Came in for lunch. Music inside was good and discreet, people were nice. I had ropa vieja, which was absolutely delicious. Wish I've had more of that. The owner is the best you can have and the place is very warm and cosy. Great value. One of the best restaurants I visited in Bristol!

Excellent food, great service. But remember they only take cash! But there a cash machine just round the corner and they are very trust in if you have to go and get some.

Believe the hype, Cafe Cuba is a great little restaurant that's well worth visiting. Amazing Mojito's and terrific food. If you can save space for the delicious flan. Like an OTT creme caramel. Like everything, the portion is generous, plenty for two.

I find it rare to find exceptional Cuba cuisine this good outside Cuba, and that includes Miami. Phenomenal experience. Service was friendly and efficient. Small order kitchen all made from scratch using fresh ingredients. Very filling portions especially the arroz con pollo. I highly recommend!

Great food and friendly service. As a Cuban, I can say that this place delivers! Quite possibly the only Cuban family run restaurant in the UK with such a level of authenticity and proper food. Period. Amazing and good-looking mojitos are a highlight!

A real surprise, in a very nice way. Looks just a basic cafe inside and out, but the food, drink and service is brilliant. Definately the best mojito in Bristol, in fact not sure it can be beaten, unless I was sat on a beach!! Food delicious, didn't need a starter. The main dishes were full of flavour and well cooked. Service was friendly and prompt and good value overall. Will be back!

Cafe Cuba is a hidden gem that offers the most delicious Cuban food you'll find. The highlight of my visit was the special mojito, which was the perfect drink—refreshing and expertly balanced. I enjoyed a mouthwatering lamb dish, accompanied by perfectly crispy plantains. The food was simple yet amazing, bursting with authentic Caribbean spices that transported me straight to Havana. The flavours were vibrant and satisfying, making for an unforgettable dining experience. Cafe Cuba is a must-visit for anyone craving genuine Cuban cuisine.

Great meal and will definitely come back

We had great experience this evening in this Cuban Cafe place, the portions were generous and super delicious and the Cuban Specialities are great. As it was my BF birthday we got some shots on house which was nice touch for this evening. Will defo come back and try some cocktails and other food options, the desserts looked delicious too. The service was great and people very friendly and helpful. My BF trued also the the hottest sauce too, quite an adventure.

Excellent! This little Cuban corner has become one of my favorite places to eat in Bristol. You have to try Roja Vieja. Thanks for everything. We will be back! :)

This is definitely the most authentic Cuban cafè I have ever been to (outside of Cuba). With mouthwatering food, excellent staff and cuban music playing in the background, I will definitely be returning. As well as this we were given free digestives! This cafè is perfect for any kind of group, catering to all dietary preferences. I definitely recommend for a quick lunch, date night or even a birthday dinner. Prices are reasonable too.

This was my second visit to Cafe Cuba. I had the Ropa Vieja (as pictured). There was so much flavour in this dish and the pulled beef was cooked to perfection. The (what I assume is) owner was friendly and welcoming and I loved the atmosphere in the restaurant, especially the lively music. This place is up there with the best restaurants in Bristol when it comes to feel good food.

Delicious food, boozy drinks, chilled vibes. Carb overload with yuca, plantain, tamales and chips, get a flavour fiesta with the mains and then wash it all down with a few mojitos. What's not to love!

It's a travesty that this place was empty when we visited! Amazing food, great decor and reasonable prices for generous portions. Have told several locals to check it out and can't wait to go back!

Do they only accept cash payments?

Have been here several times before and have never been disappointed. The last visit was just yesterday (29/03/24) as part of a large group. It's a small place, so we'd pre-booked, and they were very accommodating over the phone. It was quite quiet when we arrived, and many from our group had never been there before and were impressed with their drinks and especially the food, which was delicious as usual. We ended up staying there for well over 2 hours, by which time it was pretty busy, yet the staff remained obliging and friendly throughout. Every single member of the group had a wonderful time and would very likely go back. It's a great place, definitely one of my favourite places to go.

Food 4.5 - Authentic Cuban quisine. A little spicy, very tasty, very big portions. Service 6 - Genuine Cuban hospitality with all the positives! Atmosphere 4.5 - "Feels like home" type of atmosphere. Very pleasent, you don't want to leave.

The Cuban people are already free of capitalism so don't need 'liberation'. End the international blockade now! Great food though 😋

Having been to Cuba recently, I love this place even more for it's authenticity and laid back atmosphere. They really are the best mojitos in Bristol and the staff are all so friendly.

Loved our dinner here tonight! Delicious virgin mojitos (perfect balance of sugar and generously lime-y) Fried cassava was crispy and the perfect shade of brown with simple fresh garlic- didn’t need any mayo at all. The maize mash (sorry can’t remember what it was called) was so tasty and perfect to share. I had the sirloin steak with rice which again was simple homemade cooking and seasoned perfectly. Only small critique was that meat was ever so slightly over cooked but didn’t ruin enjoyment of dish. The plantain on the plate was the best I’ve ever tasted. Cooked to perfection. Not too burnt but dark crispy coating. Service was outstanding. Super efficient, warm and friendly. Genuine. This is a gem of a place and my only regret is that I don’t live in Bristol to visit often!

Ensure you book to get a seat but we'll worth it food is absolutely amazing fresh and hot. The cocktails are lovely aswell. Will definitely visit again!

An absolute taste sensation. When I arrived I was disappointed by the appearance of the place, it’s not somewhere I would choose to go based on that solely. But by the time you’ve soaked up the great atmosphere and lovely people who work there, and had a lovely drink, you realise how little that matters. The food is unbelievable and portions are very generous. I can’t wait to go back!!!

Edit next day: Unfortunately had to change my rating as we both ended up with food poisoning, which ruined the rest of our trip. Evening after leaving: Lovely cozy restaurant, homemade-like food, tasty cocktails. The staff makes guests feel very welcome. Worth the 20 minute walk from central Bristol. Came from the USA to try my people’s food. As a true CUBAN visiting the UK he did my people proud. FOOD WAS OUT OF BOUNDS!!!! Come see my guy. Chef Osvaldo is blowing it up in the UK.

The food at this place is amazing!! We went with some friends from Cuba and we all loved it. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The waitress gave excellent service too and was so friendly. Definitely well worth the hour's drive. We will for sure be back!

Great atmosphere and lively music, food came quick and was very hearty, filling- very reasonable prices! Incredibly flavourful, the seafood was great quality, and loved the hot sauce on the side too. The lemonade is incredibly underrated as well :))

This is the firs time I've sat down to write a review of a food place, because I feel so incredibly inspired to express how lovely my visit to Cafe Cuba was last night. Me and a friend arrived for an evening catch up and a glass of red, which was tasty and well priced. The waiter had so much charisma and asks my friend about her guitar, which then led to him playing some impromptu covers of some Argentinian songs from back home. We chatted for some time about music and culture. He was one of the most genuine people to have a conversation with, especially towards the end of a shift. We ended up staying for food (Bistec Encebollado) as the atmosphere was lively and warming, hearing people speak in different languages and enjoy the company of friends. Before we left at closing the waiter gave some free shots. An absolutely perfect way to finish November. Legends, will definitely go back!

This place was everything I hoped it would be. None of the furniture matched, the Mojito's were like rocket fuel, the food impeccable and the service, super friendly!! We were a fairly large group (8), but they dealt with this with ease. We decided to go for a mixture of starts and mains which were shared between all of us and we all left happy and full. I'm honestly not sure if there is a more authentic Cuban experience this side of Havana!! Can't wait to go back.

Gorgeous little restaurant with a really welcoming staff. The food was gorgeous and great portions. I had the ajopicante prawns, everything else also looked and smelled amazing. They’re only accepting cash at the moment but there’s an ATM right beside them. Decent variety of meat, fish, veggie etc

I went here last weekend to celebrate my 29th birthday. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone and everyone a thousand times over! The food is spectacular, the drinks are amazing. So much flavour and such wonderful people. This establishment MUST not be missed when in Bristol.

Ordered a starter that never arrived No big deal these things happen in busy restaurants. But the waiter tried to make it my fault for not saying I wanted the starter first. Unbelievable Nice steak though

We just visited for the second time, food and cocktails are outstanding!! Highly recommend the Cuban sandwich, the pork falls apart its so tender! Mojitoes were amazing on a hot evening and we also had a Corona margarita which was awesome too and looks pretty cool!

I cannot express my delight at finding this great spot tucked away in Stokes Croft. My first experience of Cuban cuisine is now love at first taste! I felt so at home and the art and background music created a very authentic Cuban atmosphere that increased my love for this culture. The food? Absolutely delicious! Something I imagine a grandmother making for me. Flavourful, nourishing, and 100% satisfying. If ever there was value for money, it would be here. The cocktails were fantastic and my mojito was not overly sweet which mojitos can sometimes be. The service was excellent and the lady that served us was sweet. Food was served quickly, generously, and piping hot. What can I say other than, I have found a new gem and will definitely bring the whole family here next time. Highly recommend anyone to visit this joint.

Arrived on the off chance and the staff where very polite and welcoming. We had the squid and salad and it was fantastic! Super fast too even though there was only one cheff, 1 gentleman making cocktails and the waitor. We also had the Special Mojitos which was very nice and refreshing. 10/10!

Amazing mojito (just a bit tipsy after only one) followed by a great steak main (the plantain was delicious) and a wonderful Cuban flan for dessert. Wonderful meal all round and a nice atmosphere too.

Amazing spot! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious - the portions were huge as well but it was so good I finished everything! We had the beef & chicken with rice as per the staff’s recommendations and it did not disappoint. Wonderful food, I had the arroz con pollo which translated into English should be badman chicken, rich and plantain. Service excellent, atmosphere buzzing and mojitos moorish. Pila advised of us of ehat to order for 2 hungry lads and the guvnor made the sound of a mohito almost mandatory

Definitely recommend trying this place! We’ve been trying to book for quite some time so recommend ringing in advance but I can totally see why it’s always booked out. The food is PACKED with depth and flavour and the portions are large! We had a range of their dishes and all of them had interesting flavours and were unique to each other. Cocktails were also really nice (and quite strong!) Staff were super helpful and attentive. Can’t say a bad word about it, will definitely be returning

The place is vibrant, crowded, and decorated with character. I enjoyed the Ropa Vieja dish, especially the self-proclaimed “best Mojito in Bristol” - was quite worth it. We got slightly ripped off, realising that after the fact, but it might’ve been an accident, as it was very noisy and overcrowded the night we were there, so a misunderstanding could have happened. We also paid before everyone else got the receipt (it was a large society outing) because me and my friend wanted to leave earlier. That could have contributed to the confusion as well, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Otherwise it seems like a cozy and lively Cuban restaurant that I would still consider going back to. (although next time I will check exactly how much I am paying, and if it’s correct!)

New food to us. Great experience & advice.

We are British but live in Greece so when we are over here in England we really like to experience food from other cultures and countries. I read about this restaurant on line and was not disappointed. It is cosy, a charming waiter and owners/chefs (I presume) very helpful and welcoming. The glass of red wine was nice and I treated myself to an Espresso Martini and also ended up having a delicious Limoncillo on the house. If you are not fixed on fine dining and want something presumably authentic, tasty and filling, I heartily recommend this Cuban Cafe.
