The best restaurants serving British food in South West

This is a place we have liked coming too over the years but no more. We had two dishes. One being a Nasi Goreng and my first bite the food was tepid at best, I immediately complained and it was microwaved and brought back in 2 minutes. I expected it to be cooked from scratch. The other dish was a burger and the bacon was tough. The waitress was unfriendly.

Touristy cafe in prime position in Stow's market square. It's fairly cramped inside, with tables very close together and lacking atmosphere. Coffee and cakes were fine but overpriced compared to other cafes that we visited in the Cotswolds.

Excellent little hidden Gem. Nipped in to find a quiet corner to do some work emails before heading home. Daryl was lovely going the extra mile and provided me with an extension lead. My colleague had the rump steak and I the soup, great service and yummy tasting food. Free parking too!

Bought a gift card but couldn't use it despite having a message that I could! Also bought an outdoor light that didn't work.

I didn't eat. But the staff were friendly and helpful as my car had broken down outside the pub!!

My wife and I booked a Sunday/Monday getaway. We overnighted and had breakfast in The Hop Inn. We had the warmest welcome on arrival and was shown to room 5. More than adequate and clean, a very short walk into town or the beach, we loved it. We bagged a parking space outside so remained without any parking charges. We had the pleasure or meeting Rocky and having breakfast served by him, unbeknown to us my wife left her watch behind in the room on checkout, we returned later after realising, and there was Rocky waiting for us with the watch safe and secure. Loved the service, friendly welcome and attitude of everyone at the hotel

Good fish & chips & staff was quick to serve & very polite

Myself and a few colleagues were working nearby and were recommended to come and try the food by a barman in our hotel. The food was great, I had the rib sharing platter (to myself) and really enjoyed it. The beer prices are reasonable, think it was around £3.90 for a Carlsberg, which these days is a good deal. Service was good, friendly staff, will call in again when next working in the area

Stopped here yesterday for a drink in the sunshine & decided to have lunch as the food being brought out looked nice. We got a drink & sat out on the raised seating area overlooking the sea which is brilliant. We ordered 4 fish & chips which looked lovely when brought out, but we were very disappointed as the fish was tasteless & mushy when cut open. It was obviously frozen fish, not fresh which we found strange being where it was situated, along with 12 chips at £15 we thought could of been alot better. Service, staff, drinks & views brilliant, but on our experience food very disappointing.

Very good food, well served. Used Tesco vouchers, all very smooth

Stopped here for a coffee when out with a cycle group. Great coffee, and quick service for our group.

Came here for a sunday roast as a party of 4, not booked in advance and they accomodated us without batting an eyelid. Great service and absolutely incredible roast. One of the best pub roasts i've had the opportunity of eating. Pork, lamb, beef, gammon served moist with a lovely selection of veg, cauliflower cheese, a giant yorkshire pudding and lashings of gravy. Real "home cooked" vibe, this wasn't your typical deli sliced cold meats served with veg and gravy, you can tell this was cooked with care and everything was served piping hot. Top stuff, will definitely be coming here again.

Who doesn't love a coffee at Costa? Attentive and quick customer service. I visit all the time and have never been disappointed. The person behind the counter, Pipe, I think his name is, was very quick and friendly. Thank you 😊
