Didnt eat but good music friendly people and good prices

We had the ploughman’s and a bottle of wine. We can honestly say this is the best ploughman’s that we have eaten in a long while. We would highly recommend the ploughman’s, great value for money and very tasty.

Introduced to the Angel in the last day of our holiday in the area by friends. A super pub especially in the garden behind with the sun out. I’m sure we will return if we are in the area again.

Fantastic pizza, great staff, great beer, worth stopping in.

Didn’t they the food, but great entertainment on cloud 9 was preforming and they definitely know how to put a show on.

Wondered into The Angel. Some sort of party going on with lots if people dressed up and a live singer who was incredible fun. Lots of us dancing and atmosphere was incredible. We had a blast

The most welcoming pub in Poole! The Angel has the biggest and best atmosphere in old town Poole. Friendly, welcoming staff and a great group of regulars too which has created a fantastic community. The beers and wines are well kept and reasonably priced with plenty of choice. Food wise, the freshly made Pizzas are consistently high quality and topped generously. You won’t be leaving hungry!

Went in the other day to have a pizza with my wife and i can honestly say it was one of the best pizzas i’ve ever had, really enjoyed the place as i am a newcomer to poole so wanted to go somewhere a little different and i was extremely pleased with the place 5 stars for the chef and 5 stars for the establishment !!!

Wow, what an amazing pub! My girlfriend and I randomly stumbled upon The Angel after a days shopping in Poole; we spotted lights off the high street and wandered in. Such a friendly welcome from the Manager Tanya as we walked in, who immediately made us feel at home. Super chatty and friendly, she took time to take us through the various rums and beers and showed genuine interest in us, as tourists in Poole. She checked in with us throughout the evening which made us feel as if we were locals! One thing you MUST do when coming here is order a pizza! My gosh, the pizza was possibly the best pizza I have EVER had, in Dorset, London and even abroad! Absolutely stunning pizza. A.J is an absolute master when it comes to making pizza! Finally, the locals in the pub also made us feel so welcome and we will definitely be back the next time we are in Poole!

The Angel is a lovely, comfortable and modern pub just off the Old Town end of Poole high street. We could tell that lots of the other drinkers on a quiet Thursday night were regulars but as new guests we received a friendly and warm welcome from the bar manager Tanya. AMAZING pizzas from AJ the chef, just delicious. Best pub we've been to during a week in Poole. This would definitely be our "go to" pub if we lived in Poole.

What a warm welcome we received today at the Angel by the lady behind the bar. She let us bring our two dogs in and looked after us so well. We only had drinks and went out of her way to get my Mum the hot drink she wanted. Highly recommend this lovely pub.

Limited menu, only pizza or pie and mash, staff friendly and very efficient

If you are in Poole, this is always worth a visit. I tend to sit at the bar and stay for way longer than I ever plan. Lovely staff, spotlessly clean and the music is always at the right volume. We'll done everyone

Working in poole come here on a Saturday night always some entertainment on no idiots so you can enjoy a drink and some music

Really can't fault this pub. Great atmosphere, fantastic staff. The locals/regulars make this a safe, friendly bar for everyone. We'll run by the landlords. Great decor and lovely beer garden I would highly recommend the Angel in Poole to anyone. 5 stars for everything.

Best pub in Poole!! The atmosphere is the best, especially with the live music that's on every week! Plus the staff are always so welcoming and attentive. Considering other pubs, the angel is reasonably priced too!! Honestly can't fault it, now my go to !!

A definite must visit if in Old Town Poole, had a pizza to stave the hunger and if I'd have had enough space I'd have ordered a second. Team were all friendly and happy to serve

Island bar, so three open plan areas with beer garden at rear; good choice of ales, lagers, cider, wines, spirits and soft drinks etc; friendly & efficient staff; popular with locals and some passing holidaymakers, as a five minute walk from the Quay in a residential area of the "old" town, ie away from the retail areas. Reasonable access all areas.

Was told after a 14 hour shift next door I was only allowed one drink as I was “drunk” we came for the one after work I was fine I had just finished a four hour shift. Wont be back. Very rude reception from manager jo.

Good music and high quality real ales. No problem to try before I bought from the friendly Alexa.

Had a very welcomed 🍻 which were lovely and refreshing. The lady behind the bar was very welcoming and friendly. We sat in some comfy armchairs near the courtyard area.

A great cosy pub. When it was quiet the staff were great; when there was a function with 50 people the staff were great. A safe feeling and all the usual drinks on tap with a great selection of bottled spirits too. The food options are limited to pizza, but it might be the best pizza the country.

After try the pubs on the Quay and not being impressed I wS wary of the Angel. No reason to be. Friendliest pub I've been in for years. Everyone spoke to us and made us welcome

Great place, if a little expensive

There are just some pubs where you feel instantly like you are welcome and you belong. I've never been here before tonight but I'm definitely going back! Food was incredible and the service was above and beyond.

Fabulously welcoming. Sean and Jo are great hosts and really friendly. Dogs are welcome too which means a lot to us. Great Pizzas too. Give it a go. You won't be disappointed.

The team here are amazing . Always happy and obliging . I had a charcuterie board for 10 of us and the quantity and quality of cheeses was outstanding . Cheese salamis, big cuts of ham, bread olives . Just amazing. If you love your cheese and wine then head on down to see Jo and you can book a table and have a big feast set for a Queen. Thanks again !

10 friends, in their 60's and 70's, on an horendously stormy night, visited this establishement on a return visit to see a female singer. Our experience was awful. Part way through the evening one lady in our group was verbally attacked by the landlady for sitting on a stool against a wall, not in anyones way, 3 stools were removed by this landlady from the party and put out in the garden for smokers, bearing in mind the weather was awful, leaving this 64 year old lady to stand for 2 hours, others were also verbally abused by this landlady. Everyone in that group will never visit that establishment again, such a shame as we are all locals and spend a lot of money when out

Spent a very enjoyable afternoon at The Angel, listening to excellent live music from the duo Wildwood. And the pizza I ate was to die for!

Just a lovely pub inside and in the courtyard, very comfortable. Landlord is friendly, and very professional.

My good friend booked this place for us and 4 others to meet up..we had drinks/food..the food was really lovely the service was amazing..the atmosphere was great we all had a fun night..will be venturing there again..👍😀

I had seen the sign in the high street many times, finally decided to investigate. Chilled pub, very comfortable and clean, with a nice outside seating area. Staff friendly and welcoming. Good selection of beers. I will definitely be back.

I booked the back of the pub for my husband’s surprise party and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere and courtyard area were great and the pizzas were incredible! Thanks so much to Jo and Sean for making everything so easy and ensuring that everything went to plan.

My Sister & Her partner visiting from Yorkshire. We strolled along The Quay. Passing all the pubs they fancied a drink. I said no, not here and took them to The Angel. They Really really enjoyed it there. On leaving they said to the Landlord what a really really nice pub. 10 out of 10

Popped with family for a relax & one drink after an hour spent walking along the Quay (American Car night) Nice setting & friendly welcome from the Landlords, choices of Non Alcohol Beer or Guinness which was enjoyed & a nice J2o Juice & a real Guinness, we had a walk through & found the Garden out the back, which was a very nice setting with a Good amount of Seating with nice Lighting & Cushions, Cosy & inviting. Thank you Just what we needed. Will certainly return!!👏💕

Simply fabulous get here early as when they are gone they are gone. If you leave too late on a Friday it’s your own fault. When you make fresh Pizza the base takes 24 hours to be prepared. If you want fast food go to pizza express for plastic pizza

Enjoyed a couple of pints of cider here. Reasonably priced menu but can't comment on quality as we didn't have food. Menu looked tasty though.

In the old part of Poole the washing exterior fits in and the more modern interior is more open and light than expected. Great service from lovely people.

Hidden away gem… Was highly recommended by a local couple who told us of the great pizza and atmosphere, didn’t let itself down!!! Pizza’s we’re spot on and very reasonably priced.

Not visited for a few years, mostly due to Covid but also, finding it rather souless back in 2018. That's all now changed. Down for just Friday afternoon till Saturday night, we visited 3 times and found it now 1 of the best pubs in Poole. Located by the Registry Office it tends to get wedding parties in the afternoons but mostly in the front. Further in is unaffected and there is also a great patio garden out the back. There are regular music nights and on Saturday they had a brilliant keyboard/pianist. Great staff and probably more locals than tourists all mingling well. We will be back.

Accused a lad with ADHD of being on drugs and kicking the whole group out the bar. After 8 of us put a good £200 in the till. Had a good few nights in the pub but will never go back in the place after this. Discussing way to treat customers.

Friendly and welcoming is the first impression you get when you enter The Angel, the atmosphere is great and people often stop to chat, which seems to be a lost art these days. Brilliantly laid out with lots of seating and the outside area is also excellent. Staff always friendly, and a special mention has to go the pizza.... OMG the pizza!... sublime!! It is easy to forget this pub is here because its not at the forefront of Poole Quay, but its now become our favourite haunt. Come for the beer and wine, stay for friendship and welcome, return for the pizza...

i have been a member of CAMRA for several years and can definitely recommend the beer here well kept and right temperature also the pizza is amazing i have enjoyed lwith friends and family and everyone has had a fantastic time thoroughly recommend as staff are knowledgeable and efficient will definitely return
