase food from this place I am never disappointed and I have tried several different dishes. My partner also loves the food as its always on point, very fresh, seasoned well and served with a smile. However today I was disappointed - the plantain was over ripe and seriously oily; the saltfish fritter was overcooked, crispy/crunchy on one side (you couldn't eat it) and oily. The Jerk Chicken and festivals are always on point. The problem I have is that I am of Caribbean descent so I know how to cook the food I choose and I also have expectations. Plantain never tastes good when it is over ripe!

I received a Small portions of curry goat which was unfortunately very watery. There was also a lot of fat on the meat.

Best jerk chicken in bristol I've had so far , all the other dishes are good the only dish that needs improvement is the stewed chicken to much Worcestershire sauce I think but still edible. Also they have competent staff ! Recommended this to friends and family.

Im not sure that was a large curry goat. First time ordering from there but the size seems standard to me. Enjoyed the food a lot. I would order again. I just want more!

Food was great. Driver was nice to but refused to bring my food up to my door in the end. Other than that I would eat here again.

Never received my order, restaurant never answered the phone and was unable to get a refund other than £6 from just eat due to “lateness” wont be ordering from here again!

Unfortunately, the chicken wasn’t cleaned properly and was very salty. Dumplings were good and the soup was amazing.

I couldn't be bothered to cook and was passing on my way back home, the food was so good! Will definitely go out of my way to come here now. Nice and quick and tasty! Very impressed!
