Stayed one night and had dinner too. Everything was excellent; a warm and friendly welcome on arrival, a lovely, well-appointed room, a first class meal in the evening and a very good breakfast the following morning. A quiet and relaxing place to stay in a picturesque village. Really couldn't fault anything and thoroughly recommend.

What a find. We were looking for somewhere to stay for a friend’s wedding and we found the Queen’s Head. It’s super rare that you find such a wonder place to stay. Everything and I mean everything was simply amazing. Lovely welcome (with brownies), an amazing room, sublime food (both breakfast and dinner), amazing beer but most of all service standards off the charts. A particular shout out to Tilda - thank you.

Stayed two nights at this amazing establishment with my family while attending a family wedding. The manager and his staff are exceptional in all respects. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and very well appointed. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and loved everything about the experience. We were extremely impressed with every aspect of this place and recommend it to everyone. We will certainly be back again soon and many times in the future. Thank you for everything.

We came here today for a Sunday Roast and start to finish it was absolutely smashing. I advise you book to ensure a table. The service and hospitality is truly exceptional, kudos to the staff of this establishment, they could teach a number of other establishments a thing or two about the long lost art of hospitality! Friendly greeting, sat, and drinks order in hand, we had the best Sunday roast we’ve had out in a very long time; meat (I had leg of lamb), veg, roasties, Yorkshire’s - all cooked beautifully and served hot on warm plates, with a generous serving, outstanding. Attentive staff without being overbearing, warm atmosphere, and everyone busy ensuring the service was running smoothly. We didn’t stay in the rooms, just here for food, but if their service upstairs is the same as downstairs, you’re in for a treat. Thank you for having the two of us and Bertie the dog for lunch, it was truly a pleasure! Don’t change a thing, it’s perfect.

We have been to the Queen’s Head on numerous occasions. The Sunday Roasts and main menu meals are always fabulous, so last night we decided to try their Curry Night. Wow what a shock. Hands down it was the worst curry dishes we have ever eaten. The 3 of us who had curry ate a few mouthfuls and left the rest. They were inedible. The couple sitting next to us also had the curry and complained when asked how their food was. The sad thing is… if that had been my first visit to them I certainly would not be going back. Chef definitely needs to up the game drastically with the curry’s.

This is the second time we have eaten here and the difference was marked. First the good news: the service was excellent, the bar staff good, the range of beers and wines impressive. But the kitchen let them down. We ordered soup and scotch egg to start: the soup was far too gingery and burnt your throat. The main course were not cheap but the portions were small: my pork was £26 and I left still hungry. My wife's cod was drowning in a pea velouté which overpowered it. A shame because this pub is lovely: great location and a real sense of community. But I'm not sure we'll return.

Stayed one night and it was great. The room was very comfortable and plenty of space. Nice shower, toiletries and towels in the bathroom. Tea and coffee in the room with fresh baked biscuits on request. All food was delicious. We had the roast beef dinner which was plentiful and well cooked. Breakfast the next morning was also amazing - fresh fruit or yoghurt with granola and fruit compote, fresh pastries and then a huge full English breakfast. The ingredients are often from local suppliers. All staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, kind and efficient. We will definitely stay again and would thoroughly recommend.

Forced to spend the night here after crashing my car in the snow. No mobile signal in the village, and the pub's Wi-Fi was next to useless. Only way I could contact anyone was on the pub's landline. Decided to pay the £117 to stay the night. The room was freezing cold and the TV had no reception. Unsure if the heating was broken, but I barely slept, it was so cold. We booked a table for Sunday lunch in this popular place. The meat was very good, potatoes and Yorkshires rather ordinary, and gravy minimal though the staff happily brought more (just not enough). We have just returned from a weekend break at the Queens Head. This was our 2nd break at a ChickPea Group pub and yet again they did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived were treated very well by the staff who were all committed to customer satisfaction. The pub itself is a wonderful building with a real fire and wooden beams complimented by rustic furniture full of character. We stayed for 2 nights and could not fault the rooms. A great selection of beers served in proper glasses with handle that came with expert advice from Ethan. Food was of the highest quality and when the morning came the breakfast was the best we have ever had- as with the evening meal full of flavour a credit to the Chef. As we previously mentioned this was our second stay at a Chick Pea Pub and our plan is to stay at as many as we can- no need to look anywhere else. We were staying in Broad Chalke for a week, so ate here twice. The first time was very good, the food was quickly served and was of a high standard. The scotch egg and the rarebit starters were particularly enjoyed, and the mains, especially the steak and the liver, were all good. The wine list has a range of interesting bottles at fair prices. The second time it was busier and the service was rather slow but the food still good. It's a characterful building with beams, old furniture, low lighting and plenty of atmosphere. You can have just a drink if you don't want a meal.

Location & ambience, spot on Choice of beer / wine, very good Starters, some nice ones to pick from Main course, sadly disappointing choice made with the beef pie, just so over seasoned with salt & rosemary to the point that one of the party could not eat it. Come the winter best, bring a torch to read the menu as the lighting is very subdued. - Lovely place, jydt a bad choice on the main course on the night..

Popped in for lunch with family. Everything was absolutely perfect, the atmosphere is set perfectly, the staff are very friendly and happy to help and the food is to die for. The pub is beautiful found in the heart of Broadchalke After we ordered we were promptly brought foccacia and oils. We shared scotch eggs to start, I had the Pie. It was HUGE and of course all home made. My partner had the gnocchi special with a lamb sausage and heritage radish which was unique and well thought out, delicious also. Fish and chips and a ham egg and chips was also on the table but not for long! Desserts of white chocolate mascarpone with strawberrys were had with coffee in the rear garden to finish. We really enjoy the chickpea group and ensure we go to at least one each time we’re in the area. Head Chef Joey really knows what he’s doing with food! We look foward to returning.

They had a Thai Food night last night and while I was expecting a fairly usual affair, with the slightly obvious “Green Chicken Curry and shop bought crackers” I got a completely different experience. I have eaten Thai food all over the world and would say I can recognise good from bad….this was simply exceptional. Everything was a cunningly crafted and a sensory delight, that would have looked at home in Mayfair, SoHo, Sydney or Bangkok. I can not praise the chefs highly enough and I can thoroughly recommend “Thai Night” becomes a regular fixture. Awesome, thank you and well done!

We were directed to this newly taken over pub as we had collected some goods from Bowerchalk and it is a delightful setting. Lovely day and we sat in the garden at the back. There must be a captive well heeled audience Ias I thought...

Fantastic lunch after a lovely local walk. The menu was full of tempting options - great quality ingredients cooked really well. All the food was super tasty. Service was great. It's a lovely place to go - I would definitely recommend.

Noah, my 13 year old son said, "Best burger ever!". And it did look delicious but I think the Sunday roast topped it. Literally don't recall ever having had such good beef. Vegetables were superb too. It's definitely a treat, but we shall return!

This is a lovely pub, beautifully done up and with a great atmosphere, but we were quite disappointed with our lunch. Two mains, one pudding, two pints and a glass of wine was £78!! My husband’s pie was delicious (although surely a pie shouldn’t cost...

We booked for a family of four adults and making the most of the good weather we sat outside. We all had burgers, 3 beef and I had the Korean chicken which was very tasty. We also had a couple of starters, I had salt and pepper squid, a special on the day, which was very nice. Service was friendly and not overbearing. The main thing for us is gluten free and that was not an issue at all, in fact most men items seemed to be GF and a number of others were GFO. We ended up going inside as it git a bit windy but a very enjoyable a pond chilled afternoon with the music adding to the ambience. As a footnote we went back the next day as they had live music who were really good. The local was busy which was good to see.

My first visit to the Cross Keys and one of many to come. Participated in a chivelrous bout for the ages in the infamous premier pool league. Their tap water and ice is unrivalled and even better still, the owner and his family couldn't have made me feel more welcomed. Carvery is next...

While on vacation with my family, we ended up here by accident, but the atmosphere and the people were so welcoming and the food was delicious home cooked comfort food. Even my very picky eater kids ate their meals.
