We've been taking part in the Thursday quiz for several months and its been great fun until recently. If you want to take part in the quiz but are only drinking then you are restricted to the bar or raised area. Understand the need for the pub to encourage dining but last night was awful - crammed in, had to stand at a table as no chairs available whilst the restaurant area remained largely empty. Numerous people left. Not the staff's problem at all but we really didn't feel welcome.

Best avoided if you get an email offer - in this case it was an offer for free birthday deserts - however when you open the email it does not make clear this had to be ordered at the same time as main courses. So we ordered drinks and main course in the app. Then went to the bar to redeem the free dessert offer and very conveniently told “you should have ordered at the same time as the main”. Manager clearly could not be bothered as they were busy chatting to the kitchen staff. Even when I was told it’s in the t&c’s and after scrolling through the whole email I pointed out you needed to go right to the bottom of the email to find these t&c’s in tiny writing! Which is hiding behind the small print. Oh yes and apparently, the manager then told me, I could not use the app for the dessert code and would have to talk to a member of staff - but of course I had used the app so not needed to engage with a staff member. Sorry Greene King you need to up your game and not hide behind small print - and perhaps find staff who are a little bit more empathetic and understand why you did not know what you needed to do to redeem the birthday offer. Happy birthday to me. Well obviously not at the Norwood !!!!!!

The Norwood is a perfect place to go, either for drinks or to eat - the staff are fantastic: friendly, attentive and helpful. The whole place is really pleasant, clean, comfortable and welcoming. The food is always excellent and the range of drinks is really impressive, plus both are less expensive than you’d expect for a venue like this. There’s lots of parking available and a large outside area that is perfect for sunny days and evenings. Highly recommended!

We decided rather late to go out for a evening meal,, we arrived with just enough time to order some food,, the young waiter that saw us through our night, (( spiky hair,)),, sorry forgot his name. But his service and attitude towards us was absolutely top-notch he made our evening very enjoyable definitely recommend Norwood Arms

Really nice place, bit and spacious and a nice separate restaurant section to the drinking part of the pub. The girls that served us were lovely and attentive. Steaks were cooked well, tender.

Good value meal & excellent service. Atmosphere down one star because of an egotistical loudmouth customer at another table in the restaurant.

Beyond embarrassment, had a few drinks and in a fine condition but denied service because the barmaid was on a power trip, won’t be using this place again and would rather use and encourage any other person to use another place on bath road.

Went twice in one day as the staff was lovely and the food was brilliant! First time around we were three people having food, sat outside and had two focaccias and one shrimp and chips! We enjoyed ourselves and looked through the rest of the menu, before deciding to bring the rest of the family for the evening! Six people that all got drinks and food served by kind and helping staff and they were very helpful in having a separate vegetarian and vegan menu, and offered food for several types of allergies and preferences!

A late breakfast after dropping off a parcel in Leckhampton. Served by Simon who was a nice chap and everything was perfectly cooked. Good coffee as well

Nice pub with a decent size beer garden and car park next to it (be sure to scan the qr code inside the pub and put your car reg in for free parking). Staff were all friendly and drinks were good. Had a bowl of chips which were ok but that was it so couldn't comment on the rest of the menu. All in all a nice pub and happy to go back there again, next time we're in town.

What a pub. Great staff with a genuine happy demeanour, a rare thing indeed these days. Still shocked by the lack of variety in the gentleman’s machine. Won’t be tickling any fancies this evening ☹️

Lovely catch up with some friends, very chill and calm whilst also having that saturday night atmosphere with the football on and a busy restaurant. Simon on the bar was lovely and very friendly and accommodating.

Very nice meal .service was slow due to a large party dining. Could do with a couple of larger tables in the bar area, as 4 of us had to use 2 small round tables to eat at.

Family friendly ran eatery, also great garden in the sun !! Bar staff .. Amelia, Scott, Kate , spike and the rest of the staff are very attentive

Absolutely perfect, great food and so lovely place. Staff great, helpful and friendly. We are here really often and even when we moved, we drive here still halfway across the city. Big place inside, very nice garden. But at first - waiters and all staff is brilliant!

Response to manager I acknowledge that when ordering a small Sunday roast you don't warm yourplates ,but we were not children ! Your waiting staff should acknowledge that...and ensure the plates and food are hot for adults ..

Our waiter Simon (spikey hair chap) was very accommodating to getting our food, despite the kitchen closing soon after our arrival. Excellent service, couldn't praise him any more for ensuring we got the food (including dessert!) that we wanted. Absolutely above and beyond what we deserved. Shout out to Simon!

Have been a couple of times recently for lunch. They have a good lunch deal on at the moment - wrap, chips and a drink for £9.99. The halloumi and roasted vegetable wrap is really nice. You can park for free but must remember to enter your reg number when you go into the pub. Or you can pay and get refund at the bar. Staff were friendly and attentive and rectified a mistake with food quickly.

Simon in Cheltenham sorted us with a table for the footy and then a meal afterwards which was fantastic! Food was good and served in great time

Went yesterday for Fathers Day for the first time. Great choice of mains and desserts. Very reasonable prices. Roast was fantastic and desserts were divine. Friendly, cheerful staff. Special thanks to the man with the mohican for giving us "their best table". Will definitely be going there more often as DD now lives very close by. 5 stars. Highly recommended.

A really enjoyable pub with good food and nice staff. Unfortunately, the quiz night leaves a lot to be desired with the pub's "favourite" team, The Bath Road Wanderers, allowed to regularly cheat their way to 1st place. Apparently you can retrospectively change your answers and sneak off to the toilet for a quick Google! This is a shame as otherwise it's a lovely experience....

We were a table of 14 on a typical busy Saturday night. Honestly could not fault the food and especially the service (Simon and Kate were amazing!). Would definitely be back in the near future.

Came here for a birthday celebration as a table of 14 and I couldn’t have asked for more. Simon and Kate were great, so friendly and helpful. Lovely range of drinks and food was delicious - I had the halloumi salad with a side of cheesy garlic focaccia and as someone who struggles to find delicious veggie food this was a real treat. Thank you all for our evening and we will be back!

The food was delicious and arrived super fast Ive had green king food before but this definitely was made with more care and presented better than other green kings I was served by a staff member with blonde hair turtle tattoo and a one with a mohawk both were super polite and friendly !

Very friendly staff. Great range of beers, lagers,and ciders. Lovely outdoor area where we sat to eat. Fish was apparently very good. My steak and ale pie was brilliant. Highly recommended. Thank you, Norwood Arms. We will visit again.

Had our netball AGM here. We had a private section of the restaurant for 14 of us. Had food which was really nice and great value for money. The team were great and couldn’t do enough for us.

On the lodge and this was within 3mins walk. Food is good and I will go back again

Lovely pub with great outdoor space and easy park (fee refundable at the bar). I had chicken strips and halloumi fries and it was delicious. Wait time for food was minimal when we went which was great. Prices are reasonable, pretty much standard pub food prices. Staff are all super friendly and the bar, garden and toilets are really well maintained. 10/10 would recommend!

The food was really good and a great price. My husband had chicken and ham pie and chips and I had the halloumi salad and it was delicious. We also had puddings here which are fabulous and gave a gluten-free option. Our Waiter Simon was brilliant and everything exceeded our expectations.

We're not local and we found this lovely pub on google and the reviews helped us alot. Family of 2 adults and 3 children lastminute dinner ar Norwood Arms on Monday evening. We were ushered in a by lovely staff and he helped chose great seating for my small family. Parking is free and the Food was exceptional ! We each had mains & desserts with large drinks and a kids starter. I believe our bill came to £103 for all. Big portion, deliciously made and we absolutely devoured it. The staffs that had served us went over amd beyond, you're both uber special. Apologies as I did not take your name but you were both lovely. Place is clean , great ambience and clean toilets. Please take coins or notes for tips as you cannot tip if you're paying by card. Great experience overall and we're definitely going to come back for more.

This is definitely one of my favorite places. The beer is well served in nice glasses, although its premium prices. I'm a regular pub-goer and I rate this place in my top three

Visited at Saturday lunch to spend time with family that travelled for the day from London. Pick this pub as it is dog friendly. Easily booked prior to arrival and a warm friendly welcome was received when we arrived. Food was very tasty and service from our waitress was very attentive. We will visit more often.

Venue coped well even on Easter Monday with a group of 8 including 2 children.

The dining room looked inviting. The bar area felt like it was trying to be trendy but somehow missed the mark. Not the worst pub in the area but certainly not fulfilling its potential. Difficult to say exactly why, but definitely missing something. Perhaps better if visiting in a lively crowd or when warm enough to enjoy the outside garden. Everyone is different, so give it a try, there was nothing in the service or bar products to criticise.

Very little atmosphere in this pub sadly ,and it was cold ! I had to keep my coat on ! I was with an elderly friend and we ordered a small Sunday roast ,so that was a positive mat least that was an option so well done on that part , but sadly the plates were cold (sorry that goes down badly in my book) which made the food cold ,and it was so nicely presented to . Can't believe you have to pay to park for the privilege of sitting in a cold pub and eat cold food ! On a positive the staff were nice and I informed the waitress the food was cold , so hopefully she reported back to the chef and manager .

Flew all the way from the states to come to Norwood Arms! Simon is an awesome bartender and talked music for hours.

Previously good service received at Norwood Arms was not repeated at this visit. It was the Thursday of the Cheltenham Racing Festival but the restaurant wasn't very busy mid afternoon. The place was clearly understaffed and the staff there were not attentive. After the slowly delivered main course we asked for and were given the desert menu but nobody returned to take our order. I'm usually please to leave a good tip and write a favourable review.... but sadly neither were deserved this time.

Came to do the pub quiz after hearing all the hype, it was great fun, will be coming back to do it again!

Although the food was good and much enjoyed by my family, the parking lets the otherwise positive experience down. Upon arrival a ticket was immediately bought with my registration number printed on it. The charge was refunded when i paid the bill. A few weeks later a £100 fine for parking arrived in the post. Amazingly i still had the ticket as i had not cleaned out my car for a long time so i could appeal the fine. A few weeks later i was informed by a begrudging email - no apology - that the fine was cancelled on this occasion. I will not give the opportunity of another occasion to be falsely accused, so regrettably i will not be visiting again.
