Forced to spend the night here after crashing my car in the snow. No mobile signal in the village, and the pub's Wi-Fi was next to useless. Only way I could contact anyone was on the pub's landline. Decided to pay the £117 to stay the night. The room was freezing cold and the TV had no reception. Unsure if the heating was broken, but I barely slept, it was so cold. Only stay here if you want a "back to the dark ages" experience!

In a time where everything feels like you’re being ripped off, this beautiful little B&B/pub was a welcome surprise. Genuinely great value for money where the little details stand out - decor, full English breakfast and cosy perfectly formed rooms being the highlights! Jane was a wonderful host who really looks after her guests and staff with real warmth and hospitality (again, becoming rarer and rarer).

We had the pleasure of staying at the Queens Head last evening and couldn’t have been happier! Our room was extremely comfortable and well appointed with lovely duvets, pillows and bed linen - an enormous tick for that! We were warmly welcomed by Jane, the General Manger who, along with her lovely team, went above and beyond expectations to make our stay special. We had a well cooked and tasty evening meal in the cosy bar with lovely log burners and candles with great local beer and even a scrumptious rabbit croquette as an added surprise! With an early start ahead the following day the chef came in ahead of shift to make us the most delicious bacon sandwiches for our journey! Food, drink and ambience but especially the exceptional customer service will have us running back. Thank you.

We booked a table for Sunday lunch in this popular place. The meat was very good, potatoes and Yorkshires rather ordinary, and gravy minimal though the staff happily brought more (just not enough). We were a bit surprised that Shiraz was £40 a bottle. Friendly staff but against the yardstick of the truly magnificent Horseshoe just down the valley, the Queen's sadly comes up short.

We have just returned from a weekend break at the Queens Head. This was our 2nd break at a ChickPea Group pub and yet again they did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived were treated very well by the staff who were all committed to customer satisfaction. The pub itself is a wonderful building with a real fire and wooden beams complimented by rustic furniture full of character. We stayed for 2 nights and could not fault the rooms. A great selection of beers served in proper glasses with handle that came with expert advice from Ethan. Food was of the highest quality and when the morning came the breakfast was the best we have ever had- as with the evening meal full of flavour a credit to the Chef. As we previously mentioned this was our second stay at a Chick Pea Pub and our plan is to stay at as many as we can- no need to look anywhere else. Thank you to the team that looked after us and we look forward to our return.

We were staying in Broad Chalke for a week, so ate here twice. The first time was very good, the food was quickly served and was of a high standard. The scotch egg and the rarebit starters were particularly enjoyed, and the mains, especially the steak and the liver, were all good. The wine list has a range of interesting bottles at fair prices. The second time it was busier and the service was rather slow but the food still good. It's a characterful building with beams, old furniture, low lighting and plenty of atmosphere. You can have just a drink if you don't want a meal.

Location & ambience, spot on Choice of beer / wine, very good Starters, some nice ones to pick from Main course, sadly disappointing choice made with the beef pie, just so over seasoned with salt & rosemary to the point that one of the party could not eat it. To be fair, management removed the pie & the service charge. Come the winter best, bring a torch to read the menu as the lighting is very subdued. - Lovely place, jydt a bad choice on the main course on the night..

Popped in for lunch with family. Everything was absolutely perfect, the atmosphere is set perfectly, the staff are very friendly and happy to help and the food is to die for. The pub is beautiful found in the heart of Broadchalke After we ordered we were promptly brought foccacia and oils. We shared scotch eggs to start, I had the Pie. It was HUGE and of course all home made. My partner had the gnocchi special with a lamb sausage and heritage radish which was unique and well thought out, delicious also. Fish and chips and a ham egg and chips was also on the table but not for long! Desserts of white chocolate mascarpone with strawberrys were had with coffee in the rear garden to finish. We really enjoy the chickpea group and ensure we go to at least one each time we’re in the area. Head Chef Joey really knows what he’s doing with food! We look foward to returning.

I am a frequent visitor to the QH and have had many enjoyable experiences there over the past year. The staff are “go out of the way” helpful and attentive and always find a table somewhere for us. They had a Thai Food night last night and while I was expecting a fairly usual affair, with the slightly obvious “Green Chicken Curry and shop bought crackers” I got a completely different experience. I have eaten Thai food all over the world and would say I can recognise good from bad….this was simply exceptional. Everything was a cunningly crafted and a sensory delight, that would have looked at home in Mayfair, SoHo, Sydney or Bangkok. I can not praise the chefs highly enough and I can thoroughly recommend “Thai Night” becomes a regular fixture. Awesome, thank you and well done!

I immediately decided that should the opportunity arise, I would visit The Queen's Head for a pint. Well thank you Sir Terry and thank you Queen's Head for living up to the recommendation. We had the pint, then we had dinner and stayed for the night. The pub itself is lovely, low-roofed, charming, the very essence of a small village pub. The food was excellent, our room was excellent, the hospitality and our treatment by the staff was of such a high standard I can only assume they suspected we were mystery shoppers, or part of some 'Undercover Boss' style reality show. Sat indoors as weather a bit breezy and cool. Very welcoming and comfortable with a nice "buzz". Very friendly and efficient service and good food and beer. Will certainly be back as soon as possible.

Lovely pub with relaxing courtyard garden. Food was fabulous - not your standard pub fare. The herby gnocchi was gorgeous and the trout nicoise fab. ,My husband really enjoyed his pork belly roast. Ice cream and deserts not to be missed. Service and atmosphere was...

We haven't been to the Queen's Head since it became a free house, a couple of years ago, but we will be back soon! It's changed, very much for the better, with a good selection of beers, an excellent menu and friendly staff. We went...

I've stayed here several times and won't stay anywhere else in the area. The staff and clientele are lovely. The rooms are comfy and well equipped. The food is well above the standard one would expect in a village pub and very good value. It's...

After reading positive reviews we booked the Queens Head for two people for 2 nights, but maybe went to the wrong place with the same name because food and service didn’t reflect the reviews. I worked and trained until retirement within many sectors of the...

Recommended to try this pub for dinner by family. Great old world atmosphere, obviously popular and also comfortable. Had the special - Chicken ballotine with chorizo risotto which was very tasty, partner had fish and chips.

We had a really delicious roast dinner last weekend, everything on the plate (a huge amount of variety, which I loved) was cooked perfectly. The meat (lamb for me, beef for my husband) was to die for. And service was good up to the point we received our plates. But sadly from the end of the main meal, service was non existent. We were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu, to which my husband said yes. 15 minutes later, no menus. The waiter who offered was either standing around by the bar or serving other tables. We tried to get the staff’s attention a few times, but other than a brief smile , no one acknowledged or actually came back to us. It all felt a bit awkward after a while, so we went to the bar and paid for what we had had and left and headed to our favourite cafe for desserts and coffees instead. A poor experience at the end of a really lovely meal.

Hadn’t booked a table so we were delighted there was room for us on a very wet Thursday lunchtime. Quiet when we arrived but steady flow of people through the door. Food delicious and reached the table piping hot. Children’s menu limited (burger or fish and chips) but my granddaughter said her burger was great. Good range of beers which we sadly couldn’t try properly due to driving home. Puddings were fresh cooked so took slightly longer to get to the table but absolutely worth waiting for! I’d completely recommend!

We were very happy when we arrived as we were seated upstairs which was great as it was rather busy downstairs so we had good ambience from the start. The staff were friendly and helpful but the roast was absolutely gorgeous. Myself and friends have been trying roasts at different restaurants and you have now become our clear favourite so far. I was initially put off as there was no chicken option however this made me go for beef which was a good shout. It's rare I pay for a roast and it's better than home cooked but this one was up there. I highly rate their Sunday roast.

Great pub, amazing food especially the burgers. Spoilt for choice for the vegetarian options. Staff were friendly and had lovely atmosphere and music. Cannot recommend enough, will definitely be returning if in Salisbury again :)
