Food was nice but we had a garlic bread 'small plate' for £4.50 and got ONE SLICE of bread. I mean REALLY???

I've only ever been here after a few drinks. It always seems tough to get a drink and there's a stair that you could go down if you don't know it's there. The general atmosphere is actually decent The music is varied prices are ok for the type of establishment it is.

Not worth the money for the quality of the food

Wonderful restaurant and bar! Friendly atmosphere here, great drinks and food is just amazing, high quality food specially burgers and pizza! Children friendly, lots of space inside, absolutely worth to visit! Owner is just a star! You don't want miss this place!

Can't comment on the atmosphere as we were there mid-afternoon. The food (snacks) were delicious, but mainly wanted to commented on lovely staff. Connor was friendly, polite and helpful. Such incredible service and personality. Impressed.

I haven't been here for years, so welcome back le bateau. The pizza and the burger we had was amazing 😋 and the menu looked nice. But the coffee however in my opinion wasn't nice at all, it was very strong and bitter for my taste. The decor was really nice, but when we pulled up right outside, it looked like it wasn't open, until I saw the TV was on. If we hadn't seen the TV we would have Gone elsewhere. Which would have been a real shame. Good luck le bateau, all the best. We will be back soon.

The milkshake we ordered looked more like a VERY sad chocolate milk with no consistency and texture to it. It seems that because it is ordered to be delivered food doesn’t have the same quality and presentation it would have if we were to have in presence. That is a shame.

Had lunch here with a friend! Really chilled music and atmosphere. We had the tacos which were amazing, the stuffed peppers, beer battered prawns and truffle oil fries! All beautifully cooked and delicious! I also had kombucha, really hit the spot. 👍🙌

love this place, 3rd time ain a few weeks, burgers and wings to die for, lovely staff, simple home cook food done really well, also reasonable on the wallet....., try the burgers, beef is amazing.......

Burgers were fantastic, all hand made . Tasted so good with a few fries and a pint of neck oil - pure heaven.

Good Atmosphere great staff quality night out

Night out, slow start, but then got over crowded. They need to collect glasses more often, and watch the toilets for "users". I found a gold ring on the floor and it was handed to the bouncer.

Fantastic Sunday lunch equal to a 5* restaurant. Still just as good Feb 23. NOVEMBER 23 BEWARE it has changed! Burger and chips only. (the burger is good) very very limited MENU.

Refuse to play rnb which would make this a much more fun and vibrant place to be. I’ll avoid until the music changes

Loved the vibe at this pub. Went a tad bit early on a Saturday evening , so the place wasn't full. They have a good selection of beers. The place is pretty massive. They are pet friendly. Would love to go back there on a live music night .

Dropped in for drinks and snacks after visiting the Grooves on the Green festival. Friendly reception from the young staff. We had a couple of drinks along with Loaded Nachos and some fries. Both were excellent. Well cooked (ie fully done and hot) and tasty in decent portion sizes. Would definitely recommend for cheap eats and nice beers in a clean environment.

It was full of chavvy and what appeared to be just turned 18year olds. We sat outside and the security guards outside were perving over the young girls coming in and they were smoking and making comments about the female customers coming in 🤢

Staff overcharging the customers for drinks. I went there last weekend bought half pint and a pint. Then I've ask the barmaid why she charged me over £10 for those drinks she said sorry my fault after seeing her putting £5 staff drink on a tap. She gave me some refund on card but that was very cheeky especially when you overcharging a sober customer :/

Was in the bar for most of the evening. Checked the bar next door and then refused reentry because one member of the party was wearing ‘sports shorts’ - despite leaving the bar 5 minutes previous with no issues. No reference on the website initially about dress code. Happy to take our custom at the start of the night and accept money then. Suddenly a change of opinion. Will leave our custom elsewhere. Poor customer service - disappointing.

Visited yesterday for the first time whilst waking by with our dog. It looked nice, so we decided to pop in on the spur of the moment for a drink. We encountered a very friendly and helpful barman. Quick service and some water brought out for the dog. There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We didn't eat on this occasion, but the menu looks appealing. We will definitely return.

Friendliest bar staff in the cross by a mile. They are just really welcoming and know what they're doing. The cocktails are delicious. Normally go for happy hour and nibbles but went for a roast recently and it was excellent. Outside space to people watch and lots of tables inside. Update June 2023- Thanks for my free drink! Had a French Martini, it was perfect as usual.

1st visit as Dive Bar. Excellent food. Used Le Batteau, as it used to be, just about every Friday, lost interest when a rubbish menu was brought in. Most definitely be returning with our friends, who also gave up the same time as we did. Looking forward to our next visit. Definitely recommend to friends. Very quiet, but, after all, we were getting away from Eurovision, smart move, 👍. Excellent food and drink. Our friends were impressed by your beers, 1 being German, husband having spent a few years there, they really appreciated the choice. See you soon.

Came in with some friends on the 6th of April for some drinks to enjoy the start of the bank holiday. Overheard a genuinely disturbing argument between the door staff and a young girl, clearly some very messed up people who have some very concerning opinions on things like who is responsible for drinks getting spiked and who bares responsibility for what happens after. Made for a very uncomfortable night out that we ultimately ended up cutting short. We won’t be coming back anytime soon, clearly isn’t a safe environment with attitudes like that.

The food was very nice and the staff were lovely.

Had an amazing meal today, food was amazing along with great service. Highly recommended. I had the roast pork and my friend had the lamb, both excellent. Plus with drinks the bill was very reasonable

I made a complaint about my partner being forced to leave the terrace. He wasn't hurting anyone or saying anything wrong. Just a little drunk. I saw him being pushed. He tried to get back in to me and was pushed again and fell into the road. Excuses for their behaviour but after reading other reviews here I see I was right with my concerns. Lives up to its name. Shame about the door men

Visited today around 22:15 on 25th March 23; served by a female bartender that was too busy giving her number to a guy to take my order; when she did got it wrong 3x so took the hit drank my incorrect drinks and left. Otherwise a great vibe & bustling establishment.

Had the roast. Excellent. Great portion size, great accompaniments. Great value.

Really friendly staff who.welcone you on arrival through the door with a smile and sone small talk, which is lovely. The menu is exciting and does make you want to order every thing they serve, but this will be a good reason to visit again again to treat yourself to this tempting cuisine. Onced you have chosen your dish, the food is served in good portions, which seems to be a rare thing in restaurants these days, all cutlery is clean and shinning. A wonderful experience.

Dj was a bit random, older crowd so more friendly than other local bars. Small venue so can feel quite crowded

I tend to judge a business by how it deals with the hiccups that sometimes occur. My visit today threw up an issue which was no real fault of anyone at Dive Bar and was delighted by the professional and courteous manner by which it was resolved. No dramas and a sincere apology even though it was beyond the control of anyone involved on site. This alone is worth the 5 star review as well as the meal itself being everything you could expect from a Sunday roast. Well presented,plentiful and very tasty. The service was attentive without being in your face and the staff were exemplary. Great value and a relaxed atmosphere all make Dive Bar a place i am more than happy to recommend.

Met up with a few work colleagues,arranged by Miguel who recommended the food ,had a Sunday roast beef with all the trimmings everything was cooked to perfection staff were very friendly and helpful atmosphere was great would definitely recommend dive bar to friends and will visit again in future 👍👍

Had the roast last Sunday. Very good indeed. Lovely rare beef and a good mix of veg. Great value for money at £15.95 for 2 meals. If they drop the 2 for 1 deal I would expect more meat but with the deal it’s good.

Just had a wonderful lunch at the Dive Bar ( formerly the Bateau). We walked in and it had a great feel, still has the large shark hanging from the ceiling 😂 The barman was very friendly and polite . Nothing was too much trouble . Our lunch was very good , great choice for everyone and GF no problem , which is definitely a plus . I would highly recommend a visit and you will not be disappointed. We will definitely be returning.

Had nice mussels in cream sauce for dinner. Good portion and taste. Only odd thing is that it's served with chips. But they were happy to swap for bread. 😁they have a good selection of cocktails.

We went to dive today for a roast. 2 adults and 2 children. We also asked to take a roast away for a family member. The staff were wonderful (lady behind the bar and the lad who room our order and delivered our drinks and meals)x So very helpful - nothing was too much, chatty and polite too. We had the beef and Turkey. The beef was tender and the gravy was delicious. Generous portion sizes with a great selection of veggies. We shall be returning! Thanks

Formal complaint against the security guards. They are extremely rude and decide who they want to let in and when. If I was the managers I would have a serious word with them as we will not be returning back due to their rudeness

On a gloomy day a warm and welcome atmosphere and a fantastic pork roast with all the trimmings. Everything you could want and nothing was too much trouble. They even had doggy roasts for your furry friends, Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic. Took my family. The food was excellent. We had the mussels, fillet steak and kids menu. The waiter/waitress service could not have been better, we were so impressed by a real 5 star service, with real “care” in customer care. The beer and wine selection was really varied with a good choice of everything. Happy place, good music, Will definitely return.

The best beer selection in Poole. Through German, Belgium to UK best beers. Lovely burger selection. Interior reminds me of old school, American rock pub. Definitely place to visit for all beer and burger lovers, like myself 😁👍

Le Bateau has changed ownership and has been re-branded The Dive. Super decor and layout, live music every Thursday at 8pm.

Denied entry for an unreasonable dress code rule, wanted to have fun for a friend's birthday but was told that we weren't allowed in

It was OK. Great service, but the food is very overpriced. The burger was so oily and the cheese had a nasty flavour. But as I said, great service. And I still left a tip.

The bouncer wouldn’t let me in because I was wearing certain shoes. I understand company policy and all but it seemed abit unreasonable since it was my last night in the country before I moved to New Zealand. Seeing as I was moving to another continent I think the bouncer should have let me in that small bar

Truly disappointing experience. Given the difficult times we've all been through, I was so disappointed in the service offerings.

They are now running a medical apartheid system for the sniffles, that belongs in 1930s Germany. I will not be injected or swabbed to get into this bang average place.

A good bistro but no parking. The staff can be snippy but otherwise it's a good place.

Ashley Cross' most versatile venue. Great restaurant, bar and club facilities!

Needed somewhere straight after the splashpark, 4 adults 4 kids, and Le Bateau was perfect. Good beer, pizzas, but was totally made by the pizza chef entertaining the kids. He gave them dough and toppings to make their own pizzas. Brilliant all round.

Le bateau is a lively bar and restaurant, they have a good range of drinks available to suit all tastes. They make their own pizza and cook them in the wood fired oven at the back of the kitchen with a viewing area so little people can be entertained by it. There is live music on some evenings so check what's on when you visit. We enjoyed our experience on board.

Ordered for collection as we've previously enjoying dining here. Pizza collection is currently via a dark alley around the back of the shop front. Staff greeted my wife without face coverings, not adhering to social distancing, one of whom was also smoking. Not a great motivation to return. 3 stars as the food was ok, but definitely room for improvement with the current setup for collections.

When you order wings - make them do crispy It’s 10000x times better it’s actually unreal I’m a huge wing fan myself and their wings when crispy is top 3 in Bournemouth

Great food, and drinks. At the minute with the Covid rules they seem to still be very efficient. Be sure to book a week in advance as they are always full! Which goes to show how good they are!
