The Long Arms in Wiltshire

Have just experienced excellent service at the longs Arms. Greeted on arrival by Beth who is an engaging young woman made us feel welcome. The server George and Eloise were attentive and friendly. Great team and enjoyable experience.

Took my wife out for a Friday night meal and have to say it was a wonderful experience Food was served 10 minutes after ordering and was extremely good value Jamie and Beth were a credit to the pub

Food first come out wrong, then cold and my son also found a hair in his food, absolutely shocking experience, Value is good staff are friendly but will not be going back.

George and Beth tended to use wonderfully, George arranged for our son to have half strawberry sauce and half chocolate sauce on his scoop of vanilla ice cream - Thank you George!

We were just pottering through Wiltshire on a church crawl (some beauties) when lunch called. Our first call was a nice looking pub but with an empty carpark. We entered the empty pub, chose a table and looked at the menu, but after 10 minutes with no apparent staff we left. So imagine our delight to be welcomed in this splendid Inn with a smile. Everything was just fine plus proper napkins. We will return!

Not as good as it used to be. Not a very good experience. First two soft drinks we ordered were both flat and had to be returned, replacements were the same so we were offered another deink instead. Food was not great, chips were cold, presentation of the main courses looked like the plates had just been piled up with the food. Starter and desserts were ok but not great. Would not return or recommend.

Visiting the pub last night with friends seeing Jamie back was fantastic. The food was the best we have had for a very long time, welcome back Jamie and to both ceri and Jamie keep up improving the pub back to its good old self.

Very impressed by the high standards here. Very clean throughput and extremely friendly and good natured staff. I had a very good quality steak at a very good price. This place was full of families in the early evening and there was a pleasant family atmosphere. I would be interested to see if the dynamic changes in the evening as I would consider taking friends there. Some of the finishing was showing signs of wear and tear (aren’t we all) but it was very clean. Not the type of place I would usually consider (I have been here before and walked out straight away) but was told a new manager was in place. I am impressed by the changes. They obviously have a good team ethos as all the staff were so helpful (and happy) If Greene King were minded to invest in this location they could make it even better and I would consider making it a regular venue as the prices are so reasonable.

Returning to this restaurant I was surprised how much had changed The staff were friendly and welcoming and the new manager Holly couldn't be more helpful with our requests and we will definitely be returning

Absolutely awful experience. Never going back and out in a complaint. Booked a table in advance, was shown to our table. Ordered all our food plus pudding at the till and at no point was told they were short staffed or there would be a long wait. 50 minutes later we still had no food and two very hungry children. We went to the bar and was told it was on its way. Someone from kitchen came out and we we were told there were no garden peas which comes with every meal on menu plus Sunday roast so no idea how they had no peas. We ordered two steaks that were totally cremated and unedible. We were not told to get cutlery and no steak knives available so we basically left our 2 steaks. Afterwards we waited 40 minutes and our plates were still not cleared and no pudding to the table that we ordered from the start. Other customers were served that came in after us and we were totally ignored. My husband went to the bar and was told that staff had rang in sick so they were short staffed but no apology. Eventually the pudding came out. We eventually left and the children used the toilet which smelt disgusting and there was toilet roll and urine all over the floor. This was absolutely disgusting!!! I appreciate it is not the staff’s fault as they were working incredibly hard with just 4 of them in the whole pub doing bar, kitchen and serving but they should of at least told people there was a delay or only seen those who booked tables. They just couldn’t manage the amount of people in today and it was really not acceptable. Will not be returning!

We came in and the restaurant wasn’t to busy, the team all so welcoming. They catered to our fussy needs and it was no trouble at all. A great selection of meals, a lot cleaner than my last visit. There has been a change in management and you can see a difference already. The team seem a lot happier to be there and we actually see the manager working along side the team. It’s great to see !!

Came here on Thursday night, the team seemed in high spirits. It was good to see a happy team for once. The food was lush and came out quickly. We were checked on offered desserts. We will definitely be returning.

Scarlets a blast and her mum is an absolute trooper. If I was stuck on an island with only one companion if choose momma scarlet. Weasleton is sound, Beth is pure stacked and holly knocks it up a star on her own.

Ordered drinks and food after a 40 minute wait out came the halloumi fries which we asked came out with mains Young man took them back and a further 10 minutes later out came 2 mains and the now cold halloumi fries. Mains were tepid to Luke warm a further 10 mins past and still waiting on wife’s wrap so complained to manager who gave no apologies just said refund 2 meals to co worker Went back to table just as wrap arrived presentation non existent wife turned wrap over was burnt and black We left the restaurant could not be bothered to ask for rest of meal to be returned Never will we return

We visited here today with family and we had a lovely welcoming experience, Kiran assisted us with the disabled toilet and took our order he was polite helpful, and friendly. Andrew was our server and again was lovely and checked in with us on our food and had a chat with us. The food came out lovely and hot and we fully enjoyed our meal and our overall experience. Thank you to all of the other staff there behind the scenes.

Fantastic! I completely disagree with the 2 reviews below. What a brilliant place and fantastic staff. We booked here for a large party. There was 24 of us. Yes we paid £5 a head deposit, to secure the table. The team explained fully why customers are now asked to pay a deposit and that's because too many people book large tables and don't turn up. Wasting the teams time! Think about it... and yes we also had a preorder. It was no problem getting the preprder and the manager made it easy for us. She gave us her email and we all emailed her our choices. It couldn't have been any simpler. The staff were brilliant. I couldn't fault Ceri and the front of house team that day. They went above and beyond for us. I heard the manager, Sharon, was in the kitchen. And the food was just brilliant. I use a Hungry Horse up North and the food in the Longs Arms goes above and beyond what we are used to. Ignore the negative comments the staff at the Longs Arms! You are doing an incredible job and some people are just difficult to please. There is not helping people sometimes! Can't wait for our next family get together. Stopped here on a mid week early evening with a couple of our grandkids and although it wasn’t busy, it took ages to get served at the bar where you order meals (there was only one person serving) but meals arrived quickly. Definitely not gourmet food (you get what you pay for) and my chips were only warm but the grandkids enjoyed their meals (which is the main thing!). Tables were sticky and overall the place could do with a complete refurb, there were also loads of pesky flies lurking around. However, staff were really helpful (especially the young lad table waiting) and there’s plenty of parking.

Great place. Yes it was busy. The staff running around, smiling. But it is a great place for families to go. It has the play park for the kids or children's amusements inside. Great selection on the bar. Yes there was a wait on food... its the summer time. Kids are off school. Of course there is going to be a wait at lunch or dinner time. 🤦‍♀️ Staff did great putting up with abuse from other people. Can't fault the food- great quality for the price you pay. People can't complaint about this place... if they do, go home and feed your kids yourself. And leave the rest of us to enjoy our time out.
